Shake, Shake, Shake

We've looked at a lot of booties on this blog and today is going to be another one of those days. You may think of booties as cold weather shoes, but I love the new cutout options that are perfect for the warming temps! Peep toe, buckles, and cutouts, these booties are ready for dresses, but you don't need the pedicure just yet.

Remember C. Wonder? Yeah, the fabulous Brad Goreski brought it back and it's better than ever.

Sole Society, Evie, $99
Suede perfection. Also comes in fennel or navy.

Crisscross buckles in a stacked heel. So comfortable, so stylish.

Steve Madden, Hilltop, $99
Slip on bootie is taken to a new level with these beauties.

Don't put away your booties for spring, pair them with a sundress or bf jeans. Or try out any of these cutout booties on for size.

Ikat Got Your Tongue

We've made it to humpday of a week of prints. Monday we did chevron and yesterday was paisley. Today let's have some fun with ikat.

This is such a beautiful top. Great colors and a jeweled neckline.

Lands End, Ikat Triangle Scarf, $18
A triangle scarf is such a versatile one because you can tie it in so many ways. I love the tassel detail on this.

If you're feeling adventurous, this jumpsuit is just stunning. And for under 40 bucks, it's also a steal.

There's not much better in life than a beautiful cotton top. This is versatile, it's machine washable and it's a beauty.

Ikat is always a fun print no matter what season it is. It's a pattern that hasn't been corrupted and labeled as preppy or goth, it is what it is.

Go Boldly

Hey there lovebugs,
Happy almost Friday to you. Last month at about this time we looked at some floral pants. Today we're going to continue the floral trend but look at some bolder prints. Some flowers that just can't be contained in you usual, expected colors, patterns, and shapes.

Dorothy Perkins, Floral Printed Mesh Dress, $79
Boom. Now we're talking floral. I love everything about this dress: the shape, the gathering at the waist, colors, oh I just love it.

How about these big ol flowers? Modern, graphic and so much fun.

Lord and Taylor, Tracy Reese Floral Shift Dress, $98
This floral has more of a disco vibe to it. I would pair it with some killer high espadrilles.

Modcloth, Work of Pop Art Top, $49
How about this top? There is so much fabulous going on I'm having trouble not adding it to my cart and checking the heck out at modcloth.com.

Florals aren't just for your pretty Sundays or meeting your grandmother. Try out some bolder colors, some bigger patterns, try some unexpected florals.

Steady as an Arrow

Something you may or may not know about me is that I am a very proud Pi Phi. Pi Beta Phi has been a large part of my adult life, and something that I truly cherish. One of the symbols or a way to recognize a Pi Phi is her arrow. The arrow is a beautiful way to show perseverance, consistency, and strength. I'm a big fan of this quote as well.

A great way to show off my pride is by showing off the arrow through jewelry, and luckily, you don't have to be a Pi Phi to enjoy the beauty and ferociousness of wearing an arrow, check out these picks.

Planet Blue, Gorjana Arrow Wrap Ring, $40
Simple and delicate, this wrap ring is unassuming but stunning.

I really love this bracelet as a layer piece. Add on a couple of bangles or a heavier metal watch to this light chain bracelet.

Urban Outfitters, Miriam Merenfeld Engraved Forever Arrow Necklace, $59 [sold out! Here is a mini version, or a delicate charm version!]
Originally $140 this made in the USA necklace is great alone or for layering. I would even add a soft string of pears to wear with this necklace.

This is what I would call a grown up best friend bracelet. Buy two, and wear it with one of your best girl. Simple, inexpensive and adorable.

You don't have to be a Pi Phi to wear the arrow and thank goodness for that because the options are fantastic. And to those fellow Pi Phis reading this, ring ching!

It's in the the Bag

Happy Monday lovebugs,
I'm traveling this week for work so this week's posts will be travel/business themed. I hope you enjoy!

First things first, packing. But suitcases are kind of boring to write about so let's talk travel purses. I'm talking a fit-it-all yet still look chic bag that you can take on the plane.

The options are quite endless for this structurally-fabulous bag. Two straps, great closure, tie a silk scarf on it for extra umph. Or get the taupe version on sale

A beautiful tote that easily wipes off any rogue coffee spills. It's also 19 inches across which means its perfect for any laptop.

Free People, Slouchy Vegan Tote, $68
This reversible. Yes, reversible, it's a lipstick red on the inside. Is perfect for travel. Soft and supple, ready to throw everything in and go.

Talbots, Buffalo Plaid Tote, $99
Ok, don't be mad at me, I know this is $99. But look at it. It's stunning. Classic.

Invest in a larger tote that works for you. Everyone has different needs when they travel. Do you like more pockets, two straps, leather, laptop-ready? Be picky and you'll have it for a long time.

Vanishing Act

Hey there lovebugs,
I'm back from a fabulous vacation with the Bf. I first and foremost want to thank my wonderful guest posters last week. Rosa, Emily P, Emily H, Lauren.

