Bombs Away

Happy Monday lovebugs,
There is a chill in the air here on the East Coast. Do you feel it? It's fall kids, and I love it. It's time for layers, boots, and light jackets. We've discussed vests which are a great option for fall. And last week we looked at blanket scarves . Today we're talking bomber jackets, and boy do we have some options.

Didn't see that coming, did you? I know. I'm in love.

This jacket looks so cozy and casual. Want to have some fun with it? How about adding a sassy pin

A beautiful fall floral hue. Oh that navy.

Worn in, relaxed, soft, casual, I can keep going...

The bomber jacket isn't just for the boys. These patterns, quilted details, and colors are perfect for us and perfect for right now.

What a Stud!

Let's get a little rock and roll today. A little wild from my usual prep-classic style. I'm talking studs. nothing offensive, but edgy. A little unexpected. And I love these studded skirts because I can balance them with a feminine silk tie blouse or keep it sassy with a jean jacket.

Bloomingdale's, Studded Flare Skirt, $54 $47
I'm starting with my favorite. The vertical studding lengthens the legs and the flare does exactly what it's supposed to do.

A sassy pencil option that is in a sturdy ponte fabric.

Love this wrap with gunmetal studding. The back also features an exposed zipper.

Not so much for this trend? How about the quietest of options that still fits the bill.

The studded skirt is a fun way to inject some energy into your wardrobe. Whether you're a prep, rocker, or boho, anyone can pull off this trend.

Don't Be A Tulle

Let's talk tulle. Not your grade school ballerina tulle, but perhaps inspired by. I'm talking tulle you can wear in public and pull off for a date or drinks with the girls. Something feminine and something pretty.

This floral embroidery is so delicate that it borders on lace. I love the airy quality of the skirt. Dress it for work with a blazer or a crop top for the weekend.

Anthropologie, Tulle Trim Chemise, $68
This will be your go to summer dress. A great high low hem and a simple scoop neck is all you need on a hot summer night.

This skirt is longer and lays flatter. The contrasting hem dresses it up and the gray is a nice variation from a stark white option.

Forever 21, Ballerina Glam Tulle Dress, $22
And here you thought tulle has to be sweet. Throw on this sassy dress for a night out with the girls.

Tulle is not for prom anymore, it's a seven days a week fabric and you have to own it.

5th Century Chic

Ah, sweater weather. One of my favorite times of the year. And while it may not be wool and cashmere time just yet, you can get away with a cardi here and there. One cardigan style that I'm really loving is the kimono cardi. It's relaxed and chic and its perfect for right now.

This stripe will be a staple in your closet. I love the rounded hem and open front.

Dorothy Perkins, Black/stone waterfall cardigan, $55
Talk about a great print. This would pair so well with cords or jeans.

Forever 21, Happy Hour Kimono, $27
I'm not sure where her pants went, but I love her sweater. It has an embossed rose pattern all over that is just the perfect detail.

This machine washable (key guys) tribal print inspired cardi is great for right now or layering later this winter.

The kimono cardi takes the sleeve style of the traditional and transforms it into the casual. These pieces are different than your buttoned up standard, and different in the best way possible.

Buffalo Plaid

Hey lovebugs! What did you think of Capital Ken! Please make him feel welcome around here. I hope he was helpful with gift ideas for the Ken in your life.

Today I thought we would look at one of my favorite patterns: buffalo plaid. It's a larger plaid that is perfect for winter.

Modcloth, Kilting me softly, $62
I love this for fall. What a beautiful full skirt with excellent attention to detail.

What a fantastic price for a heavy Tulle coat. I love the wide collar.

Definitelynot how I would style this shirt, I'm picturing a cami underneath and half buttoned shirt!

Tinley Road, Buckle Front Cape, $89
I like the idea of a cape, but it's really something you have to love the shape and color. This is very elegant and simple.

I love plaid for winter because it's kind of burly but comfy at the same time. Tartan offers a little more structure with the width of the plaid; whereas buffalo plaid is a much more casual pattern.
