She was here all weekend and then her Sunday night flight got cancelled. So today, we honor her and her patience with all things lavender.

A Tassel Old As Time

Earlier this week we looked at tassel loafers. Today we're going back to tassels but in an accessory. Tassel jewelry is a great way to add some playfulness to your outfit. I love tassel earrings for work or play because they come in so many colors and styles there is always something that works for you.

I love these statement earrings, and they come in five other colors.

BaubleBar, PiƱata Tassel Drops, $36
A beautiful beaded option to dress up an LBD or jeans. Also comes in a dozen other colors!

Not feeling the beaded? Try these faux leather rocker styled drops.

Club Monaco, Small Tassel Earrings, $15
A small accessory with a punch. I love the hoop style with the textured tassel.

A tassel earring is so versatile for casual to black tie. The price points are easy to stay in budget and there is something for everyone.

Effortlessly Cool

Ok lovebugs,
It's sweater weather stock up time and I am loving the dolman sleeve trend. It is so cozy and cool. It is relaxed but luxe. Let me explain.

Grab a long statement necklace and you're good.

Urban Outfitters, Olive & Oak Basic Dolman Sweater, $59
Such a great base for fall. I'd wear as is or play with layering a printed collar.

Forever 21, Mock Neck Dolman Sweater, $24
Obsessed with this rich green. It's got more structure than a poncho but it's breezy and cool.

Boatneck with a fitted waist. Just a gorgeous jewel tone as well.

The dolman sleeve is effortless. These sweaters are all comfort but you can dress them up so easily.

It's Getting Hot in Here

Happy Monday lovebugs,
I'm fresh off of vacation and working the slightest hint of a tan so obviously I'm feeling a little saucy. It's also the dog days of summer which means its hot, so today I thought we would put both of these things to good use and look at some faux wrap came dresses. Skimpy, but with the right print, cut, and accessories it's a heck of an outfit.

See what I mean with the cut and print? This dress has movement.

Shoptiques, ASTR Lucia Dress, $99
A beautiful dress for an outdoor summer wedding if you are looking to impress.

Simple and perfect for triple digit heat index weather.

Shoptiques, Floral Wrap Maxi, $65
Such a summer dress. Lovely floral print with a crisp white canvas.

When we are this deep into summer, break out the coolest dresses in your closet. These cami dresses will keep you cool and feeling sassy.

Cat's Got Style

Ok sun, so glad you've joined us. DC has tolerated weeks of rain and I recently had to find my sunglasses. Find! That's how long it's been! So it's time to spruce things up. Let's play with some cateye shades that are eye catching and classic.

I love this color contrast. It's simple and goes with everything but still stand out.

Not into colors? Try these clear shades on for size.

Urban Outfitters, Terrace Cateye Sunglasses, $18
An angular pair that would work for rounder face shapes.

Oh heck yes, ombre lenses? Sign me up.

So bring on the sunshine. I've got my sassy shades ready.

Greater Lengths

Happy Monday lovebugs,
It was a relaxing weekend here in DC and even though we are still dealing with off and on rain, the sun made a few appearances. Today I thought we would look at a trend that isn't necessarily my favorite style but figuring out how to make it work for me. The bohemian trend. Breezy, cool, and twirly (yes that's the technical term). I'm more of a fitted or structured kind of girl, but I can take the maxi skirt boho trend and make it work for a more streamlined look.

This skirt is going to be a workhorse in your summer wardrobe. Crisp white with a faux wrap silhouette.

Nasty Gal, Bialik Floral Maxi Skirt, $88 $44
Major sale alert! How gorgeous is this red skirt? Zoom in and you can see the feminine lace overlay.

Urban Outfitters, Kimchi Blue Pleated Maxi Skirt, $89 $69
A beautiful blue and pleats that will make your legs look model-like long.

TJMaxx, Polka Dot Maxi Skirt, $19
I'd pair this print with a contrasting one on top like a pink pinstripe of floral.

While the boho trend isn't in my comfort zone, I can play with a piece of this style that work for me. Don't shy away from trends, make them work for you!

Time for a Change

It's humpday, not that I'm checking, or counting down, or anything like that. We're getting there. And to help us watch the time go by on this Wednesday, why don't we upgrade our watch? I've got some great styles with round face details that are sure to fit any budget.

Simply perfect for work or play. Chic black, white, and gold, with a great graphic.

How versatile is this watch? Suit, jeans, black, brown, red, you pair it, it works.

Asos, Large Face Fine Case Watch, $35
Mod. Chic. A bit masculine but balanced with the thin strap.

Urban Outfitters, Braided Leather Map Watch, $29
Travel bug? This watch is perfect for you or a gift. I love the braided strap.

So check your wrist. Add something useful to your arm party.

Buckle Up!

I love good details and with shoes that's often buckles. Especially during winter, buckles and boots are like pancakes and beer; they just go together. (Don't knock it until you've tried it).

Target, Estelle Riding Boot, $39
These boots look very expensive. I love the simple buckle and black/brown mix.

Urban Outfitters, Della Side Buckle Boot, $69
An everyday boot. Pair with jeans, a skirt, or skinny pants for work!

A rocker chic biker boot that's 40% off right now.

Mango, Suede Ankle Boots, $199 $99
Sexy ankle boots that are ready for date night. A skinny heel and pointy toe never let a girl down.

Simple details like a buckle or exposed zipper make a standard piece stand out from the crowd.

Mini Bag, Major Impact

Let's start this post off right, Happy Veterans Day. Thank you to all who have and are currently serving and keep us safe. You are always remembered. Ok, with that in mind...

It's fall which means it's suede time. You've seen the suede skirts, the suede stilettos, but have you tried a suede bag? Now in the Monday through Friday grind, I have a standard larger sized bag that fits my entire life. But on the weekends, I shrink it down. I love a mini bag for play and I love it even more in suede.

This is my perfect going out bag. A great saddle shape and sleek mixed material.

Ann Taylor, Mini Suede Bucket Bag, $79
This bag looks so luxe. It also comes in black, deep red, or hunter green.

Urban Outfitters, Exote Sueded Chain Mini Crossbody, $44
This long fringe works with distressed jeans or an LBD. It is crazy chic.

Olive is a great and often overlooked neutral. It works with plaid of any color, navy, red, you name it.

Suede is a soft and supple material which works great for bags. It looks expensive but you don't have to spend a lot to get in on this trend.

You Don't d'Orsay

We all have come to know and love the d'orsay trend. It's simple, anyone can pull it off and it's modifiable to any budget. I love suede for fall and while I can't say I'll be sporting a full on suede skirt this season, these suede d'orsay shoes make me feel a part of the trend. Sorry Vogue, baby steps for this girl.

JCrew Factory, Suede d'Orsay Flat, $88
Picture these with bf jeans, picture them with culottes, picture them with a pencil skirt. They do it all.

Sole Society, Jillian, $69
Looking for the perfect black wedge for the cold weather? Boom.

Urban Outfitters, Suede d'Orsay Flat, $49
This deep cherry reminds me of velvet. So luxe.

Nordstrom, Steve Madden Varcityy, $89
When you wear these beauties, remember shoulders down and back and look straight ahead. And werk.

Suede d'Orsay is so perfect for fall. I love both flats and pumps for any occasion.
