All In the Details

Who else is bracing for snow right now? Cool. I thought we would think warm thoughts on this impending arctic storm, and look at some spring embroidered bags. They are chock full of detail and a perfect distraction to these frigid temps.

This bucket bag is a steal. I love the colors!

This bag needs to be on vacation. It needs sunshine and happy hours.

Asos, Park Lane Embroidered Bag, $110 $61
Looking for something for evening? This metallic embroidery has a vintage look and feel.

Forever 21, Raj LA Embroidered Bag, $58
A little weekender bag that won't be mistaken as another black tote bag.

So bundle up, stock up on milk, and batteries, and shop these bright and cheery bags!

Vacation Ti Amo

My good friend is going to the Amalfi Coast on vacation. I know, hate away. So unfair and so jealous. But also a bit inspiring when it comes to fashion. I thought I would live vicariously through her with some Mediterranean feeling pieces.

Ann Taylor, Amalfi Button Skirt, $64
Getaway ready with a beautiful sleeveless blouse. Perfect for a late night dinner.

Madewell, Positano Ti Amo Tee, $45
Not your average tee. The graphic is actually embroidered. So special and different.

Obsessed with this color and style. Casual but eye catching.

Athleta, Ibiza Mesh Shopper, $72 $24
Major sale on this effortless beach bag. Also comes in navy or brown.

Whether your jet setting in the near future or just have some wanderlust, these Mediterranean inspired pieces are just perfect.

Flippin' Adorable

As I mentioned yesterday I'm headed on vacation this week and it's got me thinking lake-weather attire. It's mid-July and it's flip flop season so here are some pretty fantastic and colorful sandals.

Minty green with purple and a bow? Sign me up.

Great colors and printed texture.

Lilly Pulitzer, Lobstah Roll, $38
These are probably the happiest flip flops I've ever laid eyes on.

Nordstrom, Havaianas Slim Flip Flop, $30
A little geometric print, some ikat, all awesome.

Who doesn't need to upgrade their rubber flip flop inventory? These great brands are bringing colorful and comfy options right to your feet.

Sandcastles in the Sand

Hey there lovebugs,
Happy Tuesday. We are going on vacation today. You know those pieces of seaglass that you find on the beach when you're strolling romantically in the sunset? Totally. It's chemically weathered glass from salt water that gives it a frosted look. It makes for some beautiful jewelry and it's what we're talking about today.

I love this feminine pink but the shapes are unpredictable and funky.

These earring are so different. The shapes ragged in the fanciest way.

I love this modern necklace with the gradient blues and shapes.

Simple, earthy, pop of color.

A simple texture brings such life to an outfit. Seaglass is a great example of how something unexpected can be beautiful.

Party All Night Long

This weekend I am embarking on a very glamorous trip near the Atlantic Ocean. Just kidding. Let's try this again: this weekend my friends and I are cramming into a car to go to Atlantic City to get sun, gamble, and dance. I've never been to the Vegas of New Jersey but with $75 gambling budget, a bikini, and some of my best gays I'm sure it will be a good time.

Saturday we will inevitably end up wanting to go out and dance. In an effort not to look like Snooki I am going to lay out some of my top picks for a Saturday night out.

Judge me all you want but Target has adorable dresses. Especially if you can get to the store to try them on instead of size guessing online. This little number I'd pair with black strappy heels and maybe even rock the Snooki poof:

Target, Xhilaration Color Blocked Tank Dress, $15

Next choice is a tiny LBD that I just love. The cut out style has done so well this season. I would pair this with neon stilettos and let everyone drool.

Nordstrom, Flounce tbd Peekaboo, $58

Finally a print that can go from day to night. Victoria Secret clothing isn't always my favorite, but I just couldn't resist this feminine yet covered party dress. Since this is a day to evening dress I'd grab a pair of patent leather flat sandals to go with it.

Victoria's Secret, Corset Playdress, $49

The Day After the Week of Fun

It's the vacation hangover post. I'm back at work- which is fine, but I'm still in the "how long can I stretch this relaxation feeling?" mode. So to add to that lovely vibe-here are some of my favorite pictures from my family vacation in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire.

This is my younger sister, Sara, and our friend, Anna, tubing on Lake Winnepasaukee.

On the back of the boat with Mom (who is looking fabulously nautical), Anna, and my sister (who managed to keep her eyes open in this sun filled picture!

My dad works too hard during the year. This is his once a year true vacation. Here he is enjoying the dock.

This is Sam dog. She is attempting to be a lake dog but more often than not she can be found in the house, asleep on the overstuffed couch.

My very TAN family celebrating Sara's belated 21st birthday with the family at Garwood's.
And finally, me with my girl, Sam relaxing on the dock.

Ah, that was nice wasn't it? A little sun, some fun in the water, and of course family time. Tomorrow it's back to the grindstone...well maybe.

Nationals Weekend

A note to all of my loyal readers (or just the bf...let's be real) I'll be on vacation next week with my family in New Hampshire, so no posts. Try to make it through the week without me.

But, before I jet off to Lake Winnepasaukee. Let's talk about America's favorite past time. Baseball.

The bf and I will be entertaining some of his relatives who are coming in from out of town for the Phillies v Nats games this weekend. I wanted to take a moment to tell you how freakin' awesome the games are. But since this is a girly blog, let's start with the outfit.

My favorite part of a Nationals game is the President's Race; mostly because I am dedicated member of the "Let Teddy Win" campaign. It's a small grass-roots effort, but I think with the right advertising it could take off. Enter, my Teddy tee:

Roosevelt #26 Jersey, Let Teddy Win, $25

For the hat I like the old-school look:

Lids, Nationals Forty-Seven Brand Hat, $25

OK, moving on to the food. Three words: Ben's Chili Bowl. That's all you need to know. Don't question it, don't even look around. Just head to Ben's. Period. I recommend the half smoke (no mustard) and chili cheese fries served with a fork. Trust me.

For a drink, there really is no way around it- it's going to be expensive. For the boys, a standard Bud or Miller Lite will run you around eight bucks but if you're feeling wild and want to get more bang for your buck, head to the margarita stand and spend $12 for a giant yard glass.

Finally, a few words of wisdom: stay for the fireworks, make fun of Clint the announcer guy, stand for the troops when they salute them, and dance to the at-bat music.
Play Ball and Go Nats!
