Metal Detector

Shoe trends come and go but one that I think has and will stick around for a while is the cap toe. It's such a simple detail that you can dress up or down. Today we're looking at metal cap toe flats.

Sole Society, Dylann, $59
A sweet braided t-strap in a fall suede is great with a cord mini.

This is like the tuxedo of flats. Chic and classic.

Last Call Neiman Marcus, Seychelles Juniper Cap Toe Pointy Flat, $79 $39!!
Get. In. My Closet. Goodness gracious these shoes.

You've got to love a taupe suede. So mature and effortless.

A perfectly walkable flat with a bit of flare. Bring on the metallic cap toe.

Hard Stacked Metal

A beautiful stacked heel is perfect for a playful summer shoe. It's less dramatic than your standard stiletto and much easier to walk in. Today we're looking at some stacked heel metallic sandals that will go with anything in your closet.

Coach, Lexey Heel, $99
Yes that Coach. Run, don't walk. Go get these designer sandals.

Zara, Block Heel Sandal, $39
A sassy and short gold option with a nice ankle strap.

These are my favorite of the bunch. Oh this heel is perfect. And the slope of that sandal. Yes. Just yes. It's part designer, part Studio 54, all fabulous.

Piperlime, Report Adelina, $99
These have a gladiator look to them that I love. You can pair these with a sundress of cut off denim shorts.

A great stacked heel sandal is perfect for summer and there are so many styles to choose from. I love the metallic options because they go with everything.

Shimmering Stuffy

Happy Monday lovebugs,
How are you? How was your weekend? I made 60 maple bacon sugar cookies. Yep. Nailed it.

Ok, moving on. I hope you enjoyed the holiday gift guides last week, if you have any tough ones to shop for on you list, feel free to email me and I would be more than happy to help.

Today we're looking at tweed with metallics. Tweed can get stuffy, adding some shimmer to the weave is just what you need.

A beautiful cap sleeve shift that is just perfect for work or play. I'd add a collar necklace to this number.

J Crew Factory, Tweed Gold Zip Mini, $49
Oh hello black boots and layered gold necklaced. This is the statement piece on its own.

Forever 21, Sparkling Tweed Shift Dress, $25
Ok from this picture, this dress looks like it could fit a third grader, but I'm hoping it's longer in person, because I love the low pockets and the peter pan collar.

Urban Outfitters, CO Metallic Tweed Oversized Blazer, $89
I'm not sure what happened to her pants, but I'm loving this blazer. The faux leather trim is so chic!

Don't let tweed make you feel all skirt suit-y and stuffy, add some shimmer to your tweed.

Metal Meets Loafer

Happy almost Friday lovebugs,
Today we're looking at some loafers, but these aren't your mom's loafers. We're looking at metallic loafers. Sassy, cool and eye catching.

Piperlime, Bass Wendybird 2, $99
If you want one heck of a sturdy shoe, get Bass. The cost per wear will make the price worth it.

Fossil, Calabash Loafer, $98
How about these with some ankle pants? I love the menswear look these loafers have.

Neiman Marcus, Cole Haan Air Tali Loafer, $56
You see that word 'air' in these Cole Haan loafers? That means Nike designed this shoe. That means you can walk a mile in these shoes. You're welcome.

Sperry Top Sider, Brooks, $80
Even Sperry, the boat shoe experts, make a great loafer. I love the snake print on this gold metallic.

Loafers are huge for fall. You've got smoking loafers, penny loafers, you name it. Try out a metallic loafer to add some spice to your outfit.

Metallic Shorts

One of my least favorite things to try on are shorts. I don't know why, there's just something uncomfortable about it. So when I came across the these metallic shorts I thought, now that is something I want to try. A little shimmer makes everything better.

Topshop, Floral Metallic Shorts, $60
Date night party of two? Yes, please.

One, the price. Two, the awesome texture. Three, the price.

H & M, Shorts, $49
I don't know if I could pull these off, but I know some of you could. Please, go work them.

These are short, sassy and ready for a night of dancing with the girls. I love the cuff.

Thoughts on these bold bottoms? I just love them. I think we should all have a go to sparkler outfit in the closet ready to throw on and amaze.

Metallic Cap Toe

Happy Monday lovebugs,
I hope you had a great weekend. Let's make it a great week. We're starting off today with something a little edgy- a metallic cap toe. Something about this style is glitzy but with a don't mess with me vibe.

Top Shop, Magpie 2, $56
These pretty pastel flats are very chic and the pointy toe is just the right amount of sass.

Bloomingdale's, Vince Camuto Oneda, $98
Such a punchy color for a great summer shoe. I'd pair these with a great navy chino ankle pant.

Mia 2, Jay Flat, $59
These look a little vintage to me, I'm loving the black on silver.

The bronze on this shoe is perfect for brown or block, it's a great mix.

Oh this magenta is divine. Combine with the price and this shoe is just fine by me!

All of these flats are sweet, but I think the metallic touch adds a little edge to them. They are great to pair with ankle pants and shorts in these warmed months.

Twinkle Toes

Today let's get some fabulousness on our feet. Metallic oxfords seem to fit the bill. They go with your skinny jeans and even with your bright capris in the spring.

Steve Madden, Trouser, $35
I own these in gold and I LOVE them. They're perfect for a Friday night and if you're really brave, a black pencil skirt for work!

Forever 21, Lame Wingtips, $25
These beauties are a little masculine but I'm picturing them with some wool shorts and tights.

Now these are adorable. So fresh and perfect for chino shorts in the summer.

Matt Benson, Matinee Oxfords, $84
I like these because they're a little like a tennis shoe style.

Do you own any oxfords? They are so big right now, but it definitely takes some guts to wear them!

Not So Vanilla

Great news guys, it's almost Friday.  Do you have any plans for this weekend? The BF and I will be going to watch the Nationals most likely get beat this weekend but hey, we have fun!

Today's post is about neutrals that shine.  I got some inspiration from Loft  and I thought it's a great way to get into spring with some basics and embellishments.

Loft, Sequin Tank, $59
This shirt is so decadent but in the airiest way possible.  I just love the thick straps too!

Talbots, cuffed sash shorts, $48
I really like the pintucks here right underneath the double belt loop.  The sash makes these shorts so special.

Hello summer wedding.  Such a classic piece for day or night.

The light floral pattern on this champagne pencil skirt is perfect for the work day or date night.

So remember, neutrals don't have to be boring.  Add some metallic sheen to it, or a great sequin.  Stand out in your neutrals!

Classy Metallic

Let's talk metallics.  Sure they're easy to wear as jewelry but what about in your wardrobe?  There is a way to wear metallic without it being rock-chick.  Take a look.

Loft, Metallic Skirt, $69
I love this skirt.  The wide waist band matches the hem line and the specks of metallic make it dressy.

Modcloth, Striking Gold Skirt, $45
With black tights? You will be the best dressed girl where ever you go.

I really like how classy this blouse is with the beautiful neck line.

I. Love. These. Shoes. Boat shoe glitz? Perfect.

Metallics can be done in a non-rocker way when broken up into pieces.  Try a tweed skirt with a metallic twill or a blouse with gold embellishment.  It's the perfect way to add some glitz to to your outfit.
