There are a plethora of coats you can wear in the fall, the quilted, the anorak, and more but today we're looking at the trench; and while the khaki trench is classic, what's big this fall is the black trench. It's very sleek and subtle. Take a look at these options.

Are you more petite? This is a great option for you. Make sure the hem hits just below the waistline but not past the crotch.

Certainly something out of the box when you're thinking of the classic trench. I love the collar and faux leather belt.

On sale from $230! Woo! Try switching out this belt with a skinny glitter or neon belt.

I love a great trench for fall, if you're going to invest, I recommend finding one that is waterproof NOT water resistant. Pay attention ladies!

Staple Purchase: Trench

You guys,
I'm in the midst of a staple purchase.  What does that mean? It means I'm about to buy something that I will spend a little extra on because I will use it frequently and hopefully for years to come.  Much like the wallet post from yesterday.

Are you so excited to hear what I'm going to purchase? I know, I am too.  I am buying a Spring trench/rain coat/ bright color or patterned light jacket.  So many things this purchase needs to accomplish!  I've narrowed it down to a few choices.  Let me know what you think!

Canvas, Patterned merriweather coat, $89

This is the front-runner right now. I like color, pattern, detachable hood and belt.

Nordstrom, Gallery Hooded Trench, $98

As I said before I do not want a khaki trench- this green is perfect!

Express, Ruffled bottom belted trench, $89

How sassy is this? The ruffles are so cheery.

Kohl's, LC Lauren Conrad Trench, $84

I love everything about this coat.  The lines are simple and clean, great length and that bow on the back.  Come on.  Love.

So what do you think? Did I miss any? When I'm doing a staple purchase I tend to mull over my options for at least a week before taking the plunge- so please, I'm open to suggestions!
