Beautiful Brogue

Let's talk footwear inspired by men. Brogues to be exact. The Brogue shoe has some history: it is a style of low-heeled shoe or boot traditionally characterised by multiple-piece, sturdy leather uppers with decorative perforations (or "broguing") and serration along the pieces' visible edges. I love these shoes because they're functional, masculine, and preppy. Let's look at some options.

I love this red option. It's what Dorothy would have worn on a day-today basis. Pair these with bf jeans in the summer and black ponte leggings now.

These bad boys are half off and I am dying to pair them with an LBD now and a floral sundress later.

I really like these with a pair of ankle pants. They are quite tailored.

And for something a bit different but still on major sale, these no lace beauties.

I really like the brogue trend because it injects some masculinity into your look but you can play off it and wear a big bow top or a very feminine necklace to balance it out.

Thin Mints

I did very well this year guys, really well. I successfully avoided the Girl Scout cookie invasion. I know. Round of applause for those who have not eaten a thin mint this year. Oh thin mints, those delicious chocolate circles of heaven, how can I even begin to try to replace them? Let's think of something else minty...gum, ice cream, shoes. Ah yes, mint shoes.

Oh these are amazing, a metallic cap top mint pump. Sorry Girl Scouts, you're not selling anything like these.

Check out the embellishment on these beauties. They remind me of a princess slipper.

Franco Sarto, Maren, $85
This silver mint colorblock is perfect with a new pedi.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with these ballet flats. They are everything you could want in a simple skimmer.

Minty things don't always have to add pounds to your waistline. Try mint shoes this season as an excuse to not earn another 'I ate an entire sleeve of thin mints' badge on your vest. Don't judge, we've all been there.

Studly Sandals

Let's look at some bad ass sandals. Studded. Embellished is always nice but sometimes you want something with a little more edge.

Lord and Taylor, Enzo Angiolini Trendon Sandal, $59
A great price for these chic and sassy sandals. I'd pair these with some of yesterday's printed pants!

Steve Madden, Bravery, $79
These look surprisingly comfortable for a day of walking around the city. The red leather would go with everything.

Wear these and you will rock them. They are not holding anything back.

Aldo, Exit, $50
Simple, to the point and goes with just about anything you want to wear this summer.

So are you feeling edgy? These studded flat sandals are certainly one way to leave your flip flops at home and spice things up.

Strapping Color

Hey there lovebugs,
Happy Monday to you! I had a great weekend that was full of relaxing with my puppy Norman, Thai takeout and reading magazines. Sometimes those do nothing weekends are just the best.

Today I want to start things off colorfully. Multi-color striped sandals are a fantastic way to brighten up your summer style and depending on the colors- match with everything!

I really like this sandal because the ankle strap isn't super obtrusive, it seems to go with the shoe.

Nordstrom, J Renee Cori Sandal, $89
I could walk around in these all weekend long. Grab a white sundress and let's go!

Enzo Angiolini, Idyll wedges, $52
Well hello lovely! These remind of a sweet piece of candy, I love these sassy strappy wedges.

Free People, Dora Sandal, $60
These are perfect for some colored jeans or a cotton dress.

Don't these shoes put a spring in your step? I love their personality. Wear them with just about anything.
