When Life Gives You Lemons

Happy Monday, lovebugs. I hope you had a lovely weekend. Here we are mid-April and the weather is pointing towards warm with a side of happy. And even though it's Monday, I thought we would make lemonade out of it. That's right, how about a lemon print on this sweet Monday?

A great allover print with some special details like a scoop neckline, keyhole peek, and cap sleeves.

This would look amazing with a denim jacket or a white eyelet dress.

For under $20, you're going to get a ton of wear out of this top. Work or play, it's a great option.

Nordstrom, JCrew Lemon Tree Earrings, $58
So fun and colorful. Ok, even tropical.

Sure, it's Monday, and maybe you've got some lemons. So make lemonade, or buy something with lemons on it. Either way, smile.

Twirl So Hard

Happy Friday Eve!

I thought we would dress things up around here and play. When we were younger that mean putting on something fun and twirling. We don't twirl enough anymore. Right? You know what twirls super well? Pleated maxi skirts. I really love the patterned ones because they're punchy, unexpected, and twirly.

Picture this: night out with a black silk came and tassel earrings THEN Saturday afternoon chambray button down and tie the waist.

Oh hey Badgley Mischka for under $100!

I dare you to have a bad day in this skirt.

This pattern has movement, even standing still, it's got style.

So get to twirling. Play with patterns, don't let a maxi skirt shy you away from prints. These skirts make an impact in the best ways possible!

Greater Lengths

Happy Monday lovebugs,
It was a relaxing weekend here in DC and even though we are still dealing with off and on rain, the sun made a few appearances. Today I thought we would look at a trend that isn't necessarily my favorite style but figuring out how to make it work for me. The bohemian trend. Breezy, cool, and twirly (yes that's the technical term). I'm more of a fitted or structured kind of girl, but I can take the maxi skirt boho trend and make it work for a more streamlined look.

This skirt is going to be a workhorse in your summer wardrobe. Crisp white with a faux wrap silhouette.

Nasty Gal, Bialik Floral Maxi Skirt, $88 $44
Major sale alert! How gorgeous is this red skirt? Zoom in and you can see the feminine lace overlay.

Urban Outfitters, Kimchi Blue Pleated Maxi Skirt, $89 $69
A beautiful blue and pleats that will make your legs look model-like long.

TJMaxx, Polka Dot Maxi Skirt, $19
I'd pair this print with a contrasting one on top like a pink pinstripe of floral.

While the boho trend isn't in my comfort zone, I can play with a piece of this style that work for me. Don't shy away from trends, make them work for you!

How Original

Florals for spring, how original. But hang on, florals have changed. They've been upgraded. Florals are not just Easter Sunday or pretty cupcake prints anymore, oh no. They're oversized, unexpected colors, and nothing you'd expect. Today we're taking on florals in work-ready pencil skirts.

See what I told you? Didn't see this one coming. So crisp and fresh for spring.

A little That 70s Show but pair it with a silk bow blouse and you're ready for 9-5.

This skirt is going to hug your hips and slim your waist.

Can't beat the price! This is something out of an adult coloring book and I love it.

Don't pass on floral this spring. I promise you can find something that is going to work with tops that are already in your closet. Play with stripes or dots on top to really add a punch.
