Rosy Disposition

Rose gold doesn't get enough credit. It's such a beautiful metal tone and I feel like we don't mix it in to our everyday wear as well as we could. Today is for you rose gold. Take your bow.

Alex and Ani, Eros Arrow Ring Wrap, $28
Simple but purposeful. I love the delicate nature of the ring.

Bloomingdale's, Kendra Scott Candice Bracelet, $65
Hello statement piece. This one is a beauty.

I'm not over ear crawlers. I think they are so different and look great with almost any outfit. These rose gold crawlers are great with denim.

Delicate yet quirky. I love this necklace for layering or alone with a long sleeve tee.

Do you wear rose gold? Do you find it difficult to pair with certain colors. I love it with neutrals as a great pop.

Sharp Turn Ahead

It's hump day it's time to have some fun. Color outside the lines, take the long way home, turn up the volume. Did I miss any? Ok good. Going along with this quirky and unexpected theme, let's play with zigzags. These fun and unexpected shapes are great in jewelry because it can be dressed up or down.

How cool is this ring? Simple, delicate, but anything but vanilla.

A little rocker but a little bling. The perfect balance.

Nordstrom Rack, Nadri Zigzag Pendant Necklace, $55 $13
Oh hi there perfection. A little color makes the perfect statement.

Saks Off Fifth, Pave Zig Zag Ear Crawler Set, $19
May have saved my favorite for last. I'm still not over ear crawlers. These are great.

So zig a little, zag a little, who stays in the lines these days anyway? Well if you're driving, stay in your lane, please. We're not crazy here, we're talking about jewelry.

The Tortoise and the Accessory

Let's talk tortoise. Tortoise is usually seen in glasses or homeware, but today we're looking at some fantastic tortoise jewelry. It's as classic as pearls and much more affordable.

A real stunner of a necklace. I'm wearing this all year round for the perfect pop with any outfit.

Lord and Taylor, Kate Spade Tortoise Studs, $38
You can't beat this price for a pair of Kate Spade studs that you can wear for work or play.

Picture this with a cashmere turtleneck sweater or a simple white tee. Exactly. Do it all.

BaubleBar, Midi Tortoise Cuff, $32
Arm party of one? Yes. Also comes in a slim version.

These pieces are eye-catching and they don't break the bank. Tortoise is a classic look that you can pair with just about any color, print, or style. Always works.

Raw Beauty

We all love bling. Big, small, statement, or sweet, we love a great piece of sparkle. What I am really leaning towards right now is the raw bling, specifically druzy. This stone brings a natural and unfinished look to any piece.

Rose gold, y'all. I mean come on. Stunning.

Sole Society, Natural Agate Bracelet, $54
Not your average wrap bangle, this has got some dimension.

Tom's Marketplace, Green Druzy Stone Earrings, $38
What a beautiful pop of color and these earrings help create jobs for artisans in Brazil.

A winter white stone is going to look beautiful against a cashmere sweater.

A beautiful stone will always take your outfit to the next level but they're often over your budget. These druzy options are perfect for your outfit and your wallet.

Opal-eese

Let's play with a fine stone. It's almost Friday, I think we have earned some pretty things. Let's look at some opal. I love this stone because it comes in so many different color variations. I particularly like the milk opal. The creamy stone with flecks of pink and green when the light hits it just right.

Need Supply, Tiny Marquis Ring, $70
Minimalistic but so pretty. I love the rose gold.

Baublebar, Malisandre Stud Earrings, $32
A beautiful cluster for a stud earring. Busy but not heavy.

White House Black Market, White Opal Teardrop Necklace, $24
On a hot summer day, who wouldn't want this frosty necklace around their neck?

Bloomingdale's, Rebecca Minkoff Two Stone Cuff, $98
Simple, bold, and unassuming. Very cool.

What do you think about opal? If you love it, what shade or type is your favorite? This milky hue goes with everything in my closet.

