Bow Down to the Bow

Happy Monday lovebugs,
I hope you had a lovely weekend. It snowed for a minute here in DC and it was just not ok. I'm ready for sunshine, shorts, and flowers. I'm ready for spring. Until we get there I am embracing pastels and things that remind me of spring. Today, I'm thinking bows. They are feminine, light, and a fun addition to any top.

Loft, Floral Charm Bow Neck Blouse, $59 $36! Extra 40% off right now!
Starting off strong with this beautiful print and a style that will work with jeans or a pencil skirt.

While I hate the name of this blouse, I love the blouse. I'd rough it up and pair it with a distressed denim or a leather jacket.

A beautiful piece for right now. Floral but long-sleeved and the colors aren't Easter egg-ish.

I love the shape of this blouse. It is quite unique and the color is perfect for any style.

When you think bows do you think pretty, pretty, princess and rainbows? Right. Bows have been updated to fit a mature wardrobe and you can add your own spin on things with accessories.

Friday Foodday

Happy Friday lovebugs,

Here are my favorite recipes this week.

Campari Mojito
c/o The Kitchn
Ingredients
1/4 ounce (about 4 large sprigs) fresh mint, plus additional for garnish
1 ounce lime juice
1 ounce white rum
1 1/2 ounce Campari
Crushed ice
2 lime wedges
2 to 4 ounces good tonic water

Directions
Place the mint sprigs in a large glass or cocktail shaker, and add the lime juice and rum. Muddle with a muddler or a wooden spoon for several minutes, crushing the mint and releasing its aroma. Add the Campari and a few cubes of ice, and shake or stir until well chilled.
Fill a 12-ounce highball glass with crushed ice and squeeze a lime wedge over top. Pour in enough tonic water to fill the glass a quarter full, then pour in the strained Campari mixture. Garnish with a little more tonic water, the second lime wedge, and mint. Best with a straw!

Casual Kicks

Sticking with shoes from yesterday, let's continue the trend and look at something warm and casual. The relaxed shoe/sneaker that is your go to for weekends from now until September.

The iconic print from Gary Malin just screams summer with the perfect summer shoe: Sperry.

I've been tracking these floral slip ons for some time. Now they're on sale, and it's time to purchase.

I really love this seashell color because I'd pair these with printed shorts or dress down a sundress.

Spring anyone? How adorable are these splatter paint sneakers?

Casual, comfy, and ready for spring. I am loving the sneakers this season.

It's a Shoe, It's a Boot, It's...

Fashion is weird. They always seem to come up with terms and phrases that at first we scoff at, but then we find ourselves using "arm party" and "ear cuff" like it's no big deal. Today I'm going to say something that you need to try to use because it's going to be a thing. Shootie. That's right. Shoo-Tee it's a shoe bootie. It's a shootie, let me educate you.

A great stacked heel makes these shooties easy to walk in and ready for a spring pedicure.

Anthropolgie, Farylrobin Tate Shooties, $79
I'm oddly obsessed with these. They're going to be perfect with jeans and shoes from Anthro under $100? Unheard of.

These shooties are a party. Chunky heel, fun laser cut pattern, it's a great spring option.

Dorothy Perkins, Black Peep Toe Black Shoe Boot, $59
Simple and bordering on rocker-chic. I am digging this black option.

I allow you to use the term 'shoe boot' if shootie gives you the giggles, but mark my word, it's going to be a thing.
