A Flower For the Lady

Happy Monday lovebugs,
I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Mine was full of friends, sangria and chinese food. Pretty great combination I must say.

Today I wanted to look at a beautiful trend for summer; floral cocktail rings. Florals are huge for summer, you can find them on dresses, capris, and tops but let's look at some gorgeous rings that have some color and bling.

1. Can we talk about how much we hate this model for her cheekbones? Seriously.
2. This ring is perfect for any sundress.

Modcloth, Stunning Sakura Ring, $15
The color is beautiful, reminds me of the DC cherry blossoms.

I couldn't leave my girl Kate out of this! Perfect black, white and gold.

Simple, silver and chic. So perfect for work or play.

I really love florals because they are feminine and lovely for warmer weather.

Punchy Floral

Happy humpday lovebugs,
I hope your week is going well and that wherever you are reading this, your weather is stunning.

Speaking of weather, do you love flowers? I do. True story, The bf brings me fresh flowers almost every week. But there is a difference between loving flowers and wearing flowers. I don't love wearing florals; so when I do I mix them in with accessories.

I really love these pumps and the continuing of the print down the heel makes it unique.

This would be great over a navy cardigan and a sundress, I love the hardware, it gives this girly piece some edge.

Tropical, punchy, and perfect for bf jeans and a tank.

Guess, Dinigan Scarf, $68
I love this color blend. Just gorgeous for evening.

How do you style florals? I really like a punch floral, something not so sweet, a little tangy maybe.

Fall Floral

When you think floral, you think warm weather, easy-breezy and feminine, but you can keep your floral this fall, just by changing up the colors!

Ralph Lauren, Floral Jersey Dress, $85
The darker tones and the empire waist make this dress a great transition piece with the right tights and accessories.

The Limited, floral tights, $14
These are so feminine and perfect for the office.
I love this top. The round neckline, the ruffle detail and the sleeve length. Just beautiful.

The colors here are muted, but the pattern makes it vibrant.

So when wearing florals in the colder weather think the colors of the leaves changing and in the dead of winter, try some jewel toned florals.

Daisy Dos!

Daisies! How cheery and light.  They are one of my favorite flowers! How about wearing them?

Kate Spade, Daisy Stud Earring, $45
Oh Kate! I love you and your fabulous earrings!

Nordstrom, Halogen Flower Applique, $40
3/4 length sleeves make this cardi perfect for spring.

Forever 21, Retro daisy skirt, $18
This skirt is beyond adorable.  Great A-line, great pattern.

Topshop, green scribble daisy, $32
Are you ready for summer when you look at this top? It's almost a piece of graffiti art! And the scalloped hem is lovely.

What are your fave florals to wear? Get ready, Spring is coming, I promise!

Flowers? For me?

Florals are just as relevant in the dead of winter as they are in the middle of summer.  They add embellishment and interest to an outfit.  Florals need to be tailored to fit the season however; your cotton light pink floral tank is not going to do well even with a cardi over it right now.  Try changing the palate or maybe the cut of the piece.  Look for more structure in the winter whereas in the spring and summer, loose and casual is the way to go.

Banana Republic, Silk floral slit neck, $52 with code (BRSUPER25)
I really like the mix of charcoal with orange and pink.  Plus its got a great shrunken pocket detail on the top.

Anthropologie, Wispy Blooms Scarf, $54
Where to begin with this beauty? I like this with an LBD, under a trench, as a headband, and tied to my handbag.  Do it all scarf!

Modcloth, Bright up your alley, $70
This dress is darling! Even though the print is bold, you can really have fun with accessories.  Try a wide black belt and some great tights!

Floral is tough for bottoms, especially in the winter.  But this darker palate would look great with black tights and open-toed heels.

Florals are a great way to warm up an outfit.  They are interesting to look at and attract attention.  Remember to look for darker palates when wearing floral in the colder months.
