Today's post idea is a good one. It combines two fantastic summer trends and makes for a ridiculously easy outfit: off the shoulder chambray.

Shifting in Perspective

It's chambray season. Warmer weather, softer fabrics, bring on the denim. Today I thought we would do some research on chambray shift dresses that will be workhorse pieces in your closet this summer. They have an easy shape that you can wear as is or belt and it provides a great canvas for accessorizing.

Great base dress. I love the high low hem detail to dress it up a bit.

Year Round Classic

This week we looked at two things that I want to combine today. A classic that you can wear all yearlong. The chambray button down. It's simple, versatile, and perfect for the dead of winter with a crewneck sweater or a hot summer night with white shorts and heels.

I love this look. Wool skirt, tights, and chambray. Effortless.

I like this shirt because the texture has almost a linen look to it. Something less rugged.

Chambray is simple and easy to wear with pretty much anything in your closet. Seriously. Pair it with jeans, shorts, printed pencils, under a cotton dress. You name it. It's your do it all, four season top.

Denim for Days

Let's talk chambray. It's just about dress time this spring and I am loving the easy and casual feel of denim. While some trends are saying the Canadian tuxedo is making a comeback, I'm not buying it. I'll stick with the standard shapes and styles like today's look: the chambray dress.

I love the dark wash on this dress. I would swap out the belt with something leather for a bit more structure.

How sweet is this dress? It's breezy and casual and ready for a chunky sandal.

Chambray Anyone?

Happy almost Friday! Thank goodness. I'm ready for a weekend. Today we're looking at some fantastic chambray dresses. Denim is so old school, chambray is somehow chic and great for summer.

Gap, 1969 Chambray tiered dress, $79

The tiers are so feminine on this dress and the bit of a drop waist is very unexpected.

Hive and Honey, Chambray Tulip Hem Dress, $39

Very sexy and breezy for an evening out. I would add a colorful or metallic skinny belt to break things up.

A great scoop neck dress for summer. I would pair this with some platform sandals.

I really love this dress because you can dress it up or down and for the price, you really can't go wrong.
