Short Story

Lovebugs,
It's August. It's hot. Let's look at some shorts.

A great high waisted short is perfect to dress up by tucking in a blouse and adding a skinny belt.

Old Navy, Printed Twill Short, $16
I love a polka dot and I love it even more with a great, saturated green.

Nordstrom, Caslon linen short, $49
A great linen short is essential for summer, this color will pop with so many outfits.

This navy blue is a great neutral to pair with a peasant top of a sheer blouse.

That's it, sorry no groundbreaking fashion lessons today. It's hot. Shorts are cool.

Printed Pumps

Happy humpday lovebugs,
Today I want to get a little wild and look at some printed platforms. Animal prints, graphic prints and more all in a great heel.

You all know I'm pretty conservative when it comes to office wear but you know what? Rock these suckers with a pencil skirt!

Forever 21, Zebra Platform Pumps, $26
When I look at these heels the song "I'm sexy and I know it" is playing in my head.

Nine West, Rocha, $39
I LOVE all of the colors in this shoe! Perfect for skinny jeans.

Macy's, Tumble platform pumps, $41
A beautiful floral with a great peep toe.

Patterned pumps are a great way to add color to an outfit and make sure everyone you see says, 'nice shoes!'

Howdy Ombre

The ombre trend has hit every bit of our lives this year; from the ombre pillow to the ombre nail, it's a staple. Let's look at some great ombre trends under $100.

I really like the casualness of this dress, it's almost got a chambray feel to it.

Ok my brave ones, my girls who have been working it at the gym all summer, wear these loud and proud.

Nordstrom, Rio Carnival Kite Scarf, $38
The tassels on this scarf really make it. Just gorgeous and fun.

There is nothing skater about this skirt, if anything it's ballerina.

What type of ombre have you tried? I love the ombre nail look but man does it look complicated! I think I'll stick to fashion.

Not a Curtain

Hey lovebugs,
I'm back from my very well rested vacation in New Hampshire. I hope you enjoyed the fabulous bloggers who were nice enough to fill in for me while I was away. Today we're getting right back into it and looking a great style of dress that flatters any shape or size, the drape.

Nordstrom, Max & Cleo Lylia, $75
What a stunner this dress is. I'm thinking about getting it for a September wedding.

A great priced dress for a Saturday night out with the girls. I'd add some silver earrings and go!

I'm sorry an Elie Tahari for $62? Just say yes.

Banana Republic, Cowlneck matte jersey dress, $98
I would feel like one hot Barbie in this number.

A dress with some draping can be really beautiful when it lays correctly. For taller, thinner women try the draping tighter to the waistline, for those of us trying to conceal something a loser drape that cascades is the best bet.
