Mission: V Day

Hey lovebugs!

It's almost the weekend- we're so close!  And it is a special weekend coming up: Valentine's Day.  Do you have a date planned with your man or maybe a girls night of Sex and the City? In my opinion, both are equally necessary to dress up for!  I'm thinking sassy dresses.  Show off  your legs and put on some heels.  Here are my picks for whatever you have planned.

This dress is unforgettable.  The lines, the details, the sweet colors mixed with the sexy neckline- just gorgeous.

Ann Taylor, Petal Neck Sheath, $60
Look at this little sheath! I'd buy some Spanx to go with but oo la la!

Nordstrom, Jessica Simpson Kendale, $78
SO sweet and flirty!!!!! And not super tall, perfect for working your strut.

If all else fails- put these beauties on and relax.  I love you, you love you, Happy Valentine's Day.

So whether you're out on the town, with your girls, or relaxing alone, give yourself a hug and maybe a box of chocolates this Valentine's Day!

Be fabulous today!

Flowers? For me?

Florals are just as relevant in the dead of winter as they are in the middle of summer.  They add embellishment and interest to an outfit.  Florals need to be tailored to fit the season however; your cotton light pink floral tank is not going to do well even with a cardi over it right now.  Try changing the palate or maybe the cut of the piece.  Look for more structure in the winter whereas in the spring and summer, loose and casual is the way to go.

Banana Republic, Silk floral slit neck, $52 with code (BRSUPER25)
I really like the mix of charcoal with orange and pink.  Plus its got a great shrunken pocket detail on the top.

Anthropologie, Wispy Blooms Scarf, $54
Where to begin with this beauty? I like this with an LBD, under a trench, as a headband, and tied to my handbag.  Do it all scarf!

Modcloth, Bright up your alley, $70
This dress is darling! Even though the print is bold, you can really have fun with accessories.  Try a wide black belt and some great tights!

Floral is tough for bottoms, especially in the winter.  But this darker palate would look great with black tights and open-toed heels.

Florals are a great way to warm up an outfit.  They are interesting to look at and attract attention.  Remember to look for darker palates when wearing floral in the colder months.

Simple Treasures

Sometimes the most unique and meaningful jewelry is a simple engraving.  Whether it is a monogram or a simple phrase, you will treasure that piece of jewelry always.  Today I wanted to pick out some of my fave Etsy picks for this type of jewelry.

Gaudy Baubles, Initial monogram pendant, $49
I really like the simplicity of a monogram pendant, this one is so well priced too.

By Hannah Design, Personalized gold charm necklace, $38
The bf did very well with this seller.  He got me this necklace with the phrase: "be fabulous today" on it. I wear it with everything!

Something About Silver, Gold Bar XO, $40
How cute is this? I like the idea of layering this necklace with some pearls.

Seize the Night, Fearless hand stamped necklace, $14
This is a great reminder.  Fun to wear with jeans.  And the price? Unbeatable.

These necklaces are ones that will always mean something to you.  Whether it's commemorating an event, a treat for yourself, or a gift for someone else.  I just love the quiet elegance of these pieces.

Football Food Fallout

Hey lovebugs!
Happy Monday.  I don't know about you but I am so full of queso dip, Doritos, and pigs in a blanket that it is very difficult to not walk around bracing my lower back like a pregnant woman.  Did you also eat your weight in dip yesterday?  Ok good, now I don't feel as badly.  The bf and I are starting Weight Watchers this week.  Well, I'm starting, he's just suffering with me by eating what  I eat.  Have you done WW before?  I'd love to hear your stories.

But today I'm feeling like I'm carrying a small food baby.  So I want to talk about what to wear when dealing with that issue.  And if it hasn't happened to you, you haven't lived.

Gap, Bubble dress, $60
This is a great dress to be full in.  Note the name of the dress.  Bubble.  Perfect for concealing any leftover tummy from yesterday.  I'm also loving the thick shoulder straps.

Modcloth, Yay for Sorbet, $35
This is a great tunic for those lucky ladies who have some warmer temps right now.  The collar is so feminine and the way the hemline falls is just delicate.

J Crew Factory, Nico Skirt, $31 (with code MUSTSHOP)
I own this skirt. I wish it came in more colors because I would buy it in every one.  Right now I wear it with sweater tights and this summer with espadrilles.

Urban Outfitters, Silence & Noise knit dress, $59
I really like the gathered waist on this dress.  Perfect for letting your stomach relax.  For work, I'd put a sequin cardi with it.

So that's what I'd like to be wearing after a long day of eating and snacking.  Think cotton and spandex.  Stretch and soft.  On days like this, pleating is your friend.
