The Tortoise and Your Ear

Happy humpday lovebugs,
Today I wanted to talk about some tortoise. We all know and love tortoise sunglasses, but recently, I'm really loving the casual cool of tortoise earrings. There is something very classy yet no frills about it.

Tory Burch, Walter, $78
Tory knows simple and chic and these studs do just that. I love the gold accents.

I'm picturing these with a tweed blazer and jeans, super library cool.

Banana Republic, Tortoise Stud Earring, $29
Doesn't get more everyday wear than this. Use these for suits, shorts, jeans, or dresses.

I love these because they're so artistic. Eye catching and unexpected.

Tortoise is timeless and seasonless so find a piece that you love and spend a little bit more on it so you can have it forever. I promise they will be one of your go to signature items.

The Not So Subtle Hint

Neon is still a big trend this fall and what better way to not break the budget then getting some great neon shoes? Here are a mix of flats and heels but they're all bright!

Target, Vivian Pointy Heel, $29
I told you I wouldn't break the bank! These babies will stop traffic too!

Nine West, Super Fly Shoes, $51
I like to call these chic weekend flats. They are the perfect pop of color to pair with bf jeans and a t shirt.

Nordstrom, BCBG Cielo, $58
You know that Justin Timberlake song; 'damn girl'. Yep.

I'm sorry, originally $200 now under $80. Mmmhhmm, did I deliver or what?

So as you can see, neon is not just for the warm weather. Keep mixing bright accessories in whenever you can all through the fall!

Tied Up in Silk

Happy Monday lovebugs. How was your weekend? I spent mine in Ocean City, NJ celebrating a friend's birthday. Now we're back to the grind, but you know what? Fall is in the air and that makes me happy.

Today I thought we would look at some silk scarves that can be worn in a variety of ways this fall: in your hair, around your purse handle or the usual, tied around your neck!

Nordstrom, Links and Dots Shorty, $42
I'm really loving the red on purple here, it's a great contrast of color near the face or with a light brown bag.

Ann Taylor, Charming Bow, $68
For this I'm picturing a strong red lipstick, something to really counter the sweetness of the pattern.

Anthropologie, Gilt Petals Scarf, $19
The colors in this scarf would be perfect with a jean jacket or over a ponytail.

Fossil, Cindy Floral Scarf, $44
I'm obsessed with this scarf. I love the graphic yet geometric pattern and the emerald border!

If you're hesitant about trying scarves, I'd recommend going to the nearest Target or Nordstrom Rack and try on a few in the mirror where you won't get swarmed with sales people. Find a pattern or color that you're comfortable with and mix it into your wardrobe!
