Wrapped for Midnight

Ok, one holiday down, another to go this weekend. What are your plans for NYE? If you are in need of a fantastic dress, I've got you covered! I love a wrap dress for a night out, because so often a wrap dress is 9-5 wear. Add some sass and sultry to the look with these wrap dresses.

Forever 21, Velvet Wrap Dress, $45
Loving the asymmetrical hem and this velvet, so touchable!

Everyone needs a little glitter on NYE. Everyone.

Banana Republic, Long Sleeve Wrap Dress, $82
This dress offers a great base for dressing up or down.

Can we just for a minute with this dress? So many beautiful things happening here. Also comes in an LBD.

Wrap dresses don't have to be for the board room. I love them for going out because they create a beautiful and slimming silhouette.

Thanks Champagne!

It's New Year's Eve. Let's have some fun with champagne. These tops are great for tonight, or in my opinion, any night!!

Revolve Clothing, Pray for Champagne, $79
I couldn't agree more.

Pairing it with a leather jacket because I'm cool like that.

That's so weird, me too.

This defines adulthood, I think.

Drink responsibly tonight. Seriously. Don't be dumb. You have so many great outfits to wear.

Don't Drop the Ball

Let's talk New Years guys. Seriously. Let's get real because it's really, really soon. So I'm going to show you four dress options that are available in stores now. No one has time for rush shipping and so let's talk NYE at your fingertips.

Why just wear sequins when you can wear sequins in a fabulous pattern? Right.

A really beautiful and unexpected color for NYE. This dress has great movement for the dance floor.

You're thinking casual, cool for NYE. I totally get that and I think it's a great idea. Try this no fuss jumpsuit.

Bombshell, party of one?

What are your plans this NYE? Dancing the night away? Hot date? I have one with The Bf, the puppy, and some killer chinese food.

New Years Resolution Giveaway

Happy New Year everyone!

I have partnered up with Coupons.com, and some of my favorite bloggers, to help you kick start your new years resolution with a $500 gift card to Amazon!

My new years resolution is quite the cliche, I want to lose weight. Recently I donated my hair to Pantene Beautiful Lengths, and I think this new style needs a healthier bod. My sister got me a FitBit for Christmas, so I am keeping track of my steps, hydrating, and tracking!

What is your new years resolution and how would you use this giftcard?

Don't Be That Girl

New Year's Eve is a night where comfortable shoes are a must. Whether you are dancing the night away or being a social butterfly at a friend's party, or even out to dinner with your beau. Do not be that girl in a beautiful dress carrying her shoes. Do not be that girl. I find the best shoes for a special night out are metallic. Bring the bling and they match pretty much anything.

Nordstrom, Ivanka Trump Indico Pump, $99
A nice mid-heel is perfect for a night on the dance floor. These remind me of a modern day Cinderella.

Urban Outfitters, Report Murphy Scaled Heel, $99
The stacked heel will save your heels even after the clock strikes 12.

1. Uh-dorable
2. You can basically be Fergie
3. The price

Aldo, Kveta, $38
This t-strap is a great design to save your feet, the silver pointy toe is just extra.

Don't get me wrong sometimes I do believe in the phrase beauty is pain, but not when you're getting kissed at midnight. Give your feet a break, let your dress do the work tonight.

New Year, New Day

Happy 2013 lovebugs!

Last week I talked a little bit about resolutions. Well today is the day that we put them into action. What are you hoping to improve on this year?

As I mentioned, I will be writing down one thing I'm thankful for each day. And to kick things off, today I am thankful for my sister who bought me the journal I'll be using to chronicle my thankfulness all year long.

Be fabulous today.

New Year's Eve

Happy last day of 2012 lovebugs. This year has been a solid one for me. Some friends have moved away but sometimes big things happen to good people and you have to be happy for them. As for the ones who have stuck around DC? I've been lucky enough to keep them close and I've even made some new ones through blogging. The Bf and Norman and I were lucky enough to be able to stay in our apartment for another year. All in all I can't complain.

Tonight I hope you spend your night in sparkles or in sweatpants and ring in the new year full of hope and joy.

Thanks for being fabulous this year.

Resolutions

Since I would never take away Friday Foodday, I wanted to use today to talk a little bit about resolutions.

res·o·lu·tion
[rez-uh-loo-shuh n]
1. A resolve or determination.

Resolutions are a decision to make a change. An act, a thought, or an admission that you will do something differently moving forward. New Years is often referred to as a time to get a fresh start, but I truly believe that you can't understand what you want to change until you've reflected on where you've been and what you've done.

Given the recent tragedy in Connecticut, as well as the constant stresses we are bombarded with on a day to day basis, what better time to really take a moment, or an hour, or whatever you feel comfortable with to just sit. Sit with your thoughts, your emotions and attempt to channel how you can improve. How can you make yourself a little bit better this year?

I would love to hear what your resolutions are for the new year. Share them or get inspiration by reading someone else's below.

What is mine you ask? Well, I'm going to be writing down one thing I'm thankful for each day in a journal. Now they don't have to be earth shattering, sometimes it's ok to be thankful for Spanx, or How I Met Your Mother, but I want to write it down, I want to take that moment each day and reflect and record it.

Thanks for taking a moment to share your resolutions.

Be fabulous today!

NYE Accents

Hey lovebugs! Are you ready for 2012? Today I thought we would look at some fabulous accents to add to your LBD for New Year's Eve.

If you aren't usually brave with your headbands during the year; NYE is the best excuse to go big or go home.

I absolutely love this belt, it's flashy and fabulous in all the right ways.

I love color around the face and these beauties are perfect for a big night.

Stella and Dot, Soiree Trio Ring, $49
Hello glamorous.

What are your NYE plans? Dressing up or down? Even if you're in pjs, wear some bling for fun!

New Year's Accessory

Hey lovebugs!  It's almost time for New Years, which means sparkly dresses, resolutions, and champagne. Now a lot of blogs have done fabulous posts on NYE dresses, if you're still looking you HAVE to check out:  BonBon Rose Girls and Wit & Whimsy.  They have excellent options and ideas.

I thought I would try something a little different and instead of offering dress choices, why not accessory choices?  Sound good? Fabulous, let's go!

Kate Spade, Foiled Again, $75
This is the perfect clutch for NYE.  You can stuff lipstick, keys, phone, and even roll up flats in here!

I love the elegant simplicity of this necklace.  This would be perfect with an LBD or jeans in 2011.

Cole Haan, bow belt, $39.95
I'm loving this find over at the Cole Haan sale.  Look at the detail on the bow!  This would spice up any solid color NYE dress or put it over a cardigan.

Target, Merona Euna pumps, $24.99
Just because it's Target doesn't mean you can't score a pair of fabulous heels.  I'm a sucker for rounded toe, and this print certainly adds some spice!

New Years should be sparkle and sass.  It's the one night a year where no one cares if the dress is a little too young for you, or if that outfit is too dressy for the party.  If you're workin' it, you are the party.

Be fabulous today.
