Give me A Pom!

Can we talk about a trend that I absolutely LOVE for summer? Pom poms. Yeah. They're like 3-D polka dots and they are so freaking cute but depending on your style they can also be boho. No matter what your style, I've got pom pom sandals under budget.

River Island, Brown Print Pom Pom Sandals, $70
It's like a charm bracelet for your feet. I love the mix of colors and patterns.

Charlotte Russe, Beaded Pom Pom Flat Sandal, $42
Look at the beaded strap, its different from left to right. I love it.

A little tamer but still brining to color.

Not into lace up? I got you covered.

Who can't have a great day in these sandals? They're so perky and fun!

Peek A Boo

Let's talk toes. It's chilly in DC but it's almost pedicure time which means it's peep toe time. This spring, mules are going to be all of the rage and peep toe mules are the perfect shoe to add to your closet right now. These trendy shoes don't need to break the bank. Here are my favorites under $100.

Charlotte Russe, Qupid Chunky Peep Toe Mules, $25
Simple, chic, funky with this stacked heel. Oh and the price? Yeah.

Asos, Halo Heeled Mules, $60
Can a shoe have a sweetheart neckline? Because these beauties do and I love them.

Forever 21, Buckled Peep Toe Mules, $19
A little buckle detail for under $20? Don't mind if I do.

How comfy do these look? They also come in black, perfect with bf jeans or an lbd.

Paint those piggies and get them ready for peep toe mule season!

Do A Double Take

Who doesn't love a great double take. That thing/look/smile that makes you turn around to make the moment last just a bit longer. These shoes do just that because they pack a punch in the back. The bow back shoe is simple, feminine, and sassy. Get ready for some whiplash.

Sole Society, Mabel, $79 $59
Perfection with bf jeans because its the perfect mix of casual ripped denim and girly yellow bow.

Charlotte Russe, Pointed Toe Slingback Pumps, $35 $18
Sexy slingbacks under $20? Sign me up!

Prefer a flat? How about these springy sandals? They also come in gold!

A beautiful everyday pump with an unexpected cutout.

A back bow is great for spring when the hemlines start to come up. Play with heels or flats, you cannot go wrong with a bow.

Future's So Bright

It's spring which means it's time to change up your shades. Accessorize to the max and find some new sunglasses. Translucent frames are all the rage right now and if you look carefully you can find some for a steal.

How mod and feminine!

Nordstrom, Le Specs Mad About You, $59
Clean frames go with absolutely everything.

Charlotte Russe, Translucent Round Sunglasses, $5
Pretty pink, ready for the west coast.

These shades scream 'hand me a margarita'. And that is just fine by me.

So bring on the sun. These translucent frames are made for summer!

He Was a Punk, She Did Ballet

A fun and flippy skirt is great for spring. I love the skater style because it's cute and with the right texture and print its a lot of fun. While we love to have fun with skirts here, let's remember that the skater style can be a little cheeky and I don't mean in the British sassy way, I mean I can see your cheeks. No one needs to see that. So when trying these on remember to do the fingertip test and do a twirl in the dressing room, are you going to have a unplanned breeze that gives the world a show?

Ok enough warnings, let's have some fun.

Forever 21, Floral Skirt, $17
A punchy floral for spring, as Meryl would say, groundbreaking,  but with these box pleats and flats. You can't go wrong.

Shoptiques, Honeypunch Printed Skater Skirt, $69 $39
I really like this icy blue metallic print for spring. Very Frozen but unexpected.

Charlotte Russe, Pleated Scuba Skater Skirt, $22
A heavier fabric is great for a mini, it hangs with some dignity.

This skirt is a steal! I love the flap side pockets for extra personality.

Grab a sassy mini for spring and dress it up with cut out booties then dress it down with sneakers. So versatile and so affordable.

