On the Road Again

It's one of the biggest travel weeks of the year and to celebrate, today's post will be the ultimate road trip outfit. The key is comfy, layers, and comfy.

Target, Graphic Sweatshirt, $19
A simple and sweet sweatshirt is perfect for comfort and style.
Forever 21, Fresh Plaid Shirt, $19
Its all about the layers in the car because you know dad is going to be blasting the A/C.

Is it a legging? But it looks like a jean! I know, and they're perfect.

A simple ballet flat is perfect for the road and these suede beauties come in a variety of colors, all on sale.

And last but not least a 'throw it all in, yes even that bottle of wine' bag.

In the past we've covered airport travel outfits, but for me a car is a more comfortable ride with good music, good conversation, and more friends and family to greet you at the end of the trip.

This Bag Was Made for Travelin'

Happy back from long weekend! Nothing like a good short week, am I right? I've been traveling the last two weekends and my go to bag pulls double duty. It's a flat oversized clutch. I love it because I can store my essentials in it and throw it in my larger purse, but I can also use it for a night out when I'm traveling. The key is the zipper top for easy access.

Banana Republic, Croc Embossed Oversized Clutch, $75
See what I mean? throw your magic waller, keys, phone and tickets in for travel and then use it later for dinner.

A great tassel detail makes this lush clutch look even richer but you'd never know from the price.

French Connection, Oversized Clutch, $68
Something a little more edgy.

And now some soft suede. Perfect for stow and go or a night out.

I like to try to travel light. Please note the word try. One way to cut down on items that are bulky like a bag, is to try this oversized clutch option. Do double duty!

Traveling for Turkey

Are you going to be boarding a plane, train, or bus to get where you need to go for this week's holiday? I will be flying up to Buffalo to see my relatives and I'm absolutely going to dress comfortably but I will not look like I just rolled out of bed. You know who I'm talking about, those women in their uggs and velour jumpsuits. Not cool, ladies, not cool.

Here are some of my must haves for traveling and looking stylish.

Talbots, Tweed no close cardi, $63
I love an open cardi for travel, easy to throw on and if you get something like a tweed or graphic pattern, you're instantly put together.

I love these jeans. They're comfortable, worn in and easy to wear slouchy boots or flats.

Old Navy, Sequined Ballet Flats, $19
These are perfect to slip on and off through airport security and the price is right too.

Anthrpologie, Caraz Striped Scarf, $68
A must have for travel. A scarf that you snuggle into in case the AC is on full blast.

Will you be traveling tomorrow or Thursday? Safe trip or enjoy being at home!

travel
Hi everyone! I'm thrilled to be guest posting today on TCB! I've been a longtime reader of Kelsey's blog. I read her blog weekly for inspiration and styling tips. To start you off, when I travel my favorite thing is to be as comfortable as possible, but looking effortlessly chic. I got the inspiration for this travel wardrobe from fashion blogger, Liz of the fashion blog, Late Afternoon. Her look is what I envisioned for a summer trip with a few essentials of my own listed below. Read on!

How to Pack for Thanksgiving Travel

As we all travel to our family and friends homes this Thanksgiving, most of us will be doing over-nighters which means packing.  Generally this is a 3 or 4 night trip so nothing epic, but still you don't want to use your giant tote bag either.

Today we will talk about fabulous suitcases fit for flying, busing, driving, or however else you may be getting to your destination.  Tomorrow I will feature what to wear to Thanksgiving dinner....think elastic!

Some people have a severe aversion to Vera but love her or hate her this duffel is the BEST carry on in the world because you can shove it under your seat on the plane if the overhead storage runs out.  And let me tell you from experience, it's ultra-durable!

Rockland, Giraffe Pink, $29
Feeling sassy? Try this rolling duffle bag!

SO many pattern options to choose from, this bag will never be mistaken for someone else's!

If you REALLY need a roller bag I just love this one.  The handle is curved too so its easier to maneuver.
