Now You See Me

Let's play with a great print that has been around for forever: camo. It's rough around the edges but I promise, even the girliest girls can make it work for their style.

Forever 21, Camp Print Joggers, $24
Simple and sleek. I'm pairing it with gold slip on sneakers and a white tee with a statement necklace.

NY&Co, The Crosby Pant, $35
You gotta love the price for these well structured pants. Dress them up with heels!

Target, Camo Utility Pants, $29
Dress these up with a blazer or dress them down with flip flops ala Mean Girls.

Garage, Camo Printed Legging, $24
Something super casual and easy for the weekend.

Side note, all of these pants are under 40 bucks. You're welcome.

Darling Discotech

It's just about December which means the holiday party invites are starting to pour in. You want to wear something festive without looking like a Christmas tree. Enter the metallic foil. Stay with me. It's not a sequin but it does have a sparkle.

First of all, you can't beat the price. Second of all, this is such a simple yet eye catching dress!

Make a freakin' statement. I love this jumpsuit.

Not into the metallics? Try this pink on for size!

Part disco, part ladylike, all holiday ready.

Get party ready with a metallic foil for your holiday festivities! Pair it with a texture like suede or velvet to make it super luxe.

Something Blue

Spring is for florals but when you get past the pastels, the magentas, and the orchid colors, you will find yourself in a more jeweled world. The sapphire. This color neither navy nor sky blue, its somewhere in between.

For reference we go to the pros: pantone.

These petal inspired earrings are a step up from your average stud earring.

NY & Co, Soft Floral Pant, $59
A gathered elastic waistband makes these easy breezy pants perfect for a warm summer night.

This light and airy accessory can be added to a simple tee, under a denim jacket, or with a white button down.

Talk about your classic sundress. This simple sapphire lace floral can stand alone or pile on a statement necklace

Florals are expected this time of year, mix it up with an unexpected color: sapphire.

Basic principles... there are none

Fun fact: My favorite movie is Hitch. Yes, that fantastic (Oscar-snubbed) film with Will Smith, Kevin James and the gorgeous Eva Mendes. Why am I telling you this? Because you should go watch it. No, kidding (kind of), I want to talk about Eva's new line from NY & Company. It's gorgeous, feminine and perfect for work to play. Here are some of my favorites from the collection.

This beautiful high waisted dress is easy to wear to work with a blazer of add on the bling for a cocktail party.

A soft print that is ladylike and fitted. Oh and most importantly, machine washable.

Wear this with a dress or a suit, it's a statement piece but it doesn't need the main stage to get noticed.

What I like about this top is that you can tuck it, belt it, or let it flow. It fits any style.

Eva did a great job making a woman feel beautiful without skin tight or uncomfortable fabrics.

I Heart Hearts

Hey there lovebugs,
How was your weekend? I saw some great friends and spent some quality time with my main man, Norman.

As February gets underway, I'm hearting hearts. Please be advised I despise the word heart as a verb. However, for the sake of fantastic blogging, let's look at some hearts!

Forever 21, Sequined Hearts Pullover, $23
I love this casual top. It's perfect for a lazy day or a casual outfit.

How about the perfect V-Day dress for under $40?

How amazing is this graffiti print? It reminds me of my notebook in middle school.

The fact the this dress has the word 'flippy' in it makes me just want to put it on and twirl around in it.

So do you heart these hearts? I think these little numbers are perfect for V-Day or any day for that matter!

Full Frontal

Vests are a trend that I have a hard time getting into. I'm not sure why, but I just usually prefer a cardi. But the open front vest trend is something that I'm getting into recently. I've seen a lot of my fellow bloggers sporting them, so let's take a look at some options.

Dillard's, Kensie open knit vest, $58
A great open knit is perfect for summer. I'd layer a neon bauble with this.

Urban Outfitters, Sparkle & Fade Sheer Chiffon Vest, $49
A little rocker. I might add a skinny belt to this for some definition.

NY & Co, Open front tie vest, $29
Speaking of adding some silhouette definition, this vest does it for you with a great tie. I love the crisp look of this vest.

A great olive color with a shawl collar. I love this vest. It also comes in cream.

I think the open front vest offers a little more versatility than a buttoned up one. You can leave it open, belt it or accessorize it another way.

Violet & White

Happy Thursday lovebugs!

Today I wanted to do a crisp color combination that I think will be hot for summer.  Violet and white.  This combination is super clean and chic, and can be dressed up or down.

I love this dress more in its other convertible style, as a halter, such a rich color.  I'd pair it with the necklace below:

NY & Company, bold cabochon bib necklace, $25
I like this bib necklace because it will draw attention upwards, which is nice when wearing a maxi dress.

Boden Upbeat Wool mini, $42
Oh Boden, you always know how to make me swoon.  I'd pair it with this blouse:

Loft, Ruffle neck blouse, $44
Crisp, white, and feminine.

I really love these shorts because they're not skin tight and they don't pull across the waistline. I'd pair it with this top:

Modcloth, Art Room Flirtation Top, $48
Great sleeves and I love the gathering under the bust.

So what do you think? Are you liking this color combo as much as I am?  I'm personally not quite ready for white bottoms, but in just a few short weeks I think we'll be seeing a lot of them!
