Flip It and Reverse It

Hump day blues? Let's warm up with double the style. I'm talking reversible scarves. Twice the pattern and style for one price.

This blanket scarf is a STEAL. Like holy cow. Wear it with chevron or the other side with a cheery plaid. I love this under a coat or belted with jeans.

Mango, Reversible Scarf, $22
Yellow plaid matches any other color in your closet. Just try not to look as terrified as this model.

A beautiful blue with pops of red. I prefer the blue and white side because I'd like the red to pop from underneath.

Oh hello cozy. Buffalo plaid is perfect with denim and LL Bean boots on a cold winter day.

So wrap up in something that will do double duty without twice the price. Pick up a reversible scarf that keeps you warm and stylish this January.

Blanket Statement

I'm seeing the blanket scarf trend everywhere. You've got Lacey, Kathy, and Danielle and other fabulous bloggers. I love this scarf trend. It's perfect to layer for fall with your favorite bf jeans, tie onto your purse for extra color, or bundle up in when it gets even colder. Today we're looking some great blanket scarf options that are under $70.

Shoptiques, Garance Blanket Scarf, $40
I love the color combination here because it will work with a khaki trench, a navy puffer vest, or a black winter coat.

Bloomingdale's, AQUA Oversized Plaid Scarf, $68
These colors are bright for the duller days of fall. I also love the pink option.

Boden, Skye Scarf, $58
Boden suggests using this scarf to 'outwit the weather' and I couldn't agree more.

Ralph Lauren, Desert Blanket Scarf, $42
Not so much for the plaid? How about this great western option?

So there you have it. You don't have to be a fabulous blogger to work a blanket scarf you just have to be your fabulous self! Try any of these options plus even more color combinations!

The Isle of Fair

The perfect winter pattern whether you are at the slopes or just bundling up on your walk to work is fair isle. It's a pattern that reminds you of hot chocolate and long underwear. Today we're looking at fair isle scarves.

Boden, Fair Isle Scarf, $46
A wool blend that will keep you warm. I really enjoy the mixing of the blues.

Who doesn't love a great snood? This cozy knit is going to go with any winter jacket and add the perfect amount of pattern.

A nice camel color with a fun fringe detail.

Forever 21, Reversible Fair Isle Scarf, $12 [Now sold out!]
Kind of an Aztec inspired print that you can wear two ways!

Fair isle is the perfect print for the dead of winter. Mix it up with a cozy scarf instead of the sweater and keep your outerwear fresh!

She's So Fake

Keeping with yesterday's holiday party theme, I thought we would move to dressed up scarves. Believe me, there is a time and place for this but when its cold and you've got your party dress on, it's time to swank it up. Enter the faux fur scarf.

Anthropologie, Ulrica Faux Fur Scarf, $78
This is glamour. This is how we dress up and grow up. Feel free to add some blinded out broach.

Ann Taylor, Faux Fur Scarf, $89
Do you have a bright colored winter coat? This is a great neutral to add.

Banana Republic, Jules Faux Fur Trim Scarf, $79
Here's a nice hybrid option if you don't want to go full out furry.

Limited, Keyhole Scarf, $29
This scarf reminds me of my grandmother in the best possible way. I think it is so beautiful.

Do you faux? I love my fun and colorful scarves, but sometimes an event demands something a little bit more.

Color Me Warm

Happy humpday lovebugs,
How's your week going? A little chilly? How about a scarf post? Today we're looking at colorblock scarves.

Yes, it's a little expensive for a scarf, but I promise, Nordstrom cashmere delivers. You will be so cozy and warm in this beautiful scarf.

So maybe it's not 25 degrees where you are, try this stunner either around your neck or even around your purse handle!

Gap, Cozy, Colorblock Scarf, $29
This bright yellow would be perfect under almost any color coat, even patterned.

I really love the pops of neon in this scarf, it's a great layering piece with or without a jacket.

You can never really have too many scarves, and embracing the colorblock trend is so easy with this accessory.

Tied Up in Silk

Happy Monday lovebugs. How was your weekend? I spent mine in Ocean City, NJ celebrating a friend's birthday. Now we're back to the grind, but you know what? Fall is in the air and that makes me happy.

Today I thought we would look at some silk scarves that can be worn in a variety of ways this fall: in your hair, around your purse handle or the usual, tied around your neck!

Nordstrom, Links and Dots Shorty, $42
I'm really loving the red on purple here, it's a great contrast of color near the face or with a light brown bag.

Ann Taylor, Charming Bow, $68
For this I'm picturing a strong red lipstick, something to really counter the sweetness of the pattern.

Anthropologie, Gilt Petals Scarf, $19
The colors in this scarf would be perfect with a jean jacket or over a ponytail.

Fossil, Cindy Floral Scarf, $44
I'm obsessed with this scarf. I love the graphic yet geometric pattern and the emerald border!

If you're hesitant about trying scarves, I'd recommend going to the nearest Target or Nordstrom Rack and try on a few in the mirror where you won't get swarmed with sales people. Find a pattern or color that you're comfortable with and mix it into your wardrobe!
