In Full Bloom

It's the last of the season for one of my favorite flowers - hydrangea. I love their fullness and bright colors. Believe it or not they also appear in fashion. This pretty floral makes a greta print!

Scarves are going to be big for fall and I like this one in particular because it's not big. It's skinny, manageable, and great for work.

Loft, Ruffled Maxi Dress, $98
Oh hello great addition to my summer/fall closet!

Lord & Taylor, Dooney & Burke Lexi Crossbody, $72
The perfect summer bag for any outfit.

Such a delicate waterfall of flowers. Almost watercolor-esque.

A great hydrangea is lush and aromatic. These picks will remind you of spring and summer all year long!

Coming Up Flowers

Happy Monday lovebugs,
This weekend in DC was full of 65 degree weather and outdoor fun. By fun I mean happy hour, dinner, shopping, and magazine reading. Just in case you were wondering if I ran or bicycled (word?) or something.

This weather is making me feel inspired. Last week we looked at floral pencil skirts and today I thought we would continue the floral trend with some heels. Perfect for spring and colors for days.

Half off and dying for a night out. Come on, $40 with some white jeans and a silk blouse, yes.
Nordstrom Rack, Ivanka Trump Indico Floral Pump, $119 $69
Planning  to wear any white eyelet this summer? These are going to be your go to.

Ann Taylor, Eryn Floral Kitten Heels, $98 $49 and free shipping with code CYBER50
I feel it's only fair to tell you when I buy things that I blog. This is one of those times. $49. Free shipping. Hello.

These shoes are made for strutting. A real statement maker during wedding season too!

Spring means florals and I love to see them pop on heels, especially when the pattern continues all of the way down the heel. A small detail that makes a difference.

How Original

Florals for spring, how original. But hang on, florals have changed. They've been upgraded. Florals are not just Easter Sunday or pretty cupcake prints anymore, oh no. They're oversized, unexpected colors, and nothing you'd expect. Today we're taking on florals in work-ready pencil skirts.

See what I told you? Didn't see this one coming. So crisp and fresh for spring.

A little That 70s Show but pair it with a silk bow blouse and you're ready for 9-5.

This skirt is going to hug your hips and slim your waist.

Can't beat the price! This is something out of an adult coloring book and I love it.

Don't pass on floral this spring. I promise you can find something that is going to work with tops that are already in your closet. Play with stripes or dots on top to really add a punch.

Buy Me Flowers for No Reason

It's hump day. We're getting there. To spruce up today let's look at something pretty, some unexpected florals. The following florals are modern, cool, sophisticated and not your mom's Easter floral.

The exposed front zipper gives this pretty print some edge.

Told you these were a different kind of floral. I love the mustard with black and white on these jeans.

The best part about this dress isn't the floral, it's the epic orange stripe down the sides. So chic.

JCPenny, Stylus Twill Shorts, $17
A bright pair of shorts are going to get a lot of wear this summer. And the price is right.

The right floral will do wonders for your wardrobe and these options are quite lovely and unexpected. Try a floral in more than just a Sunday dress. Wear it to work, add tasseled jewelry for date night, you name it, the floral will help.

Stop and Smell Winter

Happy Monday lovebugs,
It's still winter, according to a furry and hungry groundhog. I'm sorry about that, but you know, with fashion, you don't have to look like the weather. Let's take florals for instance; yes a lovely floral dress is perfect for mid-June, but you can also wear these blossoms in a long sleeve version in the winter.

Take this watercolor inspired top. It brings so much warmth to a pair of jeans, a pencil skirt or layered under a vneck sweater.

Piperlime, Eight Sixty Floral Top, $79
RIP Piperlime, so grab this top while you can. I love the micro print with rosy hues.

Lucky Brand, Black Floral Top, $49
A work ready scoop neck that is can handle a long delicate necklace or something a bit heavier

How about some jade to inject into your closet? This top is great as is with it's big pattern or layer with a button down for a work ready wear.

Fear not warm weather lovers, spring is coming, but in the meantime, enjoy some florals that can take the cold.

Heck Yeah I'm Wearing Flowers

So I got you flowers. I know! For no special reason at all, which in my opinion is the best reason to give and get flowers. Today I got you big flowers, oversized flowers that are a great way to hold onto summer.

