On the Trellis

One print that I am loving right now is the trellis print. It works for anyone. Pick the size of the print, color and style it just for you. The trellis print is something different to mix in with your stripes and dots.

These lightweight earrings are great with a suit or for a fall wedding.

I love a fall scarf and this wool silk blend is no exception.

A great carryall bag that you can swing over your shoulder.

A smaller trellis print is perfect for these loose pants.

The trellis print is unexpected and doesn't scream preppy. I like it for accessories and clothing.

Silk Shirtdress

Hello lovebugs!

I'm absolutely loving silk this spring. It's easy to wear and comes in so many colors. Right now I'm loving silk shirtdresses. They are casual and cool and so chic.

Anthropologie, Mod Garden Dress, $99
Who doesn't love this great graphic print. The colors are just stunning. I'm personally picturing my good friend, LPU rocking this dress with some pointy toe shoes.

This dress is screaming for accessories! Belt it, add a long tassel necklace and add  great bag!

Modcloth, Beach Club Dress, $74
The pastel colors are just beautiful on this dress, I also love the pleating on the skirt.

Collective Concepts, Multi Stripe Shirt Dress, $79
Prefer some darker stripes? How about this fantastic number?

Silk is so perfect for a hot climate and something like a shirtdress is so easy to throw on and walk out the door!

Get in Line

Lovebugs,
Yesterday we talked button downs and I thought we'd continue that trend with military inspired dresses that are so often detailed with buttons, grommets, and other bling.

J Jill, Military Sweater Dress, $35 (!!)
I love this outfit with a pair of flat boots.  And the price? Hello.

I never really got into the chambray trend but this dress with these suede wedges- perfect.

J Crew, Jane Dress, $69
The v-neck, the pockets, the sleeves, the price! Buy it.

Lutz & Patmos, Short Dress, $79
Now this is how you dress up the military trend.  Black silk and a deep drape neckline.

Military jackets will surely be seen this fall, but why not try military dresses? Great with flat knee high boots of suede lace-up wedges.

The Classic Shirt

The classic white button down is one of the most important items in any wardrobe. Period.  Why? Let me count the ways.

  1. It will stand the test of any trend, style, or passing fashion obsession
  2. It is the definition of clean, crisp, and put together
  3. It can be worn $300 suit OR a $30 pair of jeans
  4. Do you really need more?
Every woman should have at least one standard button down in white.  The variations on this masterpiece are also something to experiment with.  Today I'm going to show you some of my favorite not-so-traditional button down whites.

Rugby, Skinny Ryder Shirt, $60
I love the detachable sash on this shirt and the french cuffs give it an extra bit of wow.

7 for all mankind, piecing top, $69
Like I said, sometimes you need a clean and crisp shirt for the weekend.  This is it.

I LOVE this tuxedo pleat style.  Can you picture it with a bold pencil skirt? Yum.

Nordstrom, Tahari Tundra blouse, $59.50
Besides the fact that this model looks like she's about to sneeze; look at the great rouching and darting down the torso.  This is going to bring attention up from any problem mid-section areas and showcase your beautiful collarbone.

The white button down will serve so many purposes for you.  Work, play, dress up, relax, you name it.  The best part about it is your ability to have fun with it.  Metallic skinny belt it or go for a emerald green drop earring.  So many possibilities.

Also, for my more well-endowed friends out there.  You know who you are.  Fear not! The ultimate button down pucker solution!!!!!  No See 'ems I swear by 'em.