Now that I'm back, I thought we would take on a big trend for the spring. Lucite. A while ago we looked at lucite shoes and today we'll look at some lucite or clear accessories.

BCBGeneration, Morgan Lucite Minaudière, $64
If you're wondering, minaudière is a fancy way of saying small bag. Yeah, throw that out at a party. "Oh, I love your clutch!" "Actually--it's a minaudière, but yes, isn't it fabulous?"

Last Call Neiman Marcus, RJ Graziano Clear Bangle, $35
I love this chunky bangle because it's actually quite light and airy.

Vince Camuto, Lucite Hoop Earrings, $25
These are stunning, they are the perfect addition to a hot pink summer dress.

This is a great option for warmer weather, it also comes in yellow or clear. It's easy to layer with lighter necklaces.

Lucite doesn't always have to be clear, as long as it's see through, it's on trend. Try it out this summer!

Nuts and Bolts

Hey lovebugs,
We're sticking with the accessories today and getting a little manly. Nuts, bolts, and screws. Stay with me. Let's make them look chic.

Dorothy Perkins, Bolts on Mesh Necklace, $15
These bolt-style beads are great because they mix gold and silver, making it easy to match with everything.

A grown up friendship bracelet that comes in a variety of neon colors.

This bracelet is so funky. It reminds me of some awesome badass girl who took shop class in high school.

This is how you do nuts and bolts in a girly way. I love the mixed materials used on this bracelet!

See? We can steal from the boys: bf jeans, bf oxford, and now some awesome jewelry.

Stud Cuffin

Happy humpday lovebugs, we're getting there.

Let's add some edge to this dull Wednesday. I'm thinking studs. Studding has been huge this season it and it won't be going away soon. Today we're looking at some studded cuffs. A simple accessory with some kick.

Urban Outfitters, AV Max Studded Enamel Cuff, $68
There is something Grecian Goddess about this cuff. Also comes in orange and black.

This cuff is just screaming for an arm party. Layer on those bangles ladies!

BaubleBar, Glam Cone Cuff, $48
I feel as though this cuff should come with a warning, but wow, is it fabulous.

Ok, picture this: you're wearing a simple black crewneck top and then you go to lift up the groceries/laptop/kid/puppy/etc and BAM, everyone sees this bad boy. Quiet, yet demanding.

Studding is a great way to add some bling to an accessory or even piece of apparel. Add it to a simple cuff and it's a whole new piece.

Structurally Striped

First and foremost today I have to say Happy Birthday Mom. She is an awesome mom you guys, like you don't even know. She is such an amazing woman. I really do not know she does it. Love you mom.

OK, today we're talking stripes, but not just any stripes. Peplum stripes. Stay with me now.

I love this top because its a thicker knit then a tee, and it comes in three other colors.

This is the opposite of your standard work skirt. This is how you walk into an important meeting.

So often the strip is a two-tone pattern. this mix of colors is perfect for a peplum.

Do you want to be as happy as this model in sunglasses? Look how happy she is! This top is happiness. The 3/4 sleeve is perfect for spring.

A stripe peplum is a great top because it can be paired with bottoms you already have. A black pencil, bf jeans, you name it.

Thin Mints

I did very well this year guys, really well. I successfully avoided the Girl Scout cookie invasion. I know. Round of applause for those who have not eaten a thin mint this year. Oh thin mints, those delicious chocolate circles of heaven, how can I even begin to try to replace them? Let's think of something else minty...gum, ice cream, shoes. Ah yes, mint shoes.

Oh these are amazing, a metallic cap top mint pump. Sorry Girl Scouts, you're not selling anything like these.

Check out the embellishment on these beauties. They remind me of a princess slipper.

Franco Sarto, Maren, $85
This silver mint colorblock is perfect with a new pedi.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with these ballet flats. They are everything you could want in a simple skimmer.

Minty things don't always have to add pounds to your waistline. Try mint shoes this season as an excuse to not earn another 'I ate an entire sleeve of thin mints' badge on your vest. Don't judge, we've all been there.

Silk Road

Hey there lovebugs,
As spring tries to inch it's way into our lives, we can start to put away the wool and start to test out the silk. Today, I'm talking about scarves. I just love a silk scarf for workwear because it adds something much more than a necklace ever could. Let's take a look at some not full-blown-spring but rather appropriate in between silk scarves.

C Wonder, Diagonal Stripe Scarf, $68
The versatility of this pattern really makes the price worth it. You can use this around you neck, tied to your purse, in your hair or popping out of a blazer breast pocket.

A beautiful pop of chevron for right now is just perfect in any color. This comes in pink, blue, orange and black.

Banana Republic, Lana Dot Scarf, $49
How about this for a neutral? So chic.

Fossil, Cindy Signature Scarf, $39
How about the vintage quality and pattern of this scarf, it would go beautifully with so many colors.

I love a great silk scarf for work because it's a fabulous way to dress up a plain oxford or a tired cable knit.
