Hog Tied

Howdy,
When you hear lariat necklace, do you cringe because you think something like this? Fear not my dear. The lariat necklace is a fantastic long accessory to spice up your tee, maxi, and everything in between. I thought we would step it up a notch today and look at some layered lariat necklaces. They're delicate and intricate in all of the best ways.

So delicate and ladylike, I love this with an LBD.

Jules Smith makes so beautiful pieces. This silver option is no different. A great pendant to cap things off.

A great mix of gold and brass for a more festival type look.

Bloomingdale's, Baublebar Facets Layered Necklace, $42
Look at these simple shapes that center the eye all of the way up. A great piece.

A simple lariat necklace is great for a busy print top or dress because it's thin and sleek without being distracting.

Y Not Accessories

How about a simple but statement like necklace for these hot summer nights? Something long, sexy, eye catching, but not super bold. I'm thinking about the y necklace. Its similar to the lariat style necklace but you can play around with charms, metals, and flair. These necklaces go best with form fitting dresses or deep v tops. Think tall glass of water.

I love how this design mixes up the triangle pattern. One, one, two, three, one, two. It is unexpected and fun.

Sole Society, Natural Stone Y Necklace, $29
Look closely and you will see the 'y' part of this necklace is a shark tooth. I love it.

Silver, cool, and collected. This necklace even adds a touch of rocker with the charm.

Can you spot the initial? Right. It's quiet, understated, but personal.

The y necklace is easy to throw on and go. You don't even have to open a clasp to put it on. Wear it with a simple scoop neck white tee or cotton maxi to add just something extra to your outfit.

Howdy Lady

Let's talk jewelry. Let's talk long, elegant, simple jewelry. With me? Ok, stay with me. Let's talk lariat. Still there? Excellent. The lariat style necklace is sleek and chic and with sweater weather, it's a great accessory.

Neiman Marcus, Jules Smith Keep Me Lariat $69
So simple. Gold square, silver oval. I love it.

A nice vintage twist on the lariat style. I love the pearl tassel.

A heavier yet thin braided chain with a bit of sparkle at the end.

Gorjana, Honeycomb Lariat, $80
How genius is this simple honeycomb shape?

The lariat style can be worn ironically for Halloween but when it comes to feminine, understated style, this is just perfect.

Round Em Up

The lariat style is a bit of a throw back. It's an interesting necklace style that makes you stand out rather than just a long strand necklace. You can find them with jewels, bling, or just plain metal. So let's get a little retro and take a look at these lassos.

I started with this necklace because it is so delicate and simple. Clean lines and nothing too busy.

This necklace is adorable, a storm cloud and lightning bolt. Come on.

A great key emblem with Swarovski crystal accents make this dressy but not blingy.

I saved my favorite for last. An astronaut, alien, and flying saucer. LOVE THIS.

The lariat style came from the cowboys, it's a style of lasso. Now it's a great way to mix up your standard strand.
