Now You See Me

Let's play with a great print that has been around for forever: camo. It's rough around the edges but I promise, even the girliest girls can make it work for their style.

Forever 21, Camp Print Joggers, $24
Simple and sleek. I'm pairing it with gold slip on sneakers and a white tee with a statement necklace.

NY&Co, The Crosby Pant, $35
You gotta love the price for these well structured pants. Dress them up with heels!

Target, Camo Utility Pants, $29
Dress these up with a blazer or dress them down with flip flops ala Mean Girls.

Garage, Camo Printed Legging, $24
Something super casual and easy for the weekend.

Side note, all of these pants are under 40 bucks. You're welcome.

Vivacious in Velvet

It's holiday time. Don't try to hide from it. It's here. And while most Friday and Saturday nights will require a sassy cocktail dress and tights, what about the work week soirees and happy hours? I give you the velvet pant. It's looks luxe and festive but it doesn't break the bank.

So gorgeous. So expensive looking. Gap, you win.

A beautiful slate gray means these pants are going to work with everything in your closet.

I love this tiny zipper hem detail on these crimson pants.

Zara, Velvet Trousers, $69
I had to throw in a bootcut version. Love these pants for the look of extra long legs.

Velvet is perfect for the holiday season and why not try a pair of pants that you can mix with a silk blouse, cashmere card, anything else in your closet.

Velvet Underground

Ok lovebugs, it's been a long week and it's time for some comfy class. I'm talking about velvet. I love velvet in December because it's dressy or casual. This fabric is perfect for winter and especially the holiday season. Let's look at some great velvet pant options.

I love Loft pants. You can throw them in the wash, you can wear them to work, you can wear them for play. They work for everything and they hold up for years.

JCPenny, Joe Fresh Velvet Pant, $39 $28
A great jogger option, this pant features a drawstring and a fitted ankle.

Ann Taylor, Curvy Velvet Slim Pants, $98 $59
The price is high, but these will be your go to pant in the winter. This chianti hue goes with green, navy, tan, you name it.

How about a navy option? I love the ankle crop because you can show off some sassy heels.

Try out some velvet this winter. It isn't as loud as plaid but it's perfect for the season.

Crop Dusting

Last week we looked at some simple and solid gray dresses. Today I think we should go a similar route and take a look at some standard yet essential black crops. You can wear them for work or play and they are all machine washable.

Almost 800 people have reviewed these pants on gap.com. I think they're doing something right.

True story, I bought these pants last week. They fit like a dream. Flats, heels, sandals, get ready closet. These pants have plans for you.

Banana Republic, Hampton Fit Sateen Pant, $79
These pants have a bit of a sheen to them which makes them very Audrey Hepburn.

Let me tell you something about Vince's pants. You are going to wear the crap out of them. They will be your go to pant for work and for Saturday night.

Not every post can be polka dots and sequins, today we focus on a staple. Try a few fits and styles, you will never regret buying a great pair of black crops.

Chi-don't you know?

One of my favorite styles of pant is the chino. It's clean and simple, easy to care for and you can wear it with anything. Let's look at some good standards to add to your wardrobe.

Lands End Canvas, True Slim Chino, $59
You really can't beat the price with such a vibrant color.

Loft, Girlfriend Chino, $59
A gf chino? It's got the relaxed leg but more fitted through the hip.

J Crew, Waverly Chino, $79
A good standard from J Crew, they do the chino very well.

These come in a rainbow of colors but I'm loving the oxblood.

Machine washable, plenty of colors, and plenty of styles. The chino is a great investment piece that won't break the bank.

The Future is So Bright

Happy humpday lovebugs! We're getting there! Today we're going to look at some cords, but not a particular style, rather a color. We're looking at brights! Who says cords need to be in black or chocolate? Let's have some fun!

Nordstrom, KUT Diana skinny cords, $69
Woo! Sunglasses please! I love these bright orange cords, and the price!

Free People, Skinny Corduroys, $44
Thinking pink? Can't go wrong with there skinnies.

I've posted them before and I'll probably do it again. Under $25 these would be perfect with black or brown boots.

Lands End, Fit 1 Slim Ankle Cord, $49
A great saturated green is perfect for fall.

Where are you finding the best cords this season? I love my chocolate brown cords, but sometimes you have to throw in the unexpected!

Those Damn Pants

Happy almost Friday,
It's been a busy week, but luckily, we're almost done. Today's post comes from one of my most fashionable friends, LPU. She is my go to for all things put together and fabulous. She, like so many of us, does not have a bajillion dollars to spend on her wardrobe, so I'm always picking her brain to see what she is wanting to buy and find it for cheaper. Today, she wants "those damn pants you can wear under boots"so I'm bringing them to you for under $50.

Target, Corduroy Pant, $22
Some people feel that bright colored pants shouldn't be worn in the winter. I am not one of those people. These are perfect with flat boots and a cardigan.

I like these because the dots are a darker blue not stark white.

Old Navy, Super skinny jeans, $19
Black skinny jeans for $19. You are so freaking welcome.

Forever 21, Safari Print Denim Skinnies, $20
Feeling bold? Like really bold? How about these sassy pants.

So there you go, some super affordable, skinny pants for boots or just on their own.

Fancy Pants

Happy Tuesday lovebugs! I hope you had a wonderful long weekend! I spent mine at a wedding in Pennsylvania wearing this number from J Crew.

Today we're looking at a great and bold trend for fall, printed pants! Denim, silk, you name it, print up those legs!

These will adorable with some slim penny loafers and a button down shirt.

A fantastic geometric print that its perfect to mix with a sweater of tiered tee.

Ann Taylor, Static Print Cropped Pants, $78
What I like about these pants is they're not skin tight. You can pair these with a silk tie blouse for work.

Printed cords! Are you kidding me? How sassy are these?

Printed bottoms are certainly a statement piece. Especially living in DC when color blocking still makes some people do a double take. Try these with a solid top, and mix in some flats.
