Into the Jungle

Feeling wild on hump day? Yeah, me too. I'm itching for the weekend and that's got me thinking about going out bags. I love a great clutch because they hold just the essentials and can really make an outfit. Today I thought we would look at a real eye catcher, the leopard clutch.

Dorothy Perkins, Leopard Structured Clutch Bag, $29
Can't beat this price for a great bag that looks expensive.

A metallic sheen makes this clutch stand out.

This bag has a disco feel to it. I love the patent leather cap.

Kate Spade, Mullins Place Pouch, $99
Pink glitter and leopard. I'll just leave this here.

So if you're feeling something small and fantastic, look no further than a classic leopard clutch. It goes with everything and is a great four season bag.

Fan me with Fronds

It's officially summer. I hope everyone had a great long weekend. I thought we would kick off summer with a print that screams warm weather and vacation. The palm print. It's pretty and bold and I love it for warm weather.

Bloomingdale's, Olivaceous Palm Print Tank, $48
Simple and chic. Perfect to dress up with a blazer or down with shorts.

Dorothy Perkins, Pink Palm Print Jumpsuit, $69
How about an allover print jumpsuit with a cold shoulder?

A classic palm print in a blouse that will be a workhorse in your closet this summer.

Saks Off Fifth, Tie Waist Romper, $49
One more one piece. This just screams vacation to me. Its also 60% off now.

When I think summer I think beach, sun, and palm trees. Why not rock the print that reminds you of summer?

Panel Discussion

Oh hello there Monday. There you are again. Are we used to writing/typing 2017 yet? Well I'm not. But when it comes to a new year, I'm all about a new bag. I like something fresh to loose my chapstick and hair ties in. This season I'm really loving the panel trend because it's eye catching without an explosive pattern of graphic.

Sole Society, Rosamund, $79
Suede panels make this bag all the more interesting. Great lines.

Selfridges & Co., Aldo Etaycien Cross Body, $47
Great colors for winter. Sleek and neutral.

Something a little more casual but still fantastic.

Dorothy Perkins, Navy Panel Dome Purse, $17
What a sleek going out clutch or toss it into a larger bag as your go to wallet/phone case.

Paneling is like color blocking for textures and I love it on bags. Play with colors that work for you. I like a bag that I know I can make work for most of the clothing in my closet.

Unforgettable Holiday Ensembles

How many holiday parties are you hitting this season? There's no need to break the budget when dressing for these parties. Whether you Rent the Runway or buy something on your own, there are plenty of budget friendly options out there. Today let's look at a few dresses.

How perfect is this dress? With tights and velvet pumps. Done.

Long sleeve and dramatic in an evening cocktail party sort of way.

Forever 21, Velvet Mini Dress, $48
Looking to turn some heads and get some 'damn girl's? I found your dress.

Dorothy Perkins, Luxe Silver Spot Jacquard Dress, $89
I'm loving this dress for New Years. It's metallic and eye catching.

So don't break the bank this holiday season when it comes to your holiday party gear. Dress to impress but also dress to budget.

Wear the Rainbow

Happy Monday lovebugs, I hope you had a great weekend. While it's Monday, let's not be blue, in fact let's not even be blue jean, let's pump up the color and play with colorful denim. Cheery, eye catching, and fun denim.

A little stretch goes a long way on a busy weekend. I'd wear these running around town, on vacation, and everywhere in between.

This is a great jean because you can pair so many other colors and patterns with it. Try this with a gingham shirt for extra punch.

Saks Off Fifth, Joe's Mid Rise Ankle Jeans, $168 $79
I love this orange because it's not pastel. It's carrot orange. Healthy food never looked so good.

These jeans say summer to me. I'd dress it up with a white eyelet top.

Before it's full blown sundress weather, try some colorful denim that is anything but expected with jeans.

Colorful Crepe Crops

Yesterday we looked at some unlikely workwear bottoms, today I thought we would keep the trend going with some crepe crop pants. They're perfect for summer because they're light and easy to pair with a simple top and a statement necklace.

