Pointed in the Right Direction

Hello, hello! It is Tuesday and while we're a long ways from Friday, shoes make everything better. Especially sassy flats. And today, I've got a doozy for you today - pointy toe tassel loafers.

I mean, hello. Navy patent leather pointy tassel loafers. What more could a girl ask for?
I like the slight heel on this shoe. Gives it an edge to a ballet flat.

Nordstrom, Sole Society Hart Kittie, $79
Two tiny tassels with a d'Orsay shape make these perfect for fall and in winter with tights.

Nordstrom, Louise et Cie Aradella, $83
Currently 40% off (!!) these shoes are a classic neutral to go with anything.

So how about it? Switch out your heels for a flat with personality and command. Not as dainty as a ballet flat and not as masculine as a penny loafer. The tassel pointy toe is the perfect medium.

Capturing My Attention

Call me crazy but I think cap toe is making a comeback. Of course there is the classic Chanel ballet flat.  But the modern cap toe is sleek and it's modern. If that doesn't sell you, it's a comfortable flat, how can you say no to that?

Last Call Neiman Marcus, Gretchen Pointed Toe Flat, $76
Let's just take a moment to breathe in these flats. Pair it with pearls and call it a day.

This shoe is Pink Ladies meets T Birds and that's fantastic.

Tommy Hilfiger, Pointed Cap Toe Flat, $54
Such a beautiful fall shoe. I love the mix of deep merlot and gray.

Quilted and a patent toe? Sign me up.

Playing with the cap toe trend is so much fun because you can pair a typically 'buttoned up' shoe with bf jeans or suede pants.

Lucky I'm in Leopard

It's Monday, major bummer. Let's have some fun with leopard. These ankle strap detail leopard flats are comfortable and eye catching.

So chic. I love the tassel detailing.

A tiny heel never hurt any one! These rounded toes are so sweet.

Simple. Looks great with jeans, a skirt, or cropped chinos.

Zappos, Steve Madden Sunshn, $79
These are my favorite. A great print and color.

Leopard flats are bound to brighten your Monday. Right? Right.

Do A Double Take

Who doesn't love a great double take. That thing/look/smile that makes you turn around to make the moment last just a bit longer. These shoes do just that because they pack a punch in the back. The bow back shoe is simple, feminine, and sassy. Get ready for some whiplash.

Sole Society, Mabel, $79 $59
Perfection with bf jeans because its the perfect mix of casual ripped denim and girly yellow bow.

Charlotte Russe, Pointed Toe Slingback Pumps, $35 $18
Sexy slingbacks under $20? Sign me up!

Prefer a flat? How about these springy sandals? They also come in gold!

A beautiful everyday pump with an unexpected cutout.

A back bow is great for spring when the hemlines start to come up. Play with heels or flats, you cannot go wrong with a bow.

All That Glimmers

Tis the season for sparkles and glitter. That's why I am please to present some of my favorite sparkly shoes this season. These beauties add some pop to your work or cocktail attire. Mix them in with jeans or a dress, they are so versatile and fun.

Oh hello puff sparkle perfection. No explanation needed. I just need them

Boden, Audrey Bow Flat, $96
These are not your mom's sparkle flats. But with this stately bow? So lovely.

A little mary jane action? Why not. In gold glitter or black.

Ann Taylor, Dawn Glitter Flats, $98
These are a little celestial, no? I like them with tights or jeans.

As the old saying goes, a little glitter never hurt anyone and if you're not on board with the sparkly dress, try something more subtle. A pop of glimmer this holiday season.

Bows and Bandwagons

Happy Monday lovebugs,
Today I'm giving in to a fall trend that I've seen everywhere. Blogs, magazines, you name it. I'm talking about the lace up flats. Yep. At first I was like, 'but what's wrong with my normal flats?' but then I started to understand that bit of detail the lace adds. I like them because they can go from work to play easily. Now, let's look at options.

Boden, Lille Lace-Up Point Flats, $138 $41
Didn't expect this price, did you? Stunning. In navy or orange as well but I'm picking up the silver for holiday parties.

Speaking of holiday shoes...these red flats. I'm pairing it with a sequin mini or black culottes for work.

A beautiful neutral that works with black or brown.

Lord and Taylor, Anne Klein Ottilia Leather Flats, $79 $53
And a standard, beautiful neutral. I really like the d'orsay style of this flat.

Have you jumped on the lace up flat bandwagon? I'm really digging these flats for comfort and style.

She's Tied Pretty Tight

Happy Monday lovebugs,
As we inch closer to the end of summer and our mailboxes fill with three pound fall fashion magazines, I can't help but peek into next season's trends. I love a trend that I know will work now and later, one of those is lace up flats. They are walkable, detailed, and perfect for summer or fall.

So sleek. I love the mix of the espadrille lace up and the pointy toe flat.

Missguided, Point Lace Up Flats Snake, $40
Picture these with jeans and a white tee OR a black pencil skirt. Whoa.

If shoes can be girly, these fit the bill. And speaking of the bill- $45 with free shipping!

Free People, Washed Leather Ballet Flat, $88
Simple comfort. These flats have an earthy feel and they're going to work perfectly for fall.

I love a great trend, but I love it more when I can get multiple season wears out of it!

Beautiful Brogue

Let's talk footwear inspired by men. Brogues to be exact. The Brogue shoe has some history: it is a style of low-heeled shoe or boot traditionally characterised by multiple-piece, sturdy leather uppers with decorative perforations (or "broguing") and serration along the pieces' visible edges. [Source]

I love these shoes because they're functional, masculine, and preppy. Let's look at some options.

I love this red option. It's what Dorothy would have worn on a day-today basis. Pair these with bf jeans in the summer and black ponte leggings now.

These bad boys are half off and I am dying to pair them with an LBD now and a floral sundress later.

I really like these with a pair of ankle pants. They are quite tailored.

And for something a bit different but still on major sale, these no lace beauties.

I really like the brogue trend because it injects some masculinity into your look but you can play off it and wear a big bow top or a very feminine necklace to balance it out.

Metal Detector

Shoe trends come and go but one that I think has and will stick around for a while is the cap toe. It's such a simple detail that you can dress up or down. Today we're looking at metal cap toe flats.

Sole Society, Dylann, $59
A sweet braided t-strap in a fall suede is great with a cord mini.

This is like the tuxedo of flats. Chic and classic.

Last Call Neiman Marcus, Seychelles Juniper Cap Toe Pointy Flat, $79 $39!!
Get. In. My Closet. Goodness gracious these shoes.

You've got to love a taupe suede. So mature and effortless.

A perfectly walkable flat with a bit of flare. Bring on the metallic cap toe.