Stacked in Your Favor

Sometimes fashion throws us a bone. For instance a few seasons ago when fashion was all 'oh hey, let's give your thighs a break with these ultra skinny jeans and try these bf jeans.' That was a great day. These days fashion is all 'oh man, skinny stilettos are zero fun to walk in, let's try this stacked heel.' And we're all 'heck yeah, fashion, thanks!' So today we're looking at some super comfy stacked heel booties.

Classic. Casual. Perfect for a long day of errands, brunch, and out for the night.

Charolette Russe, Stacked Heel Ankle Bootie, $30
Again, simple and easy to wear with just about anything.

Express, Lasso Heeled Bootie, $55
Need a bit more height? Try these booties that are a steal right now!

Some great details on this shoe. Also available in black or light blue.

A stacked heel is a wonderful thing. It's easy to walk in and comfortable to wear all day long. Booties are going to be around for some time, so why not grab a pair that is comfy and stylish.

Grab An Extra Blanket

One of my favorite blogs is Kendi Everyday and this week she inspired me with this blanket cardigan look.  I went on a search of my own and found some beautiful options that can be dressed up or down with a belt, statement necklace, or heels.

Simple and casual. Such a cozy look.

Gotta love a 50% off tag.

Vince Camuto, Geo Jacquard Blanket Poncho, $84
An oversized geometric print with a punch of color. Nothing wrong with that at all.

A dressier windowpane grid print is super versatile for work or play.

Thank you Kendi for brining this cozy yet chic sweater to my attention! Choose your print, style, and color and add your own spin to the blanket cardigan.

Maximum Sheer

This summer was all about the maxi dress, but when I'm looking for a summer to fall transition piece I'm thinking maxi skirt. One trend I'm loving right now is the sheer maxi skirt. It's interesting and different and I think it's a breezy way to greet September.

A big, blooming print that is so feminine.

Charlotte Russe, Neon High-Waisted Chiffon Maxi Skirt, $22 $15
A pop of pink for your weekend outings.

And speaking of pink, how about this blush option? The pleats offer so much movement.

Shoptiques, Color-block Maxi Skirt, $68
A great multicolor option that you can dress up or down with something as simple as a denim jacket.

The sheer maxi is a fun option to mix in to your fall wardrobe when it's not quite cool outside yet. Have fun with colors and mix in your cardigans or tees for a more casual look.

Show Me Personality

Let's talk comfort. Now that the weather is (fingers crossed) getting just a little bit warmer every day, we don't have to break out the wool and the cashmere. In fact, we can have some fun while still being warm. Sweatshirts were a big trend this winter and they will continue to be this spring, but instead of bejeweled and quilted, let's get graphic and fun. These picks are casual cool and perfect for spring.

A great soft terry makes this top great for the weekend. Add on some statement earrings.

Charlotte Russe, Graphic Sweatshirt, $19
Bound to get some smiles in this sweatshirt.

A great fitted sweatshirt that is a little preppy and a lot comfy.

Express, Graphic Sweatshirt, $39
This sweatshirt was made for me. I'd dress it up by layering it with a gingham button down underneath. Maybe even some pearls.

Graphic sweatshirts are a fun way to express your personality. These tops don't break the bank but they do make you crack a smile.

Get to the Point

On Monday we looked at heeled sandals and now lets look at a more casual option, something for everyday that will brighten your outfit. I'm talking about the patterned flat and today we're looking specifically at the pointed toe option. Chic, casual, and easy to wear.

What did I tell you? Fun and fresh and ready for spring!

Modcloth, First Course Flat, $32
I really like these flats because while the patten is bold the color combination is quiet which means you can pair it with jeans, shorts, or even a red skirt.

Charlotte Russe, Striped Patent Pointy Toe Flat, $22
A sassy stripe that is right on trend with the black and white.

Nordstrom, Bonita Flat, $98
And speaking of black and white, how about a little Aztec print to mix things up?

Pointed toe flats mean business. You can find them in a slew of styles including the popular d'orsay. For me, a printed flat will always get you a 'oh my gosh I love your shoes' and they should because they're something different and fun.
