Fancy Tee

So often when we think t-shirt we think a ratty, casual piece that isn't worth of much; but right now I'm loving silk tees. Last year it was embellished tees, but this year it's about the fabric. Check out these pieces.

Madewell, Picket Strip Tee, $89
Great rugby-like stripe on this tee. Dress it up with dark was skinny jeans and yellow heels.

Loving this bright yellow color and the zipper detail is just the right amount of rocker.

This is what I like to call blogger blue. A fantastic saturated color for any season.

Modcloth, Petal Pusher Top, $52
Well hello sweetness, aren't you just so delicate and divine?

Silk is so easy to throw on, add a bauble and walk out the door, it's light, colorful and so great for the warmer weather.

Silk Shirtdress

Hello lovebugs!

I'm absolutely loving silk this spring. It's easy to wear and comes in so many colors. Right now I'm loving silk shirtdresses. They are casual and cool and so chic.

Anthropologie, Mod Garden Dress, $99
Who doesn't love this great graphic print. The colors are just stunning. I'm personally picturing my good friend, LPU rocking this dress with some pointy toe shoes.

This dress is screaming for accessories! Belt it, add a long tassel necklace and add  great bag!

Modcloth, Beach Club Dress, $74
The pastel colors are just beautiful on this dress, I also love the pleating on the skirt.

Collective Concepts, Multi Stripe Shirt Dress, $79
Prefer some darker stripes? How about this fantastic number?

Silk is so perfect for a hot climate and something like a shirtdress is so easy to throw on and walk out the door!

Silk Shift

Do you ever get tired of your cotton dresses? Not that there is anything wrong with them, but sometimes you want something a little more dressy and luxurious feeling. Which is wear silk comes in.

Forever 21, silk colorblock shift, $32
They really nailed it with this dress.  Great colors, great shape, nice hemline.  I might belt it but otherwise, just perfect.

Max Studio, silk chiffon pique shift, $98
I really like the casual confidence of this dress.  It's got very no nonsense.

Modcloth, Across the pond dress, $80
So much detail in one shift.  I love the square neckline against the soft scallops.

BCBG, ruffle silk shift, $80
How great would this be for a wedding?

I'm really liking silk shifts for summer because they are so easy to throw on and go.  They might be a bit pricier but I think the cost per wear makes them a great piece to add to your wardrobe.

Pastels in Silk

Hey lovebugs,
Sorry for the later post this morning- it was a busy weekend!  How was yours? Any good buys? Did anyone indulge in the Kate Spade friends and family sale?

This morning I thought we would go with something light and bright.  I'm usually not one for pastels, I prefer more saturated colors- but when done in a silky fabric, it feels so light and luxurious.  What do you think?

The belt on this gives this lose fabric a defined waist.

Banana Republic, Crochet trim tunic, $35
This light tunic is perfect for the weekend.  Or tuck it into a pencil skirt for work.

How many weddings are you going to this summer? Right.  This is your new go to dress.

Nordstrom, Hinge Handkerchief Hem Silk Shirt, $88
This shirt is so sophisticated and cool.  It has just the right amount of detail and not too busy.

So what do you think? Are you liking silk for spring?  It's definitely an easy-breezy fabric for warmer weather.