Bees Knees

A few weeks ago we had some fun with summer inspired prints. Today I thought we would play around with something a bit more dangerous- the bumble bee. What a fun way to accessorize this summer.

I'm starting with my favorite. This classic gold necklace is spiced up with three tiny additions.

How about this fun bracelet with a sundress? Also comes in a yellow/coral.

Look closely at this statement necklace. There are no actual bees on it but the way the beading and gold come together, you get one heck of an illusion.

Shopbop, Tai Bee Earrings, $60
And let's end with a playful stud. So cute and casual for summer.

Don't worry, you don't need your epi pen for this trend. Just enjoy the accessory and style it preppy, classic, or something with sting like a bit rocker.

So Not the 90s

Hi lovebugs,
Happy Monday to you! Are you buried in snow? DC is trying to decide what it wants to do between slush and snow. I'm hoping for a snow day but in the meantime let's talk jewelry. There is a really interesting trend in necklaces right now that is edgy but depending on how you wear it can still be feminine: the choker. This 90s grunge accessory has been updated from what you knew. It's sleek and sexy, let's take a look.

BaubleBar, Gemini Pearl Choker, $36
How about this? Asymmetrical pearls would look great with a suit or have some fun with a silky blouse. There is also a similar option in silver.

Quite a modern a cool look that would be fun with buffalo plaid.

This is very Cleopatra and I love it.

Forever 21, Rhinestone Choker, $10
Just simple. Nothing wild, nothing screaming 'look at me', just a beautiful line of sparkle.

Thoughts? Chokers are certainly not what they used to be. Quite an upgrade if you ask me.

Tied with a Ribbon

On Monday we looked at bow belts and I thought we would keep the bow trend going with some ribbons. More specifically, ribbon necklaces. I really like this look especially with heavier, statement necklaces because it offers a more feminine take.

I mean, hello? Pink, black and gold. So sweet and yet so bold.

Soft tones make this necklace perfect with a cream sweater and simple long sleeve tees.

BaubleBar, Jasmine Ribbon Necklace, $58
This necklace screams blogger to me. Its bold, a little vixen-y, all balanced with a black ribbon.

J Crew, Metal Shield Necklace, $52 (use code SHOPNOW for an extra 25% off!)
How about something a bit simpler? Minimalist at its best, pair with a turtleneck cashmere sweater.

Ribbon necklaces aren't all frills and rainbows. They have some weight to them, and that's why I like them. It's a great juxtaposition.

Look into the Crystal Ball

It's humpday, let's look at something shiny, something blingy. Let's look at some crystals. I love a crystal jewelry option because it's affordable but packs a punch.

A statement piece but with a delicate chain.

Stella and Dot, Urbane Bracelet, $34
How about something pretty but with a ball and chain twist?

J Crew, Crystal Feather Earrings, $38 (extra 25% with code SHOPFALL)
I love the shape of these earrings. They remind me of an ear cuff but so much more delicate.

BaubleBar, Crystal Mason Ring, $28
Sculptural but not heavy. A great combination for this conversation starter of a ring.

Crystal accessories make a big impact but because they're not a precious stone, they're easy on your wallet. For crystal bracelets, you can also layer on some colorful leather or fabric bracelets to the arm party.

So Very Vera

Happy back to work after a three day weekend lovebugs, I hope you had a great Labor Day. Today I want to talk affordable jewelry. There are so many options out there: BaubleBar, Sole Society, and Forever 21. Today let's step up the game and talk about a woman who knows her jewelry: Vera Wang. Yes, that Vera. And she's got everything from engagement rings to diamond studs to the more affordable stuff that we're looking at today.

These Anthro look-a-likes will cost you less than lunch. Stunningly simple.

A cocktail ring for work or play.

I love this with an LBD or tucked under the collar of an oxford.

I think every woman needs this style of necklace in her closet. It's sleek, it's eye catching and its the cherry on any outfit.

Vera has taken her timeless style that you love from her dresses and translated it into jewelry that you can wear for work or play.
