Raffia Like No One's Watching

Raffia is a great way to celebrate the warm weather. It's a great texture that can add some dimension to your outfit. Today we're looking at some great raffia jewelry pieces that are perfect for this summer.

If this doesn't say summer, I don't know what does. I love the pop of mint with these red and orange hues.

How about an option under $20? I love this with a simple tee.

How great would these look with a white sundress or just a pair of jeans? I love the green blue colors! So rich.

Anthropologie, Raffia Fruticans Necklace, $58
Leave it to Anthro to make raffia downright fruity. This necklace sits nice and high on the collarbone making it perfect for a crew neck or v neck top.

Raffia is a fun material to mix in with your summer wear. It's not just your standard tan and straw raffia anymore, find the color and styles that work best for you.

Craft Project

When I think of raffia, I think of a horrible craft project and a glue gun. Just no. What I will NOW think of are these beautiful raffia flats.

I'm having a hard time explaining why I love these shoes so much. They go with everything. I mean everything. They're rounded toe, which I love, and they have a sturdy sole which is necessary for the city.

Dorothy Perkins, Black and Cream Woven Pumps, $44
Raffia can sometimes be casual, the jewels on the toe really dress this flat up a bit.

Speaking of dressing up raffia, hello sophistication.

Sebago, Camella Peep Toe, $69
A little pedicure show off? Oh here you go. Enjoy!

Raffia is a beautiful, summer-inspired texture that is perfect for footwear.

Rough and Raffia

Hi lovebugs,
Today I wanted to look at a great accessory material for summertime; raffia. Whether a purse, shoe or jewelry, raffia is a fun and beachy way to accessorize a look.

Ben Amun, raffia bangle, $20
This bangle will give an earthy feel to your sundress.

Anthropologie, Contrasting weaves belt, $48
A great belt to add to a cotton skirt. I love the hammered gold link.

Madewell, market weaver bracelet, $5
I love these colorful bracelets. They're made by women from the West African country of Togo.

Coldwater Creek, Links necklace, $79
This is a dressed up version of raffia. A beautiful addition to a black maxi dress.

Raffia is a light and airy way to add some casual chic to your outfit. It's a nice break from a heavy metal.

Wicker Bags

Hey lovebugs!

Today I wanted to talk about a go to summer bag: wicker! It's light, airy, and perfect in a clutch form or a tote.  Here are some of my favorites.

Branching off from yesterday's tribal post- this is a great bag for a weekend evening out!

Lands End Canvas, Shoreline Straw Tote, $50
I'd use this for a day at the beach, or I would tie a silk scarf on the handle to dress it up!

What a fantastic unique shape! I love the tassel too.

Nordstrom, Tarnish straw tote, $65
Thank goodness for the Nordstrom sale! This metallic summer bag is amazing!

The straw, wicker, even raffia blend for bags just scream summer.  I think they can be dressed up with the right accessories or you can just let them be your perfect beach bag.