Urban Outfitters, Cameo Lift Off Bomber Jacket, $228 $99
Feminine meets moto chic. I love this mix and these colors.

I love this layered tank that is so delicate and yet machine washable!

No surprise here that Nordstrom nails it with this transition floral sweatshirt.

Neon pink with pops of black is the exact contrast that you can pull off with floral.

Big flowers, I mean oversized, in your face, heck-yeah-I'm-wearing-floral prints are a great trend. Try it! I'm telling you, the compliments will be blossoming. See what I did there?

Go Boldly

Hey there lovebugs,
Happy almost Friday to you. Last month at about this time we looked at some floral pants. Today we're going to continue the floral trend but look at some bolder prints. Some flowers that just can't be contained in you usual, expected colors, patterns, and shapes.

Dorothy Perkins, Floral Printed Mesh Dress, $79
Boom. Now we're talking floral. I love everything about this dress: the shape, the gathering at the waist, colors, oh I just love it.

How about these big ol flowers? Modern, graphic and so much fun.

Lord and Taylor, Tracy Reese Floral Shift Dress, $98
This floral has more of a disco vibe to it. I would pair it with some killer high espadrilles.

Modcloth, Work of Pop Art Top, $49
How about this top? There is so much fabulous going on I'm having trouble not adding it to my cart and checking the heck out at modcloth.com.

Florals aren't just for your pretty Sundays or meeting your grandmother. Try out some bolder colors, some bigger patterns, try some unexpected florals.

All In: May Flowers

Hey there lovebugs,
Happy Monday to you. It's also the first Monday of the month which means it's all in day. And fittingly today's theme is May flowers. A casual but beautiful outfit perfect to encourage spring. I love this chambray shirt dress but I think I love these mini block heels more. Talk about versatile.

Blooming Butt

Hey there lovebugs,
Happy Monday to you. I hope its full of smiles and not allergies. Stupid spring, getting all up in your nose like that. So today I say, screw you pollen, I'm wearing flowers on my pants.

A breezy pant for weekends. Too wild for you? Try a wide belt to define the waist.

Hello sunshine! Check you out.

Ann Taylor, Evening Floral Cropped Pant, $89
Oh I just love this big print. The neutral colors mean you can pair it with just about anything. Think of the options, denim jacket, blazer, red silk blouse.

Asos, Peg Pant in Shadow Floral, $41
How chic are these pants? Perfectly placed pin tuck pleats at the waist and a slim ankle.

So you may be loaded up on Claritin or swimming in tissues, but there is no reason to rule out florals. Just show pollen whose boss and own those pants.

Something Blue

Spring is for florals but when you get past the pastels, the magentas, and the orchid colors, you will find yourself in a more jeweled world. The sapphire. This color neither navy nor sky blue, its somewhere in between.

For reference we go to the pros: pantone.

These petal inspired earrings are a step up from your average stud earring.

NY & Co, Soft Floral Pant, $59
A gathered elastic waistband makes these easy breezy pants perfect for a warm summer night.

This light and airy accessory can be added to a simple tee, under a denim jacket, or with a white button down.

Talk about your classic sundress. This simple sapphire lace floral can stand alone or pile on a statement necklace

Florals are expected this time of year, mix it up with an unexpected color: sapphire.

A Bouquet for Me?

Yesterday we looked at some spring skirts. Today, let's continue the trend and hope for warmer weather. Let's look at some watercolor inspired florals that are perfect for right now. They're graphic and colorful and they are just what we need on this hump day.

Lord and Taylor, Dual Print Cardigan, $55
I'd pair this sweet print with leather pants, because I'm wild like that. And check out the back of this cardigan, didn't see that coming did you?

New York & Company, Floral Soft Pant, $59
I love this mix of black and blue here and the pops of white just freshen it up.

How about a big graphic print? I love the bright colors and midi length of this pencil.

Guys if you need me, I'll be over at Landsend.com because this floral is just perfect.

Florals aren't just for the middle of spring and summer, try them now with your closed toe shoes and a cardigan. Bright colors will make spring come faster, promise.
