Old Man Style

Hey there lovebugs,
I don't know about you, but when I think of grandpa style, I think elbow patches. They're preppy, classy and just cool. Lets see how us ladies can style it!

Topshop, Boxy Striped Elbow Tee, $44
A little nautical, and the 3/4 sleeve length makes it perfect for right now.

How sweet is this? I'm loving this layered with a striped oxford underneath.

Modcloth, Wise Words Dress, $79
I am dying to pair this with a neon skinny belt and go get a mimosa.

Great color, this would also work with some bright cropped pants.

I love elbow patches because it has a little old school mixed with girly style.

Belted

Sometimes a shirt just hangs there. It doesn't seem to hug the right places or understand that it needs to not look like a sack. Then there is the belted top; the perfect solution to all of these problems.

Target, Belted Raglan Top, $19
I really love this color, it would look great with jeans. The neckline is has a great simple gather to it that draws just enough attention.

Usually this style has a belt that is the same color and material, but this is something special. A double wrap rope belt.

I love that this is shown with shorts, because button downs can be playful for summer too. I would add a bright orange bauble necklace.

JC Penny, Bisou Bisou Belted Top, $25
Look at this great crochet detail on the hem and the shoulders. So beautiful.

Belting has been big this winter and fall, and there is no reason you can't continue it into the warmer months.

Wrap Me Up

Happy Monday lovebugs,
How was your weekend? I hope you found some great sales! Today I wanted to look at a really great shape for spring and summer, it pretty much screams sassy and sexy; I'm talking about the wrap skirt.

Bloomingdale's, Ella Moss high low faux wrap, $78
This gorgeous skirt is ready for date night; pair with some patent neon heeled sandals and hello glamor.

How sweet is is this skirt? So soft and feminine.

Calvin Klein, Solid wrap skirt, $54
Great pastel color, this with nude pumps would make your legs look miles long.

Antropologie, Draped Viola Skirt, $98
This faux wrap is fantastic. An interesting print and soft material that is great to go from day to night.

How do you style wrap dresses? Do you usually pair with flats or pumps? These skirts are so versatile, I just love all prints and styles of them.

Happy Friday lovebugs, I'm so ready for it. These recipes are special for Cinco de Mayo!

Spice Rubbed Shrimp with Spaghetti Salsa Verde
c/o Stephanie Cooks
Ingredients

1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1/2 teaspoon coarse grind black pepper
1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil, divided
1 finely chopped white onion
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 cup salsa verde
1 14.5-ounce can petite diced tomatoes
1/2 cup sour cream

Directions
1- Cook pasta according to package directions and drain. Set aside.
2- Place chili powder, smoked paprika, cumin, garlic powder, salt and pepper into a small bowl, stirring to combine.

3- Pat the shrimp dry, then place in the spices and rub into both sides.
4- Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a large, oven-safe pot over medium heat. Add shrimp and cook until pink on both sides, about 3-4 minutes each side.
5- Remove from pan and cover with foil until ready to serve.
6- In the now-empty skillet, heat 2 tablespoons oil over medium heat. Add onions and garlic, cooking and stirring until tender, about 5 minutes. Add salsa, tomatoes, and sour cream, stirring to combine. Just before serving add cooled pasta to the sauce and stir to combine. Top with the shrimp.

Guacamole
c/o Lauren's Latest
Ingredients

2 ripe Haas avocados
1 lime, juiced
1 garlic clove, finely minced
salt
pepper
1 small roma tomato, diced
2 tablespoons cilantro, chopped

Directions
Open ripe avocados, remove the seed and scoop out the flesh into a large bowl. Squeeze lime juice over avocados and mash slightly. Stir in remaining ingredients and serve! I find it is best when you let the guacamole sit in the fridge 20-30 minutes to let the garlic work its magic.
