Mule Over Buddy

While espadrilles and flip flops are the shoes for summer, sometimes you have to dress it up a bit. You don't have to go digging for your stilettos though. Try mule sandals. They are cool, versatile, and pretty simple. I like them to dress up with a skirt or down with a romper. Very easy and very affordable.

See what I mean? You can pair this a culotte for work or shorts for the weekend!

Hello lipstick red perfection.

Do you love these? Because I love these. I love these even into early fall with bf jeans.

And why not some suede? For under $60!

A great stacked heel, chunky look, but with the right outfit and the right strut, the perfect summer shoe.

Future Is So Bright

Have you broken or lost your sunglasses at this point in the summer? Oh cool, me neither. Just in case though, I thought we would look at some great mirrored lens sunglasses. You know, just in case you need them in the future.

Bloomingdale's, Quay Tell Me Why Mirrored Sunglasses, $55
Feminine, sophisticated, effortless.

These remind me of a station wagon in the best surfer-girl way possible.

You can't beat the price for this ultra versatile pair of shades.

Feeling something a bit more retro? I've got you covered.

Whether you need new shades or just feel like splurging on an end of summer accessory. Mirrored sunglasses are the way to go this year.

Summer is for espadrilles. But let's mix things up with an espadrille sneaker. Yep. Blending sporty and summer to create the comfiest and chicest shoe!

See what I mean? So cute and comfy!

Sandcastles in the Sand

Hey there lovebugs,
Happy Tuesday. We are going on vacation today. You know those pieces of seaglass that you find on the beach when you're strolling romantically in the sunset? Totally. It's chemically weathered glass from salt water that gives it a frosted look. It makes for some beautiful jewelry and it's what we're talking about today.

I love this feminine pink but the shapes are unpredictable and funky.

These earring are so different. The shapes ragged in the fanciest way.

I love this modern necklace with the gradient blues and shapes.

Simple, earthy, pop of color.

A simple texture brings such life to an outfit. Seaglass is a great example of how something unexpected can be beautiful.

Raw Beauty

We all love bling. Big, small, statement, or sweet, we love a great piece of sparkle. What I am really leaning towards right now is the raw bling, specifically druzy. This stone brings a natural and unfinished look to any piece.

Rose gold, y'all. I mean come on. Stunning.

Sole Society, Natural Agate Bracelet, $54
Not your average wrap bangle, this has got some dimension.

Tom's Marketplace, Green Druzy Stone Earrings, $38
What a beautiful pop of color and these earrings help create jobs for artisans in Brazil.

A winter white stone is going to look beautiful against a cashmere sweater.

A beautiful stone will always take your outfit to the next level but they're often over your budget. These druzy options are perfect for your outfit and your wallet.

That Web You Weave

Let's talk sandals. It's pedicure time. Get those toes painted and looking good because it's time to let them breathe in sandals. Today's sandal pick is a woven one in monochrome. A very simple shoe that will be very versatile in your closet. I like the woven look because it's casual and easy.

Yes, that Billabong. Stay with me. How Anthro are these sandals? Love the price point.

You know the brand, you love the comfort, this sandal delivers all of that and more.

Forever 21, Faux Leather Woven Sandals, $17
A well-traveled pattern makes these sandals perfect for a fun weekend.

Sole Society, Lucky Brand Baheeti, $58
Simple, chic, denim-ready. That's about all you need to know.

Nothing too groundbreaking about this trend and that's why I love it. It's timeless and perfect for weekends or vacation.

Spend Some Give Some

Hi lovebugs, I hope you had a nice weekend. Today we are taking a look at some great pieces of fashion that give back. Shop for a cause if you will. There a ton of retailers out there doing good work. Today we're going to congratulate just a few of them.

Angela Roi's vegan leather bags come in a variety of colors, each one supports a different cause. Orange is for fighting kidney disease.

Tom's, Correa Sandal, $59
We all know and love Tom's story, and when I read Jonathan Adler teamed up with them and added his colorful patterns to these comfy sandals, I had to have em.

This adorable (and personalize-able) tote benefits the David Sheldrick Trust that helps save endangered African elephants.

Stella and Dot, Hope Necklace, $69
100% of the proceeds from the this necklace goes to support women's cancer research.

So let's try to spread a little love when we spend. What are your favorite ways to shop for a cause?

Inspired by Kate

Hey lovebugs!
Happy Monday! How was your weekend? It was a scorcher here in DC. Lots of sundresses and sandals.

Today I wanted to talk about a recent love of mine and I guess Kate Spade has fallen in love with it too.  Gold!  Normally gold is seen in jewelry, but today let's look at some fabulous gold clothing pieces.

Doesn't this dress remind you of a sock hop number from Grease? I just love it!

Lulu's, Cute gold skirt, $47
I really love the floating effect of this skirt.  It's ready for a spin!

I'm still warming up to Tom's shoes, but these are so much fun for a weekend of running around.

Neiman Marcus, Berek Outer Beauty Blouse, $50
The bell sleeves here are gorgeous.  Perfect to dress up or down.

I really love the elegance of the metallic in gold.  It matches everything and it's so shimmery and gorgeous for summer.

Canvas Wedges!

Hey lovebugs!
How was everyone's weekend?  Any BBQs or brave bikini bods? I hope you enjoyed, and this week will be a quick one, I promise!

Today I want to dive into a fabulous pair of summer shoes.  Not just the wedge but the canvas wedge.  Canvas along with linen are the two staple mediums of summer fashion.  So what better way to dress up a sundress or a pair of madras shorts then with a great pair of canvas wedges?

Urban Outfitters, Cooperative Canvas Wedge Heel, $49
Summer? I'd like you to meet my feet, feet please meet summer.

I love this khaki color because it is so versatile.  How cute are these with a white eyelet dress OR a saturated green pair of ankle pants.

Tom's, Red canvas wedges, $69
I have yet to get on the Tom's bandwagon, but these beachy wedges could change my mind!

Michael Kors, Meg Wedge, $68
It's rare you find a wedge that is downright sexy.  This is so simple, to the point, and just that.

What do you think? Worth a try this summer?  I think they are a great pair to mix in to your summer wardrobe.
