Simply the Best

So often this time of year we go all out for that perfect holiday ensemble. Glitter, sparkle, plaid, velvet, it's certainly about the wow factor. So why not try something a little more delicate with the earring? Let's take a look at some beautiful minimalist earrings that will work perfectly with your stunning outfits this winter.

Anthropologie, Parenthetical Climber Earrings, $32
These will be your everyday earring. I love the gold knob detail.

BaubleBar, Ice Bar Studs, $24
The perfect pinch of sparkle with a busy fair isle sweater.

Stella & Dot, Marlin Earrings, $39
A super simple drop earring is all you need when wearing plaid.

Mix up your hoop earring game. Edgy spikes give this look the perfect oomph.

A simple but special earring is essential when you're dressing up for holidays or layering up for winter. I love these quiet but classic accessories.

Outerwear Your Ears

The latest trend in earrings: the ear jacket. Seriously. I think it's more wearable than the ear cuff but a bit more unexpected than your normal stud earring. The ear jacket is part stud and part drop earring.

BaubleBar, Pearl Arc Ear Jackets, $28
Step up your normal pearls for these whimsical accessories. You can also vary the length of the earring with adjustable holes for the stud.

Bloomingdale's, AQUA Paige Bar Ear Jacket, $20
A little door knocker and a little hoop. This is going to look great with a suit.

Got a special occasion or an LBD that need a boost? These babies. Elegant and interesting.

Stella and Dot, Crescent Ear Jacket, $49
I saved my favorite for last. These have four different way to wear them. Wear just the studs, switch out the stud and just enjoy the compliments.

I'm loving this trend. I think it's different without being isolating to us 9-5 folks.

Shop for A Cause

It's October which means it is breast cancer awareness month. I love that retailers are making special items to benefit charities for this cause. Today we're going to look at a few that stood out to me. Have you found any items benefit finding a cure? Please share!

Stella and Dot, Strength Bracelet, $39
100% of the proceeds go to the Noreen Fraser Foundation. 100%.

LandsEnd, Supima Cardigan Sweater, $49
I love this charcoal color, it's so versatile. Did you know LandsEnd has a special Thread Project that donates 75% of the embroidery fee to breastcancer.org if you monogram with special pink thread icons? I love a good monogram and they have dozens of items to choose from.

Everything but water, Woman Bracelet, $44
This bracelet spells 'woman' in braille. I think this accessory has such a quiet strength to it. Beautiful.

Boy Meets Girl USA, Vintage Fleece Coco Hoodie, $55
How sweet is this hoodie? 20% of the proceeds go towards the Young Survival Coalition.

These items are both gorgeous and for a great cause. The pink doesn't hurt either!

Look into the Crystal Ball

It's humpday, let's look at something shiny, something blingy. Let's look at some crystals. I love a crystal jewelry option because it's affordable but packs a punch.

A statement piece but with a delicate chain.

Stella and Dot, Urbane Bracelet, $34
How about something pretty but with a ball and chain twist?

J Crew, Crystal Feather Earrings, $38 (extra 25% with code SHOPFALL)
I love the shape of these earrings. They remind me of an ear cuff but so much more delicate.

BaubleBar, Crystal Mason Ring, $28
Sculptural but not heavy. A great combination for this conversation starter of a ring.

Crystal accessories make a big impact but because they're not a precious stone, they're easy on your wallet. For crystal bracelets, you can also layer on some colorful leather or fabric bracelets to the arm party.

Spend Some Give Some

Hi lovebugs, I hope you had a nice weekend. Today we are taking a look at some great pieces of fashion that give back. Shop for a cause if you will. There a ton of retailers out there doing good work. Today we're going to congratulate just a few of them.

Angela Roi's vegan leather bags come in a variety of colors, each one supports a different cause. Orange is for fighting kidney disease.

Tom's, Correa Sandal, $59
We all know and love Tom's story, and when I read Jonathan Adler teamed up with them and added his colorful patterns to these comfy sandals, I had to have em.

This adorable (and personalize-able) tote benefits the David Sheldrick Trust that helps save endangered African elephants.