I mean, come on. These pants just scream spring! Rosy pink that you can dress down with flats or dress up with some heels and a blazer.

Nordstrom, Halogen Wide Leg Crop Pant, $78 $31
55% off? Don't mind if I do! Love this minty blue pastel color!

Dorothy Perkins, Black Crepe Wide Leg Crop Trouser, $44 $27
Looking for something basic? Try these black pants to wear with some bold prints and button downs.

Nordstrom Rack, Vince Camuto Pleated Culotte, $119 $59
This color. So saturated and rich! And the price? Yes.

I love a comfy crepe in a crop length for work because it's something different but versatile. Just like we get weary deep into sweater weather, you're going to feel the same fatigue for sundresses, so try these crops on for size.

Anything but Quiet

Happy Monday lovebugs,
Let's kick off this week with a bang. I want to wake up this week with prints. Quirky, interesting, and unexpected prints. We are going beyond stripes and dots, I want to pull from the 70s style and artistic prints. Let's grab some attention with pieces you already wear daily.

Dorothy Perkins, Camel Geo Print Blouse, $44
Something a bit more retro but is completely easy to pair with pants, skirts, and the items in your closet.

When I think quirky prints, I think Modcloth and this dress does not disappoint!

These pants are going to be in rotation all year round. Picture it with a chunky oversized knit for now or a trapeze blouse for summer.

So chic and breezy. I love this for work with a pencil skirt or wide leg slacks.

Prints are always eye catching but take them to the next level with 70s inspired, tribal, or more mod and you have a completely different look.

Ruff Around the Edges

I love dogs. As you can probably tell from my Instagram account, I'm pretty obsessed with my main furball, Norman. So when I start to see the quirky graphic pet sweaters, you know I have to do a post.

Sausage dog. I love this. So chic!

JCrew Factory, Intarsia Scottie Dog Sweater, $52
Love. Just simple. I'm pairing this with a classic buffalo plaid flannel button down

Just added this adorableness to my cart and I'm not even sorry. That dog is wearing boots.
Prefer a pug? I've got you covered.

Just happiness. I love this casual and simple top that I can easily dress up or down by layer the right blouse or jewelry.

So show some personality when shopping this season and if you're a dog lover. Show it.

Let's Get Waisted

Today's post idea comes from my father. Yes, this blog is a family show. A text from dad this weekend said: "blog idea, belts, the title let's get waisted, ha!" So. Here we go. Some fantastic skinny belts under $50 that will define any maxi dress, shift dress, or cardigan coming into the fall.

Boden, Skinny Belt, $38
I love the contrasting colors with this belt. If you cinch it and then tie the excess you will get that pop of orange.

Dorothy Perkins, White Tassel Skinny Belt, $6
I love this belt with a blousy floral dress. It also comes in tan.

Vince Camuto, Neon Skinny Belt, $24
Who doesn't love a pop of neon? I'd paid this with navy to really wake up an outfit.

Something different from you average belt and it's designer!

A simple belt can really make all the difference with an outfit. It defines a waistline and it adds a little something extra to your look!

Tell It Tunic To Me Straight

Let's talk tunics. I have a love hate relationship with them. Some people have these amazing bodies that can pull off this completely shapeless item, and I salute you. Some of us on the other hand like the idea of a tunic but need a bit more structure. Today I give you the best of both worlds: two breezy tunic dresses and two more structured options.

Look at this beautiful printed tunic dress. I love the pattern, the material it reminds me of the 70s trend we looked at a few weeks ago

Now something with some weight to it. Here is a great tunic dress with an even better all over print.

Shoptiques, Umgee Forest Bell Tunic, $62
This dress screams summer. I love the scoop neck with a longer necklace and that crochet trim detail is just perfect.

Boden, Everyday Tunic Dress, $98
And one more time with a bit of structure. Simple and sleeveless, this dress is great for a casual afternoon or dress it up with espadrilles and standout earrings.

The tunic dress is great because it works for every shape and style, with some effort. Want an easy breezy look, look for a billowy fabric and peasant details. Need a bit more definition? Look for heavier cotton and darting on the back that tapers in.
