It Really Is Easy...

Hey there lovebugs,
Happy Monday. I hope you had a lovely weekend. Today I thought we would look at a color in bags that I believe is severely underrated. As it is often said, it isn't easy being green, but I tend to disagree. Green is gorgeous, especially when it comes to handbags. I love it because it goes with both black and brown and in this cold weather, it's a nice pop of something when outerwear tends to be so neutral.

This bag is on crazy sale until Wednesday. It's originally $170, I cannot tell you how amazing this sale price is. Go now.

Nasty Gal, Lexie Satchel, $78
I love a top handle and cross body option. This is olive hue is accented beautifully with gold accents.

Gap, Leather Tote, $53
This slouchy and soft leather is perfect for the weekend. Throw everything in and go. Did I mention it  was originally $135?

Another great olive option. Look at this interesting top. Geometric and almost Tetris-like. This is a great winter shoulder bag.

I'm all for chocolate brown and black and even a pop of neon now and again, but these green options are really striking a chord with me right now on these chilly days.

  2. Add the garlic and red pepper flakes and saute until fragrant, about a minute.
  3. Add the wine and deglaze the pan.
  4. Add the broth, cream, sundried tomatoes and parmesan, bring to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer until the sauce thickens a bit, about 3-5 minutes.

Graham Cracker Cookies
Ingredients
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, room temperature
1 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 egg
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
3/4 cup all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup chocolate chips

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degres.
In the bowl of a stand mixer, cream together the butter and sugar until creamy.
Beat in the vanilla and egg until well combined.
In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the butter mixture until just combined.
Stir in the chocolate chips.
Using a medium cookie scoop, drop balls of dough onto a parchment lined baking sheet. Bake for 7 minutes. Cookies will look slightly underdone, but should set up nicely as they cool.

Mixed Media Blitz

Let's talk outerwear. We're somewhere near the halfway point of winter and I don't know about you, but my wool coat isn't exciting me anymore. That's why I've been eyeing these mixed media jackets. They are giving my coat closet some energy and still keeping me warm this winter.

This jacket is almost 70% off right now. I love the tough girl style with the softer quilted sleeves.

Speaking of amazing sales, check out this jacket. I love some buffalo plaid and this makes it a little preppy!

Lord and Taylor, Mixed Media Bomber Jacket, $66
Simple details, including the contrasting zipper makes this coat pop.

I liked this bomber because its not the usual cropped waist. It's a bit more relaxed and casual.

So let's mix up the outerwear conversation and mix in some alternatives. Mixed media coats.

Sedated Sequins

When I say 'sequin sweater' do you cringe, worry, or run away? Well, what if I gave you some sequins but in neutral colors. Something that sparkles with the right light not like a bold neon that makes people go 'woah girl, easy there.' Let me explain.

Saks Off 5th, Chevron Sequined Sweater, $55
See? We can do this! And we can do it on sale. Love this detail and pattern.

Picture this with a distressed denim. It's casual meets cool.

Gap, Sequin Sweater, $35
I'm not usually one for ribbing, but this soft knit and sequin polka dots its too adorable to pass up.

I may have saved my favorite for last. A perfect striped baseball style pullover with a very happy graphic.

Neutral sequins aren't flashy. The grays, creams, whites, blacks, they shimmer in the most understated way and make it so easy to pair with anything in your closet.
