Old Faithful

Sometimes its about staples. Not the bold print, the cutting hemline, its about the perfect base that fits beautifully, and never lets you down. Today that is the black ankle pant. Not a legging, not a jean, a fitted, structured, black ankle pant.

It's not shocking that Vince Camuto makes a stunning pair of black pants. This pair is simple perfection.

Look at these great long lines. Clean and simple.

You don't have to spend a bundle to get a great pair of pants. I love Old Navy pixie pants.

A little bit of ponte adds the perfect amount of stretch with structure.

While I love talking about dots, stripes, florals, and color blocking, sometimes you just need a great pair of black pants. These four won't do you wrong.

Colorful Crepe Crops

Yesterday we looked at some unlikely workwear bottoms, today I thought we would keep the trend going with some crepe crop pants. They're perfect for summer because they're light and easy to pair with a simple top and a statement necklace.

I mean, come on. These pants just scream spring! Rosy pink that you can dress down with flats or dress up with some heels and a blazer.

Nordstrom, Halogen Wide Leg Crop Pant, $78 $31
55% off? Don't mind if I do! Love this minty blue pastel color!

Dorothy Perkins, Black Crepe Wide Leg Crop Trouser, $44 $27
Looking for something basic? Try these black pants to wear with some bold prints and button downs.

Nordstrom Rack, Vince Camuto Pleated Culotte, $119 $59
This color. So saturated and rich! And the price? Yes.

I love a comfy crepe in a crop length for work because it's something different but versatile. Just like we get weary deep into sweater weather, you're going to feel the same fatigue for sundresses, so try these crops on for size.

Workhorse Wrap

Happy Monday lovebugs,
I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I thought we would jump right into some workwear this Monday with a versatile staple that looks chic while going with everything in your closet. The wrap skirt. It's a great transition piece for chilly weather to spring because you can pair it with booties or sandals.

A simple print that can be styled with sneakers or sandals. Pair it with a tee or a sweater.

Wrap skirts aren't just for daytime. Check out this sexy stripe. Date night ready.

Anthropologie, Fornea Denim Wrap Skirt, $79
That 70s feel with crazy soft denim.

Simple, adjustable waist, great length. This skirt is just beautiful for work or play.

A wrap skirt even a faux wrap is great for spring. You can mix and match with cardigans, printed blouses, and t-shirts.

Colorful Culottes

Let's talk culottes. They're back and I think we've figured out how to style them. We being us normal lady bosses who are just trying to look amazing on a daily basis. Culottes are tough but I think with the soft pant trend we embraced last summer, culottes are a little easier to wear. Today we're looking at some great printed options.

I need these pants. Is gifting for St. Patrick's Day a thing? Can we make it a thing? Because this is what I want.

Is it a skirt? Nope, just the most comfortable high waisted culottes ever. Finish the look with this matching top.

I usually try not to post two of the same retailer in one post, but when you've got it, you've got it. This print reminds me of an adult coloring book in the best spring way possible.

Want to try the trend without the investment? I've got you covered. A neon floral oversized print for under ten bucks.

So how about it? Ready to try the trend? Sure you can grab a navy or black pair and test the waters, but why not dive in? The waters fine. Go with a print. You're going to look amazing.

Makes Wide Turns

You know what simple trend I love for workwear? Wide leg trousers. I think they are crazy chic and make such a statement, which is tough to do with pants. When I did a quick search for them, everything I found was linen or resort wear. I'm sorry, but it's 7 degrees here. So I kept digging, and found these great winter options.

I'm telling you, you can wear this. It's corporate, feminine, and creates a teeny waist.

Loft, Peppered Tweed Pleated Wide Leg Trouser, $69 (extra 40% off today!)
Ooooh this texture. These pants are long and lean and a bit Olivia Pope.

A bit bolder but this elastic waist is comfort central.

I know there aren't many sizes left, but I had to grab this pair because of the price!

Wide leg trousers are an easy way to boost the wardrobe up a notch. They're versatile, dressy, and work with tops and sweaters that are already in your closet!
