She Just Likes to Embellish

Happy Monday lovebugs,
I hope you had a great weekend. Today I thought we would start things off with some shine, because what does Monday need other than coffee and sparkle? Right. Let's look at some beautifully embellished sweaters.

A beautiful shade of mint with a great cream collar addition.

Piperlime Willow & Clay, Embellished Jewel Sweatshirt, $79
I love this option for work. A pencil skirt paired with the comfort of fleece and you still look fancy.

J Crew Factory, Embellished Sweater, $58
Who doesn't love a nice merino blend? And in a rich navy? Sold.

And for something a little different, this shoulder embellished sweater. I love this emerald shade.

Built in sparkle to your top. No need for a necklace, this option takes care of it. You can go all over bling or pops of sparkle with the collar or shoulder. If you're looking for an easy, matches pretty much anything in your closet top, this is your go to. Throw it over a dress, pair it with jeans, or add some shine to a corduroy mini skirt.

Embellish Much?

Happy Monday lovebugs,
Let's talk embellishment. Something shiny to cheer up the start to our work week. While this weather is still trying to figure out what it wants to do, one piece you can always count on is a crisp blouse. Today's feature highlights the collar. A little embellishment.

A sassy neon with a chic peplum. This is a great stand alone or layering piece.

Light and breezy and a peek a boo back detail.

Talk about subtle. Check out the barely there detail on the corners of the collar. So feminine.

Picture this under a suit jacket. Yeah. Hello unexpected.

Embellishment comes in all shapes, styles, colors, and sizes. A nice collar embellishment is sometimes all you need. Chin up lovebug, let's get through this Monday.

She's Known to Embellish

Hey there lovebugs, happy Monday to you. I hope you had a great weekend. It's my first full week back to work and I hope it just flies by!

Here at TCB we only look at items under $100 and sometimes even spending that much is a lot. So today I want to look at pieces that do double-duty. Like an embellished collar. So much perk on such a small part of the top. Suddenly a standard oxford is dressed up or a dress now has an added element of sweet. Let me explain...

What I love about this top is sequins usually mean dressy, this simple peter pan collar makes this blouse easier to wear for everyday!

This picture isn't the best but this sequin collar is so quiet and sexy. I'd pair this with black jeans and pumps.

Oh hey adorable! Look at this sweet dress. Wear this to a party, because when (when not if) he watches you walk away, BAM! It's an open back dress.

You know why I love this dress? You can put a pencil skirt over it and it works as a fantastic blouse. Double duty.

Embellishment is easy to do with jewelry or other accessories, but an embellished collar is simple, easy and built in!

Don't Count Out the Little Guy

Welcome back lovebugs!
I hope if you celebrated Christmas it was just wonderful. Now we get to enjoy the loot and prep for the New Year.

Today I thought we'd look at some clutches. Beaded clutches to be exact. I think they're a great accessory for NYE or just to add some detail to and everyday outfit.

This is a stunner for a black tie event. Such a beautiful mix of textures.

Banana Republic, Beaded Crossbody, $98
Ok hear me out, I know this tiny bag is $98, but you can wear this with a dress, with jeans, with whatever you can imagine. I absolutely love it.

Club Monaco, Lucy Beaded Clutch, $99
Wow. Look at the detail on this bag. Just a beautiful accessory that would match just about any color.

Urban Outfitters, Ecote Arts of Ruin Clutch, $49
A little more casual, but the price tag reflects that. I love the different sized beads.

Beaded clutches are a fabulous accessory that will never go out of style. Dress them up or down, but they'll always pack a punch.

Start with a Shell

You know what's awesome about fall? So many things; football, apple cider, jeans, crock pots, football, but you know, one of my favorite things about fall is layering.  Adding more pieces to an ensemble. And the basis of layering it a sleeveless shell. This can sound boring, but add some collar detail or some  jeweled notes and you have a perfect canvas to just walk out the door or add a cardi, a blazer, a jean jacket, you name it!

The best part about this top is...everything. You can wear this with dark denim, a bright orange mini, you name it, it's going to work!

Forever 21, Rhinestone A-line tank, $22
This tank is very simple, a great going out top or add a bright blazer to it.

The Limited, Jeweled Halter, $14
I love this bubble hem and the color is such a stand out!

Great bib, great pleating and great neutral color. This will work for so many occasions.

A great shell is the perfect start to any outfit. Add layers or go simple. Either way, these embellished shirts are sure to please.

Your Essential Winter Gloves

People, who noticed Kate Middelton's BLUE dress on Tuesday?  What did I tell you? She looked gorgeous.  Oh and the engagement ring helped too...

Also- tomorrow is Friday Foodday so please send me your recipes to post!

As the weather gets colder, I find myself needing a pair of gloves to walk to work in.  While the options are endless, I find I need 3 different pairs in my rotation: the leather, the embellished, and the texter.  Let me show you:

Nordstrom, Lined Leather Gloves, $60
Gloves are like umbrellas, you always lose them.  If you invest some money into them you are more likely to keep track of them! These are beautiful gloves that are long enough to go inside your coat so the wind doesn't go up your arm!  Very classic and versatile.

Ralph Lauren, Triple Ruffle Knit Glove, $35
The embellished glove I consider my fun glove.  You can pick a cable knit in a great bright color, maybe some detailing.  I like these because they're super girly.

The texting glove.  Sometimes you just need a pair!  And this one coverts into a mitten when you're all done.  Love the pattern and the bright colors.

What are your favorite types of gloves? Fleece lined, mittens?
