Cut Me A Piece

How about this Monday? Last week of June already! I have not been wearing my summer sundresses and rompers as much as I want to, and it is prime time for them. A combo trend that I'm loving right now is the cutout jumpsuit. It's perfect for those hot and humid Saturdays and you can dress thump or down.

South Moon Under, Moon & Sky Cutout Jumpsuit, $98
Talk about easy breezy. I love the v-neck with the diagonal steps.

Dress this up with some killer sandals for date night. Comfort and style.

Summery and sweet yellow in an effortless one piece. Pair this with espadrilles for a girly brunch.

How fun is this jumpsuit? Denim without looking western.

Who needs to build a whole outfit on the weekend when you can pull on a one piece and go!

Cutting It Close

You know what I hate about the midi dress/skirt length? Sometimes it comes off as dowdy or matronly. Just those extra few inches are enough to make you wonder if you should be attending a PTA meeting or if it's chic. So I've found a solution. Cutouts. The cutout trend is great for showing a touch of skin and making an entire outfit interesting. Let me show you what I mean with some cutout midi dresses.

See what I mean? Just a touch of skin completely changes this dress.

I love this dress. It's not bandage but its still eye catching. And the color!

Forever 21, Rise of Dawn Cutout Dress, $89
A crisp white dress with an unexpected torso cutout. Stunning.

Missguided, Cutout Bardot Midi Dress, $42
I love mint. It's a beautiful, feminine pastel that in this look just screams retro.

Try a cutout to spice up a midi length dress. It gives a little extra detail to an otherwise demure look.

Shake, Shake, Shake

We've looked at a lot of booties on this blog and today is going to be another one of those days. You may think of booties as cold weather shoes, but I love the new cutout options that are perfect for the warming temps! Peep toe, buckles, and cutouts, these booties are ready for dresses, but you don't need the pedicure just yet.

Remember C. Wonder? Yeah, the fabulous Brad Goreski brought it back and it's better than ever.

Sole Society, Evie, $99
Suede perfection. Also comes in fennel or navy.

Crisscross buckles in a stacked heel. So comfortable, so stylish.

Steve Madden, Hilltop, $99
Slip on bootie is taken to a new level with these beauties.

Don't put away your booties for spring, pair them with a sundress or bf jeans. Or try out any of these cutout booties on for size.

Maximum Cuts

I love maxis. I really do. They are no fuss, easily packable, and they are throw on and go. This summer you've seen printed maxis, dressy maxis, how about cutout maxis? A strategically placed cutout takes these maxis to the next level.

I'm starting with my favorite. How beautiful is this dress? I love the colors, the material, and the fact that it is machine washable.

Missguided, Crepe Bralet Maxi Dress, $90
Ready for date night, ready for the vineyard, ready for anything. Gorgeous.

This is a great vacation dress. The print is playful and bright and I love the high neckline.

A beautiful halter option that I think would be perfect for a Fourth of July party. Dress it down for daytime with flat sandals (see Monday's post) and dress it up with a drop earring and heels.

When it's maxi season you need any excuse to add just one more to your closet. I love the cutout maxi because it's not overly sexy and it's perfect for summer.

Running with Scissors

Hi there lovebugs,
Did this weekend feel way to short? For me, one minute I was celebrating Friday with dinner on the roof and the next it was Sunday night laundry. Oh well, back to the grind. But before the grind let's look at some pretty things, yes? Great. Loafers really took off last year, and they're going to be big this year as well, but before we break out the velvet and tights, how about some cutout loafers? Perfect transition piece right now.

Anthropologie, Lydia loafer, $98
I love these pointy toe loafers. They come in four other colors and they have a great leather sole that will make them comfy and durable.

Modcloth, Terrarium Artist Flat, $32
A simple and sweet flat for those mid 60 degree weekend days when you run off to brunch.

DV by Dolce Vita, Gulliver, $55
A great punch of yellow makes these flats perfect for that little extra kick.

Modcloth, Olive Me Flat, $32
And how about these fabulously geeky loafers? I love them with denim, straight fit dress pants, or anything in between.

There are a ton of different styles of loafers out there but I think the cut out style is great for right now. A little breezy, a lot of impact.

Cut Me Out

I'm generally a cover it up kind of girl, but the cutout trend for dresses is just so much fun. It's fresh and sexy and a great one to try when it's 100 billion degrees outside.

Charlotte Russe, Cutout Chiffon Dress, $29
This is a beautiful dress. I love the color and the shape.

Modcloth, Rockabilly Band Dress, $44
Now this is how a prepster like me does cutout.

Boutique to You, Vintage Havana Open Back Maxi, $62
Stripes, maxi and cutout. What a great combination. Pair this with some bold colored jewelry.

Urban Outfitters, Lucca Couture Knit Cutout Dress, $39
Ok this is a little skimpy for me, it would have to be one hot date for me to wear this one.

Do you wear the cutout trend? How do you balance the skin with sweet?
