Tool for a Mule

Mules have been trending all year long, we've looked at stacked heel versions, tassels, you name it. Today let's bring it down to ground level. The ultra comfortable and so chic flat closed toe mules. It's easy and versatile as a slip on shoe for summer and fall.

40% off right now and I'm just in love with this twist on a classic penny loafer.

Something a little more resort wear is just what you need for summer.

Sneaker version! Size up half a size because of the lip in the back.

This is what we call a statement shoe. And it's 50% off right now.

There is something so 'cool girl' about a mule. Not trying too hard but still making a statement.

We all know that open toed mules are all the rage this season, but man are they expensive! I've rounded up some great options under $100 so you can give this trend a whirl without breaking the budget.

Nordstrom, Joe's Kat Mule, $99
Hello lover. Check out this block heel! Also comes in peach or metallic options.

H&M, Suede Mules, $69
Mint anyone? Picture these with a white dress, denim shorts, you name it!

Oh Old Navy, I love you. Thank you for staying on trend and on budget.

A stunning perforated option from, that's right, Tom's.

So paint those piggies and slip into one of these great summer shoes!

Mule Over I've Gotta a Bow to Pick

Last month we looked at mules for the first time this season. Today I thought we would step it up a notch and add my favorite detail: a bow.

40 bucks. I repeat 40 bucks.

French Connection, Kasen Suede Mules, $140 $84
A super high heel that make an entrance.

Famous Footwear, Fergie Noelle Black Mule, $69 with code FRESHSALE
Love this chunky heel. I'd make sure my pedicure popped underneath.

Are these heels ready for spring, or what? They also come in a light periwinkle.

Mules can sometimes look clunky, that's why I like to add a feminine touch with a bow to really dress them up.

Stubborn as a Mule

Mules are big for this year so I thought we would try some stacked heel mules that are comfortable to walk in and stylish as all get out.

Lord & Taylor, Leather Block Heel Mules, $99
Ok, top of the budget, but think of the cost per wear with these neutral beauties!

Show off your pedicure with these popping heels!

A super blush mule that is so feminine without being sweet.

I'm a sucker for metallic because these heels are party ready.

Rethink your aversion to mules because the new peep toe styles are sassy, fun, and comfortable!

Mule Over Buddy

While espadrilles and flip flops are the shoes for summer, sometimes you have to dress it up a bit. You don't have to go digging for your stilettos though. Try mule sandals. They are cool, versatile, and pretty simple. I like them to dress up with a skirt or down with a romper. Very easy and very affordable.

See what I mean? You can pair this a culotte for work or shorts for the weekend!

Hello lipstick red perfection.

Do you love these? Because I love these. I love these even into early fall with bf jeans.

And why not some suede? For under $60!

A great stacked heel, chunky look, but with the right outfit and the right strut, the perfect summer shoe.

Peek A Boo

Let's talk toes. It's chilly in DC but it's almost pedicure time which means it's peep toe time. This spring, mules are going to be all of the rage and peep toe mules are the perfect shoe to add to your closet right now. These trendy shoes don't need to break the bank. Here are my favorites under $100.

Charlotte Russe, Qupid Chunky Peep Toe Mules, $25
Simple, chic, funky with this stacked heel. Oh and the price? Yeah.

Asos, Halo Heeled Mules, $60
Can a shoe have a sweetheart neckline? Because these beauties do and I love them.

Forever 21, Buckled Peep Toe Mules, $19
A little buckle detail for under $20? Don't mind if I do.

How comfy do these look? They also come in black, perfect with bf jeans or an lbd.

Paint those piggies and get them ready for peep toe mule season!

Mule Tide

Happy Tuesday lovebugs,
I had a lovely long weekend, and I won't rub it in too much because it seems most people did not have yesterday off. So sorry for your loss.

Anyway, let's jump right in with a fall shoe trend that is casual chic. The peep toe mule. On a brisk weekend day, these heels are the perfect addition to your outfit.

Originally $100, these are such a steal.

Asos, Hendon Mule, $69
What a great chunky heel and the buckle detail is very mod.

Steve Madden, Nonstp, $99
I love these. They come in tan, gray, black, or this rich cognac.

JCPenny, A.N.A Isha Shoes, $29
These shoes. You know how you're reading about the 70's fashion comeback? These. Shoes.

The mule trend is so far beyond your mother's chunky mules. This trend is very chic and it works with skirts, denim, you name it. Just please, I know it's fall, but let's make sure those toes are painted.

Mule-ing it Over

Mules are weird. Both the animal and the trend. I'm not sure why it's a thing but it's one of the more comfortable trends we're seeing right now so I'm on board. Mule sandals are particularly great because they're usually very walkable with some nice support versus a strappy option.

Anthropologie, Lien.Do Sol Mules, $99
Woven rafia, does it get more summer than this? They're just so pretty.

The detail of the perforation is so quiet that it add just the right amount of style to these otherwise organic and simple heels.

Gotta love J Simp for adding  pop of pink to this nude sandal. This is white jean ready.

Bare Necessities, Seychelles Leather Mule Sandals, $78
I'd save these shoes for a cool summer night with a breezy maxi dress. The leather is going to give you some sweaty feet but with this much style, who cares?

The mule trend is sticking around for a while and in this variation of a summer sandal, that is just fine by me.
