No Cropping Needed

I really am warming up to this crop top trend. We first looked at this piece in the spring and now I want to revisit with some fun summer options. An easy way to wear this trend is a simple cotton option. Today we're stepping it up with some textured looks. These crop tops have something a bit extra.

Lord and Taylor, BCBGeneration Patterned Crop Top, $40
This color is called whisper white ad I think it's appropriate to describe the color and the pattern. So simple.

Last Call Neiman Marcus, 5twelve Floral Lace Cropped Top, $59
A nice shimmer to go with this lace. I like this for a dressier look.

Originally $97 this top has a beautiful crochet pattern and it perfect to pair with a simple cami.

How special is this top? Feminine and in a stunning coral, plus under $50!

Crop tops can be dressed up. Look for texture, color, and embellishment that make all of the difference.

Sew Beautiful

It's spring but it's not quite 'omg why is it so hot' weather yet. Which means we can enjoy some layering and some more detailed blouses like crochet tops. I just love the details and the love put into these pieces.

Shoptiques, Dahlia Crochet Blouse, $39
Look at this floral open weave! Oh I love this top so much.

Modcloth, Pastry Artist Top, $47
Picture this with a crisp pair of white linen shorts or try it underneath your suit. Yes, a suit.

This is what I mean by spring. Something with long sleeves that can be layered with shorts or bf jeans.

Express, Metallic Crochet Tank, $49
Simply beautiful. Understated yet thoughtful.

Crochet or an open weave is a great way to transition into spring. You can wear it as a standalone piece or layer it with a blazer or a maxi skirt.

Not Your Gramma's Crochet

So often you hear crochet and think Gramma. But this season it's actually quite chic. Check out these pieces.

Urban Outfitters, Staring at the Stars Crochet Tank, $54
The underlay color just pops and the scalloped hemline is divine.

I'm not usually a poncho girl, but the tie waist really brings it all together for me.

I love this overlay, so simple and chic in a sexy way.

Free People, Crochet Crop Top, $72
I love this crop top with the scoop neck. Great color combinations too.

How do you style crochet?

Shall we Crochet?

I haven't fully gotten on board with the all over crochet look, but I am liking smaller details of it found on pieces.  The trend is nice for summer because the crochet pattern and texture is very breathable.  What do you think of some of these?

You certainly can't beat the price.  I would pair this with some green shorts.

Forever 21, Chiffon and Crochet Tank, $23
Now this is classy.  I like the modified v-neck and the uneven hemline.

I really like the gathered skirt on this dress, makes it a bit dressier.

French Connection, Daisy Doile Mini Skirt, $90
Talk about the perfect warm weather navy skirt.  This is divine.  I love the waistband detail as well.

How are you wearing the crochet trend? I must confess, I don't own any pieces yet but I really like the idea of them for summer.
