Not Your Average LBD

Hey lovebugs,
Happy Monday! I hope you had a lovely weekend. I met up with Rosa and Sara for brunch on Sunday, alway fun to hang out with those ladies.

Today I thought we would look at some LBDs. But not what you're thinking. Today we're talking a little blue dress. The perfect alternative to a standard black cocktail or wear to work dress.

A beautiful deep blue with a great side waist belt that will flatter any shape. I also love this dress because you can pair it with ANY shoe.

A great price for a Suzi Chin dress. This dress is almost sculptural. I love it.

Shabby Apple, I'm Late! I'm Late!, $94
While I'm not sure how this woman ended up in the middle of the enchanted forest with a tea cup, I love this boatneck and lace sleeved dress!

That's right Old Navy. This expensive looking sweater dress, is just screaming for some neon accessories.

The little blue dress is a great option for fall. It's an unexpected change for work or for a night out.

Ocean Hues

Did you enter yesterday's giveaway yet? Don't forget to get in on the chance to win a great state necklace!

Today I wanted to talk about ocean hues. Blues, turquoise and greens that remind us that warm weather is just around the corner.

Lucky Brand, Ocean Ikat Scarf, $49
I really like the blend of colors on this scarf, I'd use it all spring and summer with a white sundress, and now on the nicer days, I'd tie to my purse for a burst of color.

Modcloth, Dock Star Heel, $62
Great and sweet heel. A navy shoe is rare with this type of personality.

Ann Taylor, Easy Scoop Neck Sweater, $68
Great cobalt color, very easy to accessorize with punchy neons.

Macy's, Haskell Necklace, $31
Great mix of color and materials, very easy to pair with jeans and a tee.

Blue hues that remind me of the ocean are a great way to warm up an outfit with a punch of color.

Winter Blues

Happy Tuesday lovebugs,
It's getting frigid in DC and sometimes the cold weather depresses my wardrobe too. But a go to perk up for any outfit is a great, punchy blue. Nothing crazy, but a staple piece that is easy to add to any outfit.

Tinley Road, Bloussant Dress, $69
Well hello color block perfection aren't you a beauty?

So light and classy, perfect for a statement earring.

Lands End Canvas, Cotton Cashmere Cardigan, $24
You guys, the price on this, go buy it now! I love it!

Perfect for layering under a sweater of with jeans on the weekend.

How do you spice up your wardrobe on chilly winter days? Any pattern or color you go to?

Cobalt

Cobalt is a hugely popular color for winter. It's fabulous because it's so saturated and rich looking. It's a nice break from navy.

This reminds me of something very chic and mod.

Mad men beautiful, I'd pair it with a silky tie blouse.

Nordstrom, Olivia Moon Knit Blazer, $88
I really like the cropped sleeves and single button on this jacket. It makes for an easy fit.

This dress is soft and whimsical. I think it would be super chic with some bling.

I really love cobalt for winter. I think it's a stand out color that brings out anyone's eyes.

Blue and Yellow

Hey lovebugs,
As you know it's football colors week here on TCB.  I'm going through my favorite teams and using their uniform colors for inspiration.  Today we're talking blue and yellow for the West Virginia Mountaineers.  The BF loves college football, where I'm more of an NFL girl, but his fave team is West Virginia.

Oh this design is so special, the dress is soft and feminine without being overly sweet.

Shabby Apple, Bellissima, $78
I think you could get a few more wears out of this sunshine-y dress before it gets chilly.  I might even pair it with some brown flat knee high boots.

The zipper front is different and interesting, I like the stripes too.

Zara, V-neck jumper, $16
Simple and classic, great v neckline, and just lovely for fall.

Blue and yellow is classic.  It can be considered preppy or even nautical, but when worn correctly it is crisp and professional too.
