Fall In Line with Trends

It's March 1, which means spring is around the corner. One spring trend I really love this year is the military jacket. It's versatile and easy to layer with just about any style. Throw it on with any casual look for an extra bit of flair.

Banana Republic, Full Sleeve Jacket, $82
Bet you didn't see this feminine take on the military jacket coming. Love this.

Love the idea of pairing this jacket with a dress. Such a great contrast.

Great snap and zipper details, but can we talk about the lace up sides?

How about some embroidered detail? Beautiful.

Military jackets are a great trend for spring. Much different then a floral or eyelet for the warmer weather.

Sir, Yes Sir

I love a simple shirtdress. It's casual and chic in an effortless sort of way. My only gripe with shirt dresses is that sometimes they can be a bit short so make sure you do the sit-down test when trying them on. If you're doubting, don't wear it to work. Just don't. Today I thought we would look at a specific type of shirtdress: the military style. This trend is a bit more masculine and the olive green hue looks good on anyone.

I love a flap button pocket, it's a little safari but not in a Wild Thornberry kind of way.

You know what summer needs more of? Linen. The coolest fabric ever.

A deeper green makes this dress completely feminine and work appropriate.

A slouchy option that is perfect for the weekend. I love the side slits as an extra detail.

The military trend is a great one to follow during all four seasons, but I especially love the shirtdress option. It's casual and easy for work or play.

Get in Line

Lovebugs,
Yesterday we talked button downs and I thought we'd continue that trend with military inspired dresses that are so often detailed with buttons, grommets, and other bling.

J Jill, Military Sweater Dress, $35 (!!)
I love this outfit with a pair of flat boots.  And the price? Hello.

I never really got into the chambray trend but this dress with these suede wedges- perfect.

J Crew, Jane Dress, $69
The v-neck, the pockets, the sleeves, the price! Buy it.

Lutz & Patmos, Short Dress, $79
Now this is how you dress up the military trend.  Black silk and a deep drape neckline.

Military jackets will surely be seen this fall, but why not try military dresses? Great with flat knee high boots of suede lace-up wedges.

Through your wardrobe of course! Thanks to every single veteran out there.  You are an incredible asset to his country and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Today TCB salutes you through military inspired clothing.
Tomorrow is Friday Foodday!

Express, Military Shirt Dress, $59
Great dress, just please make sure you sit down in it in the dressing room before you buy it! Don't look at the size, look at how it fits you.

White House Black Market, Slim Ponte Military Pants, $88
So hot. Sleek and determined.

American Eagle, Cropped Military Cardigan, $30
Perfect for running around on the weekend with jeans and boots.

Piperlime, Mia Duke, $80
I love the military themed button, rounded tow, AND fold over cuff.

And for Everyday Mom Ideas blogger's Christmas list- she asked for a rosette blouse.  What do you think of this one?

Forever 21 also has tons of options with rosettes!  Thanks for writing in!
