Take it to Another Level

Summer is dress season and I love that. So many colors, patterns, and styles to choose from and one look I'm especially loving is the tiered skirt. This detail give a dress a little extra something. It's sculptural without adding bulk.

This dress is stunning. A crochet knit, illusion neckline, tiered in a crisp white hue.

A simple babydoll shape that would look great for a BBQ and add a jean jacket for evening.

Beautiful pastel stripes with a barely thee neckline and straps. Perfect for a hot summer night.

Saks Off Fifth, Cynthia Steffe Lace Tiered Dress, $69
Got a wedding this summer? I've got your dress.

Add tiers to make a statement. Mix it with lace, crochet, strips, or a print to really have some fun.

Boiling Bows

Its hard to look cute when its this hot outside. I get it. That's why I love the feminine sleeveless blouse. But let's dress it up a bit. Add a big ol' bow to that mix and you've got an eye catching look.

Hello monochrome class. What a stunner. Also comes in the reverse white and black.

A lovely peachy red that really pops with a tan and a white skirt.

A classic staple that you will wear that crap out of. Add a blazer, you're covered through fall.

A great scallop print that you can style for work or play.

Did I mention these blouses are all under $50? Yeah. A easy piece to add to your closet this summer.

Knot Mad

One of my favorite things about women's fashion is that it's always improving on itself. Flares become culottes, platforms become stacked heels, you get the idea. And just when you get bored with one style, a new one pops up. I love a pencil skirt but, let's be honest, it can get tired. So when I found the knot skirt, I knew I found my new love.

Bloomingdale's, Lush Tie Front Mini Skirt, $32
See what I mean? So adorable.

Nordstrom Rack, Socialite Side Knot Bodycon Skirt, $22
A going out skirt with flare. Dang girl.

Lord & Taylor, Kensie Love Poetry Knot Skirt, $29
As if it could get more interesting, a high low situation for the win!

Something super soft and casual. Love this side knot.

These skirts have personality without being loud. Great color and pattern options to make you smile!

Growin Up Gingham

So Fourth of July has come and gone, which means we are in the thick of summer. You know what print just slaps you across the face with summer? Gingham. It's eye catching. It makes for a sweet all over dress print or a preppy piece to mix and match.

A very grown up gingham. Great for a lunch meeting or a dressy brunch with the in laws.

Simple pedal pushers that are easy to dress up or down.

JCrew Factory, Gingham Skirt, $19
Can't beat the price! Love the elastic waist and wait for it...pockets!

Weekend wear acquired.

Sure I love a good polka dot, and a stripe is always nice, but why not gingham for summer?

Tiny Dancer

Let's have some fun on a Friday eve. Show some leg. It's mini skirt tine. Not just any mini skirt, a printed mini that has some personality.

You can't beat this price, and look at the pipe detailing!

Topshop, Tie Mini Skirt, $60
How much FUN is this skirt?! I love the stripe, ruffle, tie, everything!

How stunning is this embroidery? The colors, the pattern, beautiful.

Major sale and great print. I love this with a denim jacket or a blazer.

Remember to know your length when wearing a mini skirt. Do the sit test in the dressing room. Sure a daring hemline is great, a full moon, not so much.

Stubborn as a Mule

Mules are big for this year so I thought we would try some stacked heel mules that are comfortable to walk in and stylish as all get out.

Lord & Taylor, Leather Block Heel Mules, $99
Ok, top of the budget, but think of the cost per wear with these neutral beauties!

Show off your pedicure with these popping heels!

A super blush mule that is so feminine without being sweet.

I'm a sucker for metallic because these heels are party ready.

Rethink your aversion to mules because the new peep toe styles are sassy, fun, and comfortable!

Half Way There

Friday eve lovebugs, let's have some fun. A bootie is nothing new for this season, but what about a mid calf bootie. You can style it a million ways with a skirt, with pants over, you name it. I've picked out a few that have personality for days.

These are amazing. Not quite disco, but certainly not nude. Something dangerously in between.

A sleek stiletto with a pointy toe. Can't beat it.

$100 off? Yeah, I'd buy that.

A great block heel with clean lines in black.

A mid calf bootie is versatile and great for winter. Play with toe box style and heel to match it to your unique look!

Give Me A Twirl

A great skirt is essential for your Monday through Friday domination. Might I recommend an accordion skirt that has movement and grace. It's a skirt that will work for all seasons and all weather. Pleats and all.

I dare you to find a better deal. Also comes in merlot or black.

Everlane, The Pleated Skirt, $88
Pick your staple color: navy or black. This is a workhorse skirt.

I kid you not. This price. Also comes in a steel shimmer.

Lord & Taylor, Wild Hearts Pleated Skirt, $99
Ok, is it a splurge? Maybe. But look at the fit and the movement and the tiny black detail hem!

A great pleated skirt is perfect for twirling, I mean the office. It's sophisticated and chic while also being perfectly playful.

Wrap and Roll

When you're looking for a top that isn't a button down for work, where do you usually turn? Sure, you can go for a bow tie blouse but that usually requires ironing. I love the wrap top because it is is easy and usually machine washable, which let's be honest, is all I really look for in a work blouse.

Lord & Taylor, Plaid Wrap Blouse, $37
I love this top for work or play. Dress it up with a pencil skirt and dress it down with ripped jeans and boots.

Anthropologie, Marceau Wrap Top, $54
A beautiful mossy green that is quiet and comfortable.

Topshop, Flower Wrap Blouse, $65
A cheery and floral print that I love to wear with a pair of pencil pants or under a suit jacket.

Mango, Wrap Blouse, $59
This top is divine. The waist has elastic in it so it fits perfectly to your torso.

Playing with silhouettes using a wrap blouse is great for work or play. Stock up on solids and I promise you will wear them (and wash them) to get your moneys worth.

Legs for Days

I love patterned tights because they give personality to an otherwise demure accessory. Colors, prints, not always my thing, but a great pattern, and I'm talking beyond fishnet, is so much fun for work.

Nordstrom, Commando Colette Tights, $36
Hello glamour.

Express, Polka Dot Full Tights, $10
You know I love some dots and I love the price even more.

Ann Taylor, Scalloped Tights, $20
A great scallop hem is so sweet, I love it even more with tights!

A great stripe that will look even better with a wool pencil skirt.

Dress up your legs this winter with a fun pattern that makes your outfit stand out! Try dots, stripes, lace, anything that catches your eye.
