Anything but Quiet

Happy Monday lovebugs,
Let's kick off this week with a bang. I want to wake up this week with prints. Quirky, interesting, and unexpected prints. We are going beyond stripes and dots, I want to pull from the 70s style and artistic prints. Let's grab some attention with pieces you already wear daily.

Dorothy Perkins, Camel Geo Print Blouse, $44
Something a bit more retro but is completely easy to pair with pants, skirts, and the items in your closet.

When I think quirky prints, I think Modcloth and this dress does not disappoint!

These pants are going to be in rotation all year round. Picture it with a chunky oversized knit for now or a trapeze blouse for summer.

So chic and breezy. I love this for work with a pencil skirt or wide leg slacks.

Prints are always eye catching but take them to the next level with 70s inspired, tribal, or more mod and you have a completely different look.

Leaf Duty

You know how the palm frond print has been popular this summer? Don't get me wrong, I love a fun print, but for those of us who aren't in a tropical environment, sometimes it comes off a bit weird. So today I am offering an alternative that is just as natural but a little less pina colada. The leaf print.

Lucky Brand, Tossed Lead Maxi Dress, $55
A cool jersey material is perfect to round out your summer shopping bag.

Faux wrap makes quite a statement in a meeting. I love the short sleeve style so you can wear it well into fall with a cardigan.

A stunning print with an illusion neckline. You don't see a lot of those any more.

How much fun is this dress? The tiered hem, the scrunched halter, I love it with statement earrings and a denim jacket for fall.

While some of you may be enjoying breezy palm trees, not all of us have that luxury. I like the leaf print for something natural and fun.

Turn the Kaleidoscope

Happy Monday lovebugs,
Let's talk prints. Not your standard stripe, polka dot, or even gingham. Let's think out of the box and look at the kaleidoscope print. It's eye catching, colorful and perfect for summer. I love the repetition of shapes in this print and you can have fun with neon or make it work for work.

Modcloth, Diamond-ay Morning Dress, $69 $41
Pops of color, cutouts, and a simple cinched waist makes this dress ready for sangria on a roof.

You really cannot beat the price here and the back of this tank is about as fun as the print.

Oh I love this piece. This is not what everyone else has in their closet and it's a stunner. A little 70s, a little bohemian, a lot summer nights.

Again, this price people. Just awesome. I love a tie neck blouse for work and this print is quite unusual. If you love Eva, she's also made a great kaleidoscope pant.

The kaleidoscope print is certainly a standout look. It's geometric without being too mod and you can find colors that fit what's already in your closet.

Chat Room

Sometimes we don't need to day a thing, because what we're wearing does that talking. Today I'm taking that in the literal sense, because these bags are all talk.

Gap, Happy Straw Tote, $24
Simple and sweet, I'd take this bag to the beach, brunch, or the store!

Have you heard about these Target wallets? They are the best for going out. They hold everything and they last forever. This print has a Kate Spade flavor to it.

I can't even with this bag. It's adorable.

Banana Republic, Conversational Large Pouch, $38
A great little price for a great little bag.

These conversational bags are a great, well, conversation starter. I love how quirky they are while still being date night appropriate.

That Sale in the Window

Ok lovebugs, today we're looking at a trend that's gotten a whole lot of attention lately. I say lately because we've looked at this pattern back in June. The windowpane print. It's similar to a plaid but monochrome in color. The pattern can vary in size which is great to match proportion to your body type.

100% cotton and 100% fantastic. I love the balance of the black and light blue.

Starting simple? Try these sheer tights with a pencil skirt (of any color).

Old Navy, Pixie Pant in Windowpane, $17 (!!)
No, really, these pants at this price. Just go. Go now.

Lord and Taylor, Panacea Windowpane Cuff, $18
You thought this was just for clothing? Check out this great modern yet preppy windowpane cuff.

So there you have it. A lighter-feeling plaid print in the windowpane trend.

On the Trellis

One print that I am loving right now is the trellis print. It works for anyone. Pick the size of the print, color and style it just for you. The trellis print is something different to mix in with your stripes and dots.

These lightweight earrings are great with a suit or for a fall wedding.

I love a fall scarf and this wool silk blend is no exception.

A great carryall bag that you can swing over your shoulder.

A smaller trellis print is perfect for these loose pants.

The trellis print is unexpected and doesn't scream preppy. I like it for accessories and clothing.

Pucker Up

It's Valentine's Eve and whether you have a hot date or not, everyone loves a good kiss. So pucker up lovebugs.

This ladylike compact is mature and girly. You'll find excuses to pull it out of your bag.

Pac Sun, Shine Lips Muscle Tee, $39
A little edgy but think about pairing this with a magenta cardigan and a leopard skinny belt. Yeah.

Macy's, Guess Printed Tee, $39
How adorable is this tee? I love the blush color and the scoop neck.

The Limited, Kiss Layering Blouse, $49
A sheer tiny print blouse that you can tuck into a pencil skirt, wear with a suit, or layer under a v-neck sweater.

This Valentine's Day put on some gloss or some chapstick and enjoy a good mwah.

Tooth and Nail

Houndstooth is one of those prints that will always be in style. It's a classic look that you can tailor to fit your style. Add a collar for some prep, add some chains for rocker, or add a blazer for corporate.

Such a fun graphic sweater that you can pair with cords or jeans.

Oh hi, $46. Yes add a beautiful cardigan and you're good to go.

JC Penny, Worthington Ponte Skirt, $25
A fantastic big graphic print, this is so much fun for the office.

Lord and Taylor, Houndstooth Tights, $10
Oh and of course I needed to throw in some tights!

Houndstooth is a great option for work or play and you can find it at any price point.
