Guess What Day It Is?

My good friend and loyal reader is looking for a great cold weather staple. The camel v neck sweater. Something you'll use for years to come. Right now I'm loving it layered over this shirt. Here are some great camel options. Also btw, camel...hump day....see what I did there?

This is my gold standard. Cashmere, Nordstrom, timeless.

Ann Taylor, V Neck Sweater, $69
This blend is a bit slimmer that I wouldn't layer too much because it's great on its own.

Come on, I had to throw in a fun option!

Zara, V Neck Sweater, $10
Why yes, you did read that correctly. This lovely cotton sweater is ten bucks.

A camel sweater is a classic staple for cooler weather. You can put it under a blazer, add it to a pencil skirt, or pile on the accessories.

Camel Toe

Hi there lovebugs,
Happy Monday to you. If you are sleeping in because of Columbus Day, I hate you. Not really, it's mostly jealousy mixed with the fact that I'd love to be under my covers right now.

First things first, the giveaway winner. Congrats to Alli who won the Cove Necklace! I'll be email you shortly. And don't forget, free shipping ALL month at After Sunset with the code CAPITALBARBIE.

Alright, now the real question, why are we talking about camel toes. Well, they should be talked about, and if you spot one, you should tell that person, it's kind of like the bottom half version of spinach stuck in your teeth. Ok, but really, I'm talking today about camel flats. I love camel because it's such a creamy and easy neutral for any season and any outfit.

Alloy, Frida Loafer, $24
Such a great neutral for some bf jeans and a trapeze sweater.

The ballet slipper makes the studs a little less edgy.

Modcloth, Taupe Model Flat, $35
We all know I'm a sucker for a bow, and this camel flat with just a touch of bejeweled is perfect.

Nordstrom, Nine West Jeleena Flat, $78
Quite a chic flat, the metallic heel makes it for me.

See, camel toes are always a bad thing. But most of the time they are. On shoes though, full speed ahead.

Camel and Some News

Happy Monday to you lovebugs!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend.  Mine was a little extra special then normal because The BF and I got a new puppy!  His name is Norman and he is such a love.  If you want to check out pictures, you can look at my Twitter feed.

Now onto fashion.  I'm really loving camel right now because it's such a great transition color into the fall season.

The prepster in me is always a sucker for cable knit.  And this wool blend is perfect for work or play.

SO worth the price tag. The seaming on the bust is just perfection.

Nordstrom, Halogen belted skirt, $78
I love this skirt for a couple reasons: one, it's lined which reflects quality, two the sailor-inspired buttons, three the versatility in changing out the belt.

I'm usually not loving a square toe pump but this heel has a Mad Men feel to it doesn't it?

Camel is so easily dressed up or down, and it comes in so many color variations that their is a shade for everyone.
