Head Case

Happy Monday lovebugs,
I hope you had a good weekend. The man and I went with some friends to the Gold Cup and had a grand time.  The people watching was amazing and the hats were even better. And that's the inspiration for today's post: statement headbands. They make me smile and you are going to get a ton of compliments.

How lovely and feminine is this metal headband. It also comes in half a dozen colors.

Who doesn't love supporting small business? Its like not loving puppies. This lady is crushing some adorable felt floral headbands.

Apologies for the poor picture, but I really love this headband. I think it would add some sparkle to a simple sundress.

Anthropologie, Nymphaea Headband, $28
White dress, this headband, and some bright sandals.

A great hair accessory is such a clutch thing to add to your closet. You pull it out and you instantly feel pretty and unique. Not that you aren't that all of the time. You totally are, but sometimes you need a little something extra. A statement.

Crockpot Honey Siracha Chicken
c/o Stephanie Cooks
Ingredients
1 to 1½ pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts
¼ cup Sriracha sauce
¼ cup honey
1 tablespoon soy sauce

For the drizzle:
¼ cup mayo
¼ cup greek yogurt
¼ cup sweet chili sauce
2 tablespoons honey

Directions
1- Cut chicken into large bite sized chunks.
2- Place in the crockpot. In a bowl mix together Sriracha, ¼ cup honey, and soy sauce.
3- Pour over chicken, cover and cook on high for 2-4 hours or low for 5-7 until chicken is cooked through.
4- Whisk together drizzle ingredients.
5- Serve chicken with rice or noodles as desired with a generous drizzle of the sauce. Top with cilantro, if desired.

Buttermilk Quick Bread
c/o The Kitchn
Ingredients
2 cups (10 oz) all-purpose flour
1/2 cup (4 oz) white sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup (8 oz) buttermilk
1 large egg
1/4 cup (2 oz) unsalted butter, olive oil, or vegetable oil

Directions
Heat the oven to 350°F. Grease or spray with nonstick cooking spray a standard 9x5 loaf pan.
Whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium mixing bowl. Melt the butter, if using. Whisk it in a separate bowl with the buttermilk and the egg.
Pour the liquid ingredients over the dry ingredients. Gently stir and fold the ingredients until all the flour has been incorporated and a shaggy, wet batter is formed. Be careful not to over-mix.
Scrape the batter into the prepared pan and pat it into the corners. Bake for 45-50 minutes. When finished, the loaf should be domed and golden, and a toothpick inserted into the center should come out clean. Let the loaf cool in the pan for 15 minutes before removing and slicing.

Wrap baked loaves tightly in plastic wrap and store at room temperature. Baked loaves can also be wrapped in plastic and aluminum foil and frozen for up to three months.

She's Such a Foldover

Let's wrap up this week with some great bags. On Monday we featured a great foldover clutch from Forever 21 that I loved. I think clutch for weekend wear is...well, clutch. It's tiny, efficient, and easy to swap in and out with different looks. Today I'm not picking any style or color, I just want to feature some great foldover clutch options.

I mean, hello. Chic central.

This is a girls night bag. Nothing more to say. It's also $11.

Party time! Picture this with denim and heels.

White House Black Market, Denim Colored Suede Foldover Clutch, $119 $59
And on the other end of the party, this boho chic denim clutch!

A simple but powerful clutch is really going to pull your outfit together. Try a foldover option for a fun and versatile look.

Pretty in Paisley

Spring=paisley. Everyone knows that. It's like peanut butter and jelly. However, when you google shop paisley you get a ton of pajamas, which isn't exactly helpful. So I am really loving the newer paisley block look that breaks up the allover paisley pattern and the colors still pop. Check out these paisley block tops.

A great navy top that you can pair with white without it looking nautical.

What a great color combination. I also love the bib pattern block in the center.

A more traditional paisley but I like the asymmetrical hem. This is also one size fits all which is pretty awesome.

JCrew, Mixed Paisley Top, $78
So pretty. I would pull my hair into a ponytail and add some dramatic ear jackets for sparkle.

Paisley is a great print for spring and summer. While I love an allover print, this blocked look is fantastic to pair with any color jean, chino, or shorts.
