Going in Circles

There is something quite simple and dramatic about a hoop earring. The hoop earring is as classic as the pearl. It goes with everything and you can dress it up, down, and everything in between. There are a zillion hoop earring options out there, today I thought we would look at some classic but unique gold and silver earrings.

See? Unexpected but not distracting.

I absolutely love beaded metal. I think it is super feminine and a bit warmer than a standard flat metal.

How night out at the museum are these earrings? So very chic!

These earrings are magical. They are light and mysterious and best of all, handmade in Seattle.

Hoop earrings are not just from Mean Girls era, they are the accessory that will be with us a century from now because they don't age and they don't go out of style.

A Bouquet for Me?

Yesterday we looked at some spring skirts. Today, let's continue the trend and hope for warmer weather. Let's look at some watercolor inspired florals that are perfect for right now. They're graphic and colorful and they are just what we need on this hump day.

Lord and Taylor, Dual Print Cardigan, $55
I'd pair this sweet print with leather pants, because I'm wild like that. And check out the back of this cardigan, didn't see that coming did you?

New York & Company, Floral Soft Pant, $59
I love this mix of black and blue here and the pops of white just freshen it up.

How about a big graphic print? I love the bright colors and midi length of this pencil.

Guys if you need me, I'll be over at Landsend.com because this floral is just perfect.

Florals aren't just for the middle of spring and summer, try them now with your closed toe shoes and a cardigan. Bright colors will make spring come faster, promise.

Snake Charmer

Given that it is Halloween tomorrow, I thought we could do a spooky type of jewelry today. Snakes. Not snakeskin, I'm talking slithering, slimy snakes!

Swell, Snake Ring, $12
This great adjustable ring is not scary at all, in fact its kind of chic! Love the brass.

Max & Chloe, Blu Bijoux Snake Post Earrings, $14
How cute are these? These would be adorable with jeans.

I love this necklace because use got great length at 32 inches. Perfect for a camp shirt.

A nice set of three bangles that can be dressed up or down.

So there you have it, a non-tacky way to do jewelry fit for Halloween. And something you can wear after October.

Paisley Please?

Let's take a traditionally summer pattern, paisley, and make it work for the cooler months. By picking the right colors you can make this pattern perfect for fall, winter, work, or play.

These colors are great for any skin tone. I might switch out the belt for something leather.

This oversized print is great for taller ladies, and the pleating at the waist will flatter just about anyone.

Modcloth, Swirled of Possibilities, $44
A simple shift is perfect for a fall weekend. I would pair this with a nice long charm necklace.

This dress is 50% off. It also comes in a golden yellow. It's got great clean lines that are good for work or play.

Don't let summer paisley keep you out in the cold! Try to mix it in with some other colors with a richer, darker hue.

Not Straight Edge

Lovebugs! Happy Monday. I hope you're enjoying a day off from school, work, or life in general.

Today, as it is the first day of the week, some of us are planning our outfits for the week. My go to is a pencil skirt because it's standard, chic and works with everything. But today we're looking at some not so run of the mill pencil skirts. Pattern, color, sass.

J Crew, No. 2 pencil skirt, $89
Hello glamour. This skirt fits so well, and the coloring of the leopard is very simple and elegant.

White House Black Market, Colorblock pencil skirt, $88
Doesn't this skirt look like a piece of art? I love the front vertical panel, very elongating.

One, the price. Two, the color. Three the structure.

Oh come on, you know I had to put in a dotted skirt.

What's your go to work staple? If it's the pencil skirt, would you abandon the black for something a little sassier?
