Double Trouble

This fall, I'm feeling blazers. Not necessarily the prep school blazer look but maybe more vintage and masculine. The double breasted blazer is chic and distinctive in the very best ways. No shoulder pads required.

So cool. Like so, so cool. You can totally pull this off.

I really like this speckle print. Not sure what the model is so upset about though.

Sleek and sophisticated. I love this blazer with a pencil skirt, jeans, or ankle pants.

A longer silhouette for a runway look.

Try something a little old school and make it our own this fall. These double breasted blazers are a great excuse to mix it up!

Blooming Blazers

Maybe the summer season is over, but I'm still holding onto some prints and styles that say warm weather. I'm talking florals. While I'm not wearing a dandelion sundress to work, I can still have some fun with floral in other ways. I really love playing with a standard blazer because its an expected 'business-like' piece but a floral blazer? Now we're talking.

Forever 21, Floral Collarless Blazer, $22
Ok, so I'm not sure what's happening underneath this blazer (not much) but I love the colors of this blazer!

I love red, black, and white for a classic power outfit.

Hello lovely! I love this blazer to ankle pants, denim, or a pencil skirt.

A great cropped look that would pair well with a button down, a tee, or a silk tank.

While a navy blazer is a classic and versatile piece, I think you may be surprised how interchangeable a floral blazer really is!

Pretty in Pink

Every career lady needs a great blazer. Why not have a go to blazer that makes you smile? I'm talking about a color that brightens up your face and your day. Let's look at pink blazers. Non-girly girls, hang with me. Picture these pastel pretties with ripped bf jeans, a windowpane pencil skirt. Dress it up, down, and style it for you.

Look at this amazingness. Look at it! The stand up collar is going to make everyone in the office stand up.

Single button blazers have a longer and leaner feel that make the pink a little more masculine.

Pro tip: when you wear this to work, wear a real shirt. Pair it with slim fitted ponte pants for an easy, chic outfit.

Forever 21, Classic Woven Blazer, $24
A tuxedo style lapel is going to pair beautifully a crepe soft pant.

Stick with pink this spring. Pick a hue that works with your skin tone, pastel to punchy, you will always find a pink that suits you.

I've Come Unbuttoned

Blazers are a great foundation of an outfit. They pull an outfit together. You can easily grab one to add on top of a dress, or a pair of jeans, or for the office. They come in so many shapes and styles and I promise there is one that will fit your lifestyle. Today I wanted to look at a more relaxed version of the blazer: the open front or draped blazer.

Don't you love this peachy blazer? Imagine it paired with some navy bling. Oh and those notched lapels. That's the stuff dreams are made of.

Dress this up, dress this down, add pearls or add spikes. This blazer does it all.

Nordstrom, Trouve Open Front Blazer, $98
For me, this is when you spend the $98. This piece will last you for years. This blazer is masculine in style but feminine in fit. The deep purple is perfect for the ox blood trend and the tuxedo style lapel is just stunning.

The title of this blazer is pretty spot on. It's essential. A simple navy, four season, just essential.

The open front blazer is a more casual version of the buttoned up look. It's cool and easy, but absolutely can be dressed up for any occasion.

A Good Pipe

Hey lovebugs!
Happy Tuesday to you! I hope you enjoyed yesterday's post. Sometimes I get a little emotional and over-sharey so thanks for reading. Today we're back to fashion and we're looking at piping. This detail adds the perfect pop of color or added enhancement to a blazer or jacket.

A beautiful and simple addition to any pair of skinny jeans or maybe a pair or bright orange cords.

A stunning stripe to this collarless jacket. The buttons are little military which makes the soft yellow stand a little stronger.

Contrasting piping on this fantastic chevron stripe blazer is the perfect compliment to the multicolor.

Macy's, Contrast Trim Draped Blazer, $58
I like this open or belted for more definition.

The piping on a blazer can add just a touch of something extra to an entire outfit. Look for these details when adding to your wardrobe.

Linen Jackets

Happy Tuesday lovebugs! Here's to a short work week!

Today I thought we would talk about a great way to dress up a casual outfit for work or play but not melt this summer.  Linen jackets.  They offer some structure without the heat.

Talbots, Jackie Jacket, $72
I really like the bell sleeves on this jacket.  I would pair it with a white a-line skirt.

Forever 21, Cropped Linen Blazer, $28
Fabulous color! Hello black pencil skirt OR jeans!

Limited, Safari jacket, $70
A little safari pocket makes this casual but sassy.

There is something so sleek about this blazer.  The perfect blazer for work, play or a sundress

Are you loving these picks? I really like how cool and comfortable these pieces can be for summertime.

Bright Blazers

Hey lovebugs!
Happy Monday.  If the Mondays have you down, do I have something to make you smile.  It's a traditional piece now with a colorful spin. I'm talking about bright blazers!

Urban Outfitters, Pins and Needles Scalloped Blazer, $79
I love this pastel pink! It would look great with a white dress or a black pencil skirt.

Eddie Bauer, lightweight chino blazer, $69
The color is a little military, the details are so feminine.  The low stance with the buttons makes it more casual and on the back is a thin bow tie.

The Outnet, Armand basi baber, $77
There's only a few left in size 4 but it is just gorgeous isn't it? I love the bracelet sleeves.

Newport News, Satin wing collar jacket, $49
Hello drama! What a fabulous, luscious color to go with!

Try to spruce up your blazers with some color.  If you want to keep what you have now, add a neon skinny belt around the outside to give it some extra pop!

Blazers- not just for suits anymore!

Hey lovebugs! Happy Thursday to you!  I hope you had a wonderful week and are planning an even better weekend.

I wanted to ask if you might be interested in sharing some of your holiday traditions with me for Friday Foodday.  I would just love to include them tomorrow and over the next couple of weeks.  Recipes, stories, outfit ideas, outfit flops, whatever comes to mind please just send it on in!

Today we're going to talk about blazers.  If you watch TLC's What Not to Wear, Clinton and Stacy are obsessed with blazers and jackets and for good reason! They complete any outfit and add another layer for a transitional climate.  Blazers are truly as versatile as accessories.  You can pair them with jeans, LBDs, work wear, you name it.  Here are some of my picks:

I'm obsessed with this single button blazer. It's so soft but with the chain detailing projects a rocker edge.

Bloomingdales, vintage havana knit-fleece lined blazer, $75
I like the relaxed feel of this blazer with the dropped breast pocked and slouchy feel. And the color is very understated so I would pair it would something feminine like a dress.

Forever 21, allover sequin blazer, $25
If you haven't noticed sequins are rocking this season.  Let them play off a traditionally professional piece like this blazer and party like it's 2011.

Modcloth, Lace in the morning blazer, $85
The other trend is lace. In any color.  Look a this sweet blazer- I like it with a chunky turtleneck now and with a colorful sun dress later.

Ann Taylor, Deluxe velvet blazer, $89
I've saved my favorite for last.  There is so much awesome going on in this piece I can't even stand it.  Double button to lock-and-load the girls, full length sleeves, darting at the slimmest part of the waist, perfect waist crop, slit side pockets, in a glorious chocolate fudgey brown velvet.
