Come Sail Away

Here we are. Friday Eve. Thank goodness. I'm ready for the weekend, sunshine, and summer. While I might be city bound, I'm dreaming of the sea. I love the boat motif for women's clothing because it's graphic yet nautical. You don't need stripes or high waisted sailor pants (though, they don't hurt) you can wear a boat and they're adorable.

Jack Wills, Raddery Sailing Print Dress, $89
So sweet. I love this for a night out on the (beach) town.

A simple tank that is completely versatile, heck I'd wear it under a blazer to work on a Friday.

Shirt dress in the most unique shape. Check out the way this waist knot nips in at then waist.

Half off right now!! And look at the detail with the ship wheel ties!

Whether you're going to the surf or stuck on the sand, the boat print is perfect for summer!

Blue's Clues

We all know that radiant orchid is the color of 2014, but I'm not quite over this beautiful blue. I'm talking about cobalt. It's so rich and eye catching and I can't get enough of it. It pairs beautifully with yellows, plums, and even black.

This strong blouse commands attention. The black lines are cut perfectly, and yet, the shirt is a sheer lightweight material making the top feel airy and feminine.

This statement earring is all you need to complete the perfect lbd look or maybe throw on some jeans and loose blouse with these beauties.

Banana Republic, Lightweight Wool Pencil Skirt, $89
Ok, here's something I will spend on. This is a well constructed pencil skirt in a material that is four seasons. It's fully lined, double vented, and a beautiful alternative to navy.

Ankle pant cords are perfect for this time of year and into early spring. Throw on heels show some ankle and get going.

Cobalt is that perfect shade of blue for all four seasons. You can find it on bags, shoes, clothes, jewelry you name it. Why is it so popular? Because this vibrant color looks great on everyone.

Walk the Panel

We all know leather is huge this season. Leather shoulder details, leather jackets, even leather pants. Don't worry we'll get there with the last one. Today I thought we would start slowly and look at some leather panel pants. Let's get our feet wet ladies.

I like this option because the jean has a bit more structure than your standard legging.

These are adorable! The equestrian flair is so sexy in leather!

Originally $109 these leggings are easy to dress up with a silk button down and some bling.

And a blue option, because why not?

Leather panel pants are a great way to ease into the full on leather pant trend. Pair these bottoms with a blazer for work or a denim jacket for girls night out.

Plum Luck

It's been too long since we've done a nail polish inspired post. And I'm feeling plumy. Look at this gorgeous OPI Plugged in Plum color.

Originally $117. You can't beat this girly peplum top!

I don't think this model will ever need to understand "stretch" jeans but for the rest of us, these rock.

Yes plum! Do you have green eyes? Try purple mascara for an extra kick!

Oh how comfy does this maxi look? The beautiful waistband is a little boho-chic.

As you may know by now, purple is my favorite color; and these saturated version like plum are just beautiful.

Accordion Skirts

Accordion skirts are a ladylike style that I'm loving for the winter. They have great flow and go with just about anything.

Forever 21, polka dot accordion skirt, $24
I love the ribbon waistband and we all know I'm a sucker for dots.

I'd pair this with a tie neck blouse. Perfect for work.

This is a great mini, I'd pair it with tights are a v-neck sweater.

This is gorgeous. I love the chocolate color, I love the waist, together it's very retro.

Do you own any accordion skirts? They're a great option to mix in with your pencil skirts.

The Perfect Holiday Outfit

Merry Christmas Eve Eve lovebugs!

I hope you are all heading to family and friends homes today and tomorrow.  Spending time with loved ones and giving gifts from the heart.  I'm so happy to have been a part of you daily reading this holiday season and I cannot wait to continue in 2011.

Today's post is about the perfect semi-dressy outfit for __________. You know what I mean, church, Christmas dinner, holiday party, take your pick.  You want to look fabulous (obvi) but you don't want to look like a walking Christmas card either.  My advice is to stick with a few basics: cords, chunky sweaters, dresses and skirts with tights.  Use your accessories to show you Christmas spirit.

Love, love, love.  Wear with a long necklace or a skinny belt.

Ann Taylor, Flocked plaid mini, $47 with code SAVE40
I love this skirt, so much visual impact without making your hips look wide.

Halogen, Beaded sweater, $39
I love the embellishment right down to the top of the pockets. Pair this with black skinny cords.

Modcloth, Sheer with me dress, $52.99
Not too holiday, just perfect for dinner or a party with maybe a shoe like this.....

Modcloth, Deck the toes, $30