Stella and Dot, Hope Necklace, $69
100% of the proceeds from the this necklace goes to support women's cancer research.

So let's try to spread a little love when we spend. What are your favorite ways to shop for a cause?

Today is Dumb, Here's Some Fashion

As you may or may not know I hate Halloween. It's a feeling that was passed on from my mother with the idea that spending money on an outfit never to be worn again is just not something I can get behind. And yes, I'm aware I'm in the minority. So, instead of showing off costume options, here are some great orange pieces that can be worn after today. Oh and if you really need a costume, here's my dog Norman dressed up.

Stella and Dot, Olivia Bib Necklace, $59
Great details that differentiate this necklace from the standard J Crew bauble.

Nordstrom, Pleoine Dot Pullover, $40
Orange hearts? Yes please.

A simple and timeless relaxed cardigan.

Urban Outfitters, Cooperative Scallop Peplum Dress, $39
I'm obsessed with this dress. Sassy with a tiny peek-a-boo and it comes in a slew of colors.

Happy Halloween to those with more imagination than me.

Oh No You Didn't Stella

We all know and love Stella and Dot. It's practically a household name. But the only thing I knew Stella for was jewelry. Now she's into bags and accessories. Let's take a peek at some of my faves.

Stella and Dot, How Does She Do It in Ikat, $89
So many great things happening here. 1. The print. 2. The shoulder length handle. 3. The spill resistant green with navy pindot lining. 4. The size to fit your laptop.

Stella and Dot, Bring it Jewelry Roll, $39
This one is for my sister who has an obsession with elephants. How perfect would this be for traveling?

Stella and Dot, Palm Springs Scarf, $59
Lightweight scarves? Are you kidding me right now? Perfect for summer nights.

Stella and Dot, Chelsea Tech Wallet, $59
Fits your iPhone, keys, cards, and cash. Night out, let's go.

In my opinion Stella and Dot nailed this. And no, this is not a sponsored post. I just truly think they rocked it.

NYE Accents

Hey lovebugs! Are you ready for 2012? Today I thought we would look at some fabulous accents to add to your LBD for New Year's Eve.

If you aren't usually brave with your headbands during the year; NYE is the best excuse to go big or go home.

I absolutely love this belt, it's flashy and fabulous in all the right ways.

I love color around the face and these beauties are perfect for a big night.

Stella and Dot, Soiree Trio Ring, $49
Hello glamorous.

What are your NYE plans? Dressing up or down? Even if you're in pjs, wear some bling for fun!

Gray and Sparkle Inspired

Today we're doing a nail polish inspired post.  I'm loving gray right now for fall, I'm also loving a fun version of french manicure with gray and sparkle- something like this...
Anthropologie, Orbweaver Dress, $69
I love this silky breezy dress, I would pair it will some glittery dangle earrings.

Yes, this is more then I would usually spend on a sweater, but hello statement piece! I love this.

I want this sweatshirt more then anything! Dressy, comfy, perfect!

Stella and Dot, Soiree Pearl Pave Bracelet, $34
This is very chic.  I love this for work or with jeans.

I love this special french manicure and I love the combination of gray and sparkle!

Navy and Silver

Hey lovebugs!
Today I wanted to talk about a color combination that I think is perfect for this heat wave: navy and silver.  This color combo is crisp and makes a statement and in this heat, and sometimes you need a little extra oomph to make that happen in this weather!

Nordstrom, Pleione Tie Neck Smock, $53
Hello elegance.  I love the sleeves on this tunic, I would pair it with earrings like these...

These are so gorgeous.  Not too chunky and just the right about of bling.

I really like the pewter/silver color of this dress, I would pair it with these shoes...

These are so simple and no nonsense.  I would love these for weekends.

Modcloth, Midnight sun dress, $43
You really can't find this kind of beauty for under $50.  This is perfect for wedding season.  I'd pair it with these shoes...

I love the idea of a sweet dress with a side of 'hell yeah she's working those heels!'

So what do you think of this color combination? I think it's so fresh and clean even for being a darker tone.
