Partying with Palms

This weekend, I am heading to Florida for a quick birthday trip. A little sun and baseball. That got me inspired to look at some warm weather prints, which is why we're looking at palm leaves today. They're fun, graphic, and come in all colors and styles.

Monochrome chic that I'd add a pop of neon in the form of earrings to really make it stand out.

Is it maxi season yet? Fine, I'll wait, but I'm adding this one to my rotation.

A great dress for evening because it's breezy but the long sleeves make it easy to go from day to night.

Saks Off Fifth, Kensie Palm Print Top, $24
I'm loving this top with some bf jeans and espadrilles.

Sure we may be layering up for a few more weeks, but I'm looking forward to my trip to some warm temps this weekend!

Leather Meets Grandpa

Sticking with yesterday's leather trend, I thought we would take a look at some leather in a less expected place- the leather elbow patch. It's kind of grandpa-ish, kind of preppy, all fall.

Ann Taylor, Faux Leather Elbow Patch Tee, $36 $22!!!!
This stripe option is perfect for the weekend. I'd dress it up with a longer necklace

How simple and classic is this top? This is also a great layering option.

I think is my favorite option. It's comfortable and yet fitted.

Is this expensive? Yes. Is there anything better than a nubby knit boyfriend fit cardigan? Nope. This cardigan will pay for itself in one season.

The leather or faux leather elbox patch is a trendy way to dress up this old school style. I love it for sweatshirts, tops, and sweaters. More elbow patches. More happy.

Bruise Like A Peach

Happy humpday! Today we're looking at another great trend for fall and winter, the black and blue combo. Once a major no no in the fashion world is now all the rage. So forget what you thought you knew. Let's get black and blue. (See what I did there?)

Forever 21, Tribal Print Harem Pants, $19
I'm still not completely convinced I could pull off harem pants. BUT, there are a ton of women out there who can. So this item is for them.

This top is $100 off right now. It's a beautifully crafted top that has all the makings of a piece that will be in your closet for years to come.

I love this skirt because it's not your standard black pencil. It's got texture, structure, and print.

Now we're talking. Layered up black and blue with some dots. This is a great outfit.

Black and blue may not be in your fashion handbook but its here and I'm loving it. Try it with shoes, bags, or just layer up your items for color contrast.
