You Can Touch This

Let's talk texture. It's just about sweater weather and I love nothing more than a knit that gives a little something extra. A sweater that isn't just crewneck or cardigan, it's got some feeling, something that gives a little oomph. These sweaters are under budget and lovely to the touch.

I love a good Madewell sale and this sweater doesn't disappoint. Choose from six other colors but I love this sandy gold.

This sweater is crazy soft. The oversized fit and cowl neck just adds to the comfort level.

JCrew Factory, Textured Curved Hem Sweater, $39
Who doesn't need a beautiful dark green sweater in their closet? Right.

Old Navy, Textured Stitch Sweater, $34
A simple navy sweater is great for layering. This piece also has tunic-like side slits for a little something extra.

We will talk about a lot of sweaters this season, but starting things out with texture is just the way to kick things off.

No Cropping Needed

I really am warming up to this crop top trend. We first looked at this piece in the spring and now I want to revisit with some fun summer options. An easy way to wear this trend is a simple cotton option. Today we're stepping it up with some textured looks. These crop tops have something a bit extra.

Lord and Taylor, BCBGeneration Patterned Crop Top, $40
This color is called whisper white ad I think it's appropriate to describe the color and the pattern. So simple.

Last Call Neiman Marcus, 5twelve Floral Lace Cropped Top, $59
A nice shimmer to go with this lace. I like this for a dressier look.

Originally $97 this top has a beautiful crochet pattern and it perfect to pair with a simple cami.

How special is this top? Feminine and in a stunning coral, plus under $50!

Crop tops can be dressed up. Look for texture, color, and embellishment that make all of the difference.

It's So Fluffy!

Let's talk texture. Sweater texture and material is critical for maximum comfiness but it also offers a third dimension to your outfit. Texture can create pattern or additional 'touch ability' to your top. You know what I mean. Similar to my all time favorite gif.

Asos, Bellfield Fluffy Sweater, $56 $39
This sweater reminds me of a light dusting of snow and it looks so cozy.

A blend of alpaca and merino means Lou and Grey is taking really good card of your comfort.

JCrew, Mohair Fuzzy Stripe Sweater, $98 $80
A preppy stripe option with a great ribbed neckline.

Anthropologie, Irina Pullover, $98
Oh this fine gauge sweater is so luxe. I also love the chiffon detailing, so unexpected.

So if you're looking for cozy, you don't always need to look for cashmere. Try mohair, alpaca, and a fine gauge knit.
