Hoop Earrings Were Her Thing

Sometimes a statement earring can be daunting. Too big, too clingy, too many colors. And a simple hoop earring doesn't always do the trick. My advice, look for a circular drop earring that turns heads without being overwhelming.

See what I mean? Simple but statement maker.

Colorful without being stuffy preppy.

Something more monochrome but no shortage on the beauty.

Pretty fantastic combination of colors and textures.

Why wear hoops when you can wear something so much more fun?

Star Studded Sandal

Happy hump day lovebugs,
I thought we would spend today teasing ourselves with some summer shoes. The stacked heel is back and better than ever, and when it comes to sandals I like to make it a little less feminine and add some studs.

Sam Edelman, Cam Studded Heel Sandal, $160 $62
These heels are to die for with shorts, a sundress, or jeans.

Edgy glam never looked so comfortable.

Nordtsrom Rack, Louise et Cie Kellyn Studded Sandal, $153 $69
This shoe has so much personality. I love the ankle strap.

Yes it's pricey, but look at that color.

Studs do not have to mean motorcycle. Pull them off with a lovely sandal that you can wear without just about anything.

Swinging Good Time

Let's play with tassels today. Swingy, eye-catching, and fun earrings that make a statement. But, I'm putting another layer to this awesomeness - all of these picks are under $40.

I love the ombre blue mixed with the jewel stud!

Nordstrom, Madewell Tassel Earring, $28
Beautiful Aztec inspired metal with a pop of turquoise to finish.

BaubleBar, PiƱata Tassel Drops, $36
These earrings come in a dozen colors, but I'm partial to the monochrome because they go with everything.

Sole Society, Stone Tassel Earring, $36
A beautiful pop of coral perfect to match with oranges and yellows.

Tassels are great accessories because they have movement. Swingy, playful, and just fun to wear.

Stage Four Clinger

Alright, yesterday we talked about the military jacket for spring, now let's look at the accessory for the season: the choker. The good news is this necklace has been seriously upgraded from the thin ribbon you remember. Oh yes, they've been dressed up.

Sole Society, Beaded Choker, $49
How about this little work of art? So much texture and elegance.

BaubleBar, Dominque Choker, $34
Shiny without being blingy.

Simple and sweet but still makes a statement.

Anthropologie, Layered Stone Choker, $78
Seriously, this is not what you thought the choker trend would be.

The new choker trend has truly evolved. The stones, beads, and other pieces really elevate this accessory.

It is prime boot season and what better way to dress up down your wardrobe than with a great knee boot. They're sometimes tough to find under $100 but I've got you covered today with some beautiful suede knee boots that won't break your budget.

A beautiful rust shade that will go with just about anything in your closet.

Talk about a deal! These chocolate beauties must be mine!

Don't spend a zillion bucks on a boot and then feel buyers remorse. There are a ton options under $100 and they are just as stunning!

Panel Discussion

Oh hello there Monday. There you are again. Are we used to writing/typing 2017 yet? Well I'm not. But when it comes to a new year, I'm all about a new bag. I like something fresh to loose my chapstick and hair ties in. This season I'm really loving the panel trend because it's eye catching without an explosive pattern of graphic.

Sole Society, Rosamund, $79
Suede panels make this bag all the more interesting. Great lines.

Selfridges & Co., Aldo Etaycien Cross Body, $47
Great colors for winter. Sleek and neutral.

Something a little more casual but still fantastic.

Dorothy Perkins, Navy Panel Dome Purse, $17
What a sleek going out clutch or toss it into a larger bag as your go to wallet/phone case.

Paneling is like color blocking for textures and I love it on bags. Play with colors that work for you. I like a bag that I know I can make work for most of the clothing in my closet.

When I say poncho, do you cringe? It's ok. Ponchos have improved. Drastically. They are a fantastic sweater or outwear piece the is chic and NOT poncho-y. Today we're looking at poncho sweaters which are great to pair with leggings or dress up with a drop earring.

Last Call Neiman Marcus, Sweet Romeo Cowl Neck Poncho, $88 $59
See? A lovely staple in a shade that goes with anything.

Ann Taylor, Extrafine Merino Wool Poncho, $129 $99
I can't even begin to tell you how soft this sweater is. It's like silk!

Macy's, Alfani Turtleneck Poncho, $59 $39
I love this color. It's so rich and perfect to pair with a jewel toned statement necklace.

Sole Society, Fringe Turtleneck Poncho, $74 $44
A beautiful limited edition sweater that is crazy cozy.

Still too roomy for you? Try adding a skinny belt at mid-waist to better define an hourglass shape!

A Tassel Old As Time

Earlier this week we looked at tassel loafers. Today we're going back to tassels but in an accessory. Tassel jewelry is a great way to add some playfulness to your outfit. I love tassel earrings for work or play because they come in so many colors and styles there is always something that works for you.

I love these statement earrings, and they come in five other colors.

BaubleBar, PiƱata Tassel Drops, $36
A beautiful beaded option to dress up an LBD or jeans. Also comes in a dozen other colors!

Not feeling the beaded? Try these faux leather rocker styled drops.

Club Monaco, Small Tassel Earrings, $15
A small accessory with a punch. I love the hoop style with the textured tassel.

A tassel earring is so versatile for casual to black tie. The price points are easy to stay in budget and there is something for everyone.

Pointed in the Right Direction

Hello, hello! It is Tuesday and while we're a long ways from Friday, shoes make everything better. Especially sassy flats. And today, I've got a doozy for you today - pointy toe tassel loafers.

I mean, hello. Navy patent leather pointy tassel loafers. What more could a girl ask for?
I like the slight heel on this shoe. Gives it an edge to a ballet flat.

Nordstrom, Sole Society Hart Kittie, $79
Two tiny tassels with a d'Orsay shape make these perfect for fall and in winter with tights.

Nordstrom, Louise et Cie Aradella, $83
Currently 40% off (!!) these shoes are a classic neutral to go with anything.

So how about it? Switch out your heels for a flat with personality and command. Not as dainty as a ballet flat and not as masculine as a penny loafer. The tassel pointy toe is the perfect medium.

Be A Tassel Tale

Let's talk booties. Not J Lo booties, but rather shoe booties. The kind of bootie that is going to work all day long (well I suppose that could be either type as well). Anyway, it's time to tassel it up. An extra detail that adds a kick to your shoe game.

American Eagle, Tassel Heeled Bootie, $44
Hello soft and comfy beauty. You are coming home with me.

Modcloth, Sleek Dreams Bootie, $59
The best color bootie because it goes with black, brown, and denim.

Sole Society, Black Tassel Bootie Rumi, $99
Are these expensive? Yes. But think of the compliments. A simple rounded toe is perfectly balanced with a wrapped tassel.

Originally $175, these pointy toe lovelies are made for a good night out.

A bootie is a great cold weather investment because you will wear them everywhere. Whether they are flat, heeled, tasseled, or tie, grab some that work for your style and you will shine.
