Cut Me A Piece

How about this Monday? Last week of June already! I have not been wearing my summer sundresses and rompers as much as I want to, and it is prime time for them. A combo trend that I'm loving right now is the cutout jumpsuit. It's perfect for those hot and humid Saturdays and you can dress thump or down.

South Moon Under, Moon & Sky Cutout Jumpsuit, $98
Talk about easy breezy. I love the v-neck with the diagonal steps.

Dress this up with some killer sandals for date night. Comfort and style.

Summery and sweet yellow in an effortless one piece. Pair this with espadrilles for a girly brunch.

How fun is this jumpsuit? Denim without looking western.

Who needs to build a whole outfit on the weekend when you can pull on a one piece and go!

When Life Gives You Lemons

Happy Monday, lovebugs. I hope you had a lovely weekend. Here we are mid-April and the weather is pointing towards warm with a side of happy. And even though it's Monday, I thought we would make lemonade out of it. That's right, how about a lemon print on this sweet Monday?

A great allover print with some special details like a scoop neckline, keyhole peek, and cap sleeves.

This would look amazing with a denim jacket or a white eyelet dress.

For under $20, you're going to get a ton of wear out of this top. Work or play, it's a great option.

Nordstrom, JCrew Lemon Tree Earrings, $58
So fun and colorful. Ok, even tropical.

Sure, it's Monday, and maybe you've got some lemons. So make lemonade, or buy something with lemons on it. Either way, smile.

Nerd Out

Sometimes I ask my husband for blog ideas. Today it was 'go all nerd'. What? Yes. 'Just go all in with the geek...but know that's very different than a nerd...or a dork.' Ok, so let me try this.

How about it? Perfectly Jessica Day.

Classy Clutches

It's been a busy weekend here and I wouldn't have it any other way. But now its back to business, well, maybe we should ease into it. Let's have some fun with bags that aren't exactly ready for the office.

Hello adorable. And on sale.

This looks high fashion without the price tag. So chic!

Modcloth, Keen of Hearts, $24
It pops open in the middle. How fun!

Charming Charlie, Rhapsody Crossbody Wristlet, $12

Guest Post: Get Back on the Horse

Hi everyone! I’m Heather, Kelsey’s BFF from middle school (yeah, we’re getting old), filling in while Kelsey sleeps for a few days in wedded bliss.

While Kelsey is bringing the fabulous to DC, I live in Memphis. And while DC is nice and snowy this time of year, it’s been in the 60s half of January here. And then it drops 30 degrees. In these uncertain times, my go-to outfit is riding boots and a long-sleeved dress. Here are some of my current faves.

My go-to boot style - they literally go with EVERYTHING.

H&M, Wrap-front Dress, $24.99
I love a great print - why wear solids when you can have so much more fun?

Obsessed. The fit is spectacular and that print is to die for.

Old Navy, Crepe Swing Dress, $19.99
I could (and do) wear florals year-round - it’s never too cold for flowers!

Modcloth, Do You Coffee? Shirt Dress, $69.99
Again with the florals - and this one has the added bonus of being green and white for this KD.

This look is great for a business-casual office like mine, and then for going straight to happy hour. And keeps you warm but not overly toasty on those crazy weather days!

It is prime boot season and what better way to dress up down your wardrobe than with a great knee boot. They're sometimes tough to find under $100 but I've got you covered today with some beautiful suede knee boots that won't break your budget.

I mean, hello. A stacked heel, rounded but pointed toe, just perfect.

A great low heel for a long day. It goes from work to drinks seamlessly.

Sole Society, Leandra, $149 $74
A beautiful rust shade that will go with just about anything in your closet.

Talk about a deal! These chocolate beauties must be mine!

Don't spend a zillion bucks on a boot and then feel buyers remorse. There are a ton options under $100 and they are just as stunning!

Say It Proud

It's the first week of the year and so many people have been reflecting on 2016 in a negative way. Sure it had it's ups and downs, but let's focus on the positive ahead of us! More importantly, let's tell everyone about it.

Modcloth, It Takes All Womankind, $49
Let's get together, ladies. Smile because we can do this.

A simply sweet sweater that is fun to layer.

I think we can all agree with this one.

Century 21, Hi Ya Knit Sweater, $32
Let's have fun with it, am I right?

2017 is only going to suck if you let it suck. So suck it up and make it great.

Creature Comforts

Ok, we're back. No more quiet workdays because half of the world is on vacation. It's for real and it's 2017. Are you ready? Not quite? That's ok, I've got you covered with some cozy long cardigans that look great and make you feel like you're still under the covers.

Anthropologie, Snow Day Cardigan, $79
Hello comfort. A beautiful drape and the perfect sleeve length.

Nordstrom, Leith Easy Knit Cardigan, $47
This knit is 40% right now and I am loving the marled texture.

Speaking of texture. Can we just have a moment with this layer of love?

This color will go with anything. You can also belt it to dress it up a bit.

I hope you don't have to wear a pencil skirt and pantyhose today. If you do, look at these comfy cardis and think of puppies.

T Birds

Let's play with a comfortable flat that is anything but plain. The t strap flat. It's got some personality. More playful than a ballet flat and more girly than a slip on sneaker. It's got a great in-between quality that is easy to dress up or down.

Old Navy, T Strap D'Orsay Flat, $15
Navy or nothing under $20.

This show has got a tuxedo quality to it. I love it. Comes in three other colors.

I have a yellow-loving gf who is going to die over these shoes.

Nordstrom Rack, Corso Como Mince T Strap Flat, $74
How about a neutral with a little buckle action?

Who needs heels when you can have this much fun with flats?
